  1. hey guys i have recently installed my rebuilt motor and have come to a halt with the 4wd system:( i have a 4wd light,hicas light,anti lock light on. bit of background- the previous owner told me if you push the foglamp switch in it will run 2wd. i have disconnected the little wire in the kickpanel and tried bleeding the transfer but i couldnt hear the motor going when i did this. the ecu flashed a code once which was 11 flashes. when i pushed the foglamp switch in it flashed 11 13 14 ive checked the fuses in the engine bay and under dash. i checked the g sensor under the console and that is white still anyone got any other ideas for me to try? cheers johnny
  2. hey guys ive just installed my freshly built rb26 in to the gtr. the problem im having is that it is idling way to high! around 1600-2000. ive tried screwing in the valve under the plenum and that didnt lower it enough i cleaned the throttle bodys while the engine was out im starting to think this is why it may be idling high:( also what does your gtr temp guage normally sit on? cheers johnny
  3. hey guys just finished installing my rebuild 26 and im not sure where the gearbox breather tube bolts to. can someone who has removed the gearbox please help johnny
  4. hey guys im installing my freshly built rb26 in the next week. i bought this car in pieces so im slowly putting this maze of bolts back together.what i need to know is can i put the engine back in with the gearbox attached? i will be using a standard size engine crane but could possibly organise something else if needed. any other tips when installing engine and gearbox? johnny

  6. hey guys ive got some eagle rods that came with arp 2000 bolts to suit a rb26dett, does anyone know what the torque settings for the bolts are? johnny
  7. hey guys im i have a rb26 that is being machined and im trying to figure out if im going to run into problems with CR ratios. what i have is supertech 87.5mm forged pistons eagle h beam rods about 12thou machined of the head and the block is being decked (so we can run the cometic gasket) 1.2mm cometic mls gasket info on the piston spec sheet is bore size-3.4055/86.50mm compression height -1.181 (30.00mm) dome height/dish depth -+0.1378(+3.5mm) dome/dish cc's - +15.5cc is there a program i can use to suss out what cr ratio i will have once i find out how much is taken off the block? and am i going to run into isssues with piston to head clearances? thanks guys johnny
  8. well decided that i am going to strip the engine for the second time to get the block decked:( then reassemble and use the cometic gasket,i cant understand why my engine builder and machinest didnt deck the block:(.bloody pissed off! johnny

  10. hey guys i just got my rb26 bottom end (rods crank pistons assembled) problem i have is that i was going to use the cometic mls gasket in my engine but the face of the block hasnt been machined, and ive read on here some guys cometics have leaked. so can i use the cometic even though the block hasnt been decked? and is there anything i should do to make to make it seal better? johnny

  12. never dealt with turbo tech but united fuel rebuilt my to4/60 last year after ATS in oconnor stuffed it up 3 times. steve at united helped me out heaps and did a great job. johnny
  13. hmmm i think i will wait till i get a powerfc and a pump and get the car tuned for low boost before i drive it then. johnny
  14. 400hp atw with stock boost! woah wasnt expecting them to make that i would have thought 400atw would need around 18-19psi and all supporting mods johnny
  15. sweet thats what i was hoping for :sorcerer: before i screw any boost into these turbs they will definetly have the support mods needed to make the power. johnny
  16. i will be getting a pfc and injectors but not for a few months as my budget will be blown as i have just put all the money into a forged bottom end and turbos,its much easier for me to fit the turbos now while the engine is out of the car,so basicly you guys are saying i wont be able to drive the car with the bigger turbos on until i get a pfc,pump and injectors yeah? even at a low bost of say 7psi? johnny
  17. hey guys im building a rb26dett so far it has forged pistons h beam rods acl race bearings recon head cometic gasket n1 oil pump extended drive stock turbs and stock dumps to kakimoto exhaust i am going to order some GT2860R-5 to fit to the new engine before it goes in as i dont like the idea of doing it while the engine is in the car.and ive read that the standard turbs can be engine destroying mongrels. where is the cheapest place to get the GT2860R-5? and also what boost would you suggest i run considering i wont be able to afford cams pfc and injecters for about 6 months or so? any other advise would be great thanks johnny
  18. hey guys i read a post awhile back about being able to use a r33 gtr engine gasket kit for a r32 as long as you get the r32 strainer oring. the reason for this is the price of the kit is a $100+ cheaper problem ive got is i rang nissan and they say the r33 has 2 kits 1.96-97 1010124u26 and 2.97- 1010124u28 does anyone know what the difference is between them or know which one i should be getting for my 32 thanks in advance guys. johnny
