Thanks for the help guys I took out the dash and I found that these two wires wern't connected. I connected them and the lights came on Here is the pic, the wires are the black one and the red one (I know its a bad soldering job but I'm a noob with it lol)

I just got my speedo cable replaced on my R32, and driving home at night from work I turn on my lights and my headlights turn on, but the dash lights are off! The clock on the dash was working and had light, but I couldn't see how fast I was going, or how much petrol I had or anything else on the dash! What could the problem be?? ordered the cable form nissan parts and arrived last week, but mechanic wants $80 just to replace it and apperantly it takes only 5 mins to do it :S

done all working now and back to normal, thanks for everyone's help

where abouts on the gear box? is it near the pedals or the shift stick?

Are R32 GTS and GTS-T speedo cables the same ??

same problem with me, do i have to replace the speedo instrument cluster as a whole or just the speedo cable?? how do i know if the speedo cable is gone and is the problem?

My speedo doesn't work and power steering turns off after 2 mins of driving. Can someone tell me if my speedo cable is broken, I have taken these pics that might help: EDIT:: I also had the problem that my car turned off, but cleaned the AFM so hopefully it doesn't confuse people about posts lol
