166 ALL wheel kw... 350HP max of air flow means it can produce 350hp worth of air. that's at the engine. 350/1.34 to get kw = 261kw MAX at the engine. this car is Constant 4wd not like the gtr. so, considering a stock wrx of 160kw will put out about 110kw at the wheels and has the same sort of drivetrain loss, you can see why his car is putting out 166kw at the wheels. 20 psi is not the max he can run with that turbo. expect about 60kw loss to the wheels, I'd say that the most he could get at the wheels on that turbo would be about 200kw. Also, he says he has a Garret intercooler from a COOMA diesel (I'm guessing some sort of truck..) Possibly a bottle neck there.. I don't know. anyway, it sounds like a well setup car. Ask your mechanic to take it off and clean the element in side it using electrical contact cleaner.

Interior retrim is not what I'd do but at least it's new.. so being an 89 model.. let me know when you decide to sell it for $9K.. LOL.. very nicely built car mate.

The point I make with my first point is that yes.. a stock turbo with internal gate venting to atmo sound like garbage.. it sounds nothing like an external gated turbo venting to atmo. it indeed sounds like an exhaust leak. my second point was something you should all already know. atmo venting wastegate is illegal. If you get pulled over for something and your car gets checked over, the cop can decide to "overlook" the defect and just say "you can't have that like that, make sure you get it sorted, or he can go by the book and book you for the defect, AND, suggest that it be taken over the pits. But as you said, there are cops who don't follow the law to the last point.. change the spark plugs as well. do a search for what spark plugs to use here.

In the R32's the Auto radiator had a small section under the radiator for the auto trans fluid to go through for cooling. it has a hole at each end for that. Not sure how the R33's are. it will still work fine thought.. the auto fluid holes don't actually go near the coolant..

Looks clean. but price is still high IMO. For an AUTO, SEDAN, with 160K kms, you'd be looking at around the $8K mark. Perhaps $9K Manual would sell for about $11K. Perhaps you could put stock wheels and stereo in it and sell for cheaper and sell the wheels and stereo to make some money back.. good luck

1.) if this is for sound, just loosen one of your dump pipe bolts.. the gasket will burn out on that corner and you will hear the same stupid god awful screaching sound of an exhaust leak... this is exactly how a stock turbo, internal wastegate to atmo will sound. 2.) I work for QLD Police.... they can and will fine you the $10K... As with any cop.. it depends on the individual cop who stops you. and your attitude at the time. I train with a couple of them who were so annoyed with the individual driver with a bad attitude that they made an example of them.. Also, unless you have an engineers certificate for "ANY" modification from stock, you can be made to remove it. so the guy above where his mates had to return to stock is very much possible. de-reg and dodgey road worthy will be and has been found out before too. that caused a larger fine than the so called mythical $10K fine.. make of this what you will.

3 gaskets to check. the one between the manifold and the block. the one between the manifold and the turbo. the one between the turbo and dump pipe. My $2.50 is on the gasket between manifold and turbo.. AND, that you have at least 1 bolt missing. edit.. obviously this means that there is nothing wrong with your high power bov.

didn't you ask for an estimate for the tune before you went there? I apid $150 for my safc tune on an s14. this was in sydney at Unigroup. It took 1.5 hours. And it was also with him showing me and talking to me through each change he made to the a:f and my boost controller. that is a lot of money. and 8 hours is rediculous. and who the hell changes 1 spark plug?

CCCP - Have you asked how much the filter is from Nissan? but as above.. Repco etc will sell the same thing. Pulsar, 200sx, comodore all use the same factory paper air filter.

Stock air box performs much better than a pod on it's own. and probably just as good as a pod with CAI and sealed box. Sell pod. put stock air box back on.. remove the little sponge thing in the air box (not sure if the R33's have them). it is just for noise reduction. and there you go.. better performance, and a little bit more noise..
