Seems to me that everyone else has higher expectations of the car than I do Adam. I'll be happy regardless of what it runs in the knowledge that we did most of it ourselves. I am sure it will be a capable performer but with my limited "rice" experience I really dont know what to expect of it. Time will tell I guess.

Thats a japanese grandmother in the woollies carpark. :laughing-smiley-014:

Once upon a time in the land of the rising sun the emperor decreed that he would like to try his hand at time attack. The dutiful officials decked out a gleaming black Nissan Cedric with twin carbs, extractors, an apexi cannon and whitewall cheesecutters in accordance with his majesty's whim and took the whole shebang to Mt Fuji so his highness could demonstrate his supremeness to the people by shattering the record. As it turns out the divine one couldnt drive a nail into soap and ended up sideways at every left or right deviation as well as on the main straight. The quick thinking officials in fear of losing their heads then announced to the crowd that his greatness had just demonstrated the new national sport to be embraced by all and it would be called....."DRIFTING" Such was the general lack of driving ability among the populace that most of them had been (unbeknown to themselves) "DRIFTING" for most of their driving lives. Now that it had the divine seal of approval it raised the standard of moral to a high level throughout the land to the point that DRIFTING became the norm and driving in a straight line or smoothly on a circuit was severely frowned upon by officialdom. So you see Markimac (mudcrab) and others. "DRIFTING" is the sole domain of those talentless individuals incapable of correctly apexing a corner or putting the power down in a manner conducive to exiting a corner under full control at high speed. Even High speed low et drag times are beyond their limited ability hence their desire to embrace the "DRIFTING" principle. And they all lived happily ever after. :laughing-smiley-014:

Would 130mph blow my grey hair out?

I understand that in your modesty you have no desire to go grandstanding mate but the idea is to sell your car up to make it more attractive to a potential buyer. My apologys for the 10 second call, I thought i read your for sale thread heading it as a 10 second car. I cant find your thread btw, You need to bump it up so buyers can see it. The other good idea is that willowbank have records of every pass ever made since it opened. Gotta loove the puda era. You can contact them and they can send you a copy of your 130 mph pass. It's another strong selling point. In the current market sellers need all the help they can get and these are great selling aids so it could well be in your interest to produce them.

I reiterate....anecdotal evidence.

LOL, Your before and after will in no way be a true comparison Mik and you know it ya cheeky young pup. How are you going to factor out the massive headwork, cams, solid conversion, computer, etc, etc etc. What I would like to see is a true side by side comparo with zero other changes other than the dyno touchups required to enable each product to do its best. If i were going to manufacture and market such a product the first thing i would do is test it against the known benchmark and if the results were positive i would sing it to the world. To date all I have seen is anecdotal evidence, Not conclusive enough for me.

Unless someone could show me some flow bench results or side by side (before and after) dyno results I think the plazmaman plenum is one hell of an overpriced 1/2 a plenum. 1200 bucks for basically a polished box that sits on top of the stock runners. Those interested in the performance gains to be had from aftermarket plenums are not going to stop there. In the main they will want to upgrade the t/b and the fuel rail etc so it makes that cost a moot point really. I went with the greddy job But there is nothing that says I wont change if someone can give me good enough reason to. For the moment tho its greddy all the way. A proven performer.

cost will depend on what standard of work you want and how much of it you are prepared to do yourself. I am going to give mine the treatment after the build and i have found the painter I want. He has already done my front bar and rear wing. To keep the cost down I will be sending the car to him stripped and ready. front and rear bars off, headlights, tail lights, grille etc all gone, debadged, Rubber seals gone. Anything you can do that saves him time saves you money. Find the painter you want and talk to him.

Whenever i see anything going sideways I can only draw 2 conclusions. Mudcrab or mental illness.Even circuit racing is no place for crabs. go sideways and lose. Now drifting, well....Thats right up there with the sheila at the olympics twirling the ribbon on the stick. You need some other klutz to tell you who won. Drag or circuit, Its obvious who damn well won. Its in the time slip and the chequered flag. So dont go calling drifting a sport because it isnt. It may be a discipline of sorts but sport it aint.

Dont shoot the messenger Scathing, We are on the same page. I have over 125 kay in my driveway in 2 nissan "flagship" models. TI 4.8 patrol 73 kay and TI Max. 53 kay. Whilst that may sound a large sum to some people we both know it can also be viewed as chicken shit to others. I buy them simply because they offer by far the best bang for buck in the industry and i keep them for far far longer than the average buyer. ( my last 2 patty's were traded at 470,000 kay and 712,000 kay respectively, As for service, i couldnt give a rodent's ring who services them. I mostly do my own unless it requires some specialist attention. Nissan offer these vehicles at a price and offer a level of service to match that price. If you are not happy with that level you have the previously stated options. Dont buy it or take it elsewhere. I have learned to live with their lack of service and am happy to do so in the full knowledge that i am buying vehicles that best suit my needs. The GTR will not get its own Franchise, What it will get is limited outlets within the current structure with a specialist spanner to take care of the very limited number of vehicles they will sell. He will double duty as a mainstream spanner in between GTR's. So what chance do you think the Z car has. Try Buckleys. Nissan have only taken very limited steps on the road to recovery from the debacle of the bluebird, pulsar, prarie, fiasco that eventually saw them booted from manufacturing in this country, beaten by lesser companys at the time like Mitsi. It is still a long road before we see them regain the creds on the local scene they have in some of their international and domestic markets. It all works in my favor as i can buy a far more durable vehicle than most can make for less bucks than most ask. The only downside is again that "service" Overcome that and you are laughing. I know I am.

Soutta my hands now Adam. My pet farkin hate. Workshops that book your car and leave it laying around the workshop. If they have my car they are working on it or its at my place.

Good call Col. What you need to do is start a new thread Listing your mods. You could also throw up pics of your dyno runs showing boost etc. Then toss in the time slips showing those 10 second 130 mph passes and that will shut the farkers up.
