  1. What do you guys think about the Carbonetic/ATS (same company) Carbon LSD? They are really popular with the 350z(Fairlady Z) and now starting to catch on with the Supras and Silvias. Anyone test one on any year GTR?
  2. Wow some of those lists are ridiculous. Haha some of those parts are not even needed. The arc radiator?? $1600.00?? thanks but no thanks a koyo radiator will do fine. The intercooler will be custom made by XS Engineering. Like i said the V-Cam would be one of the last upgrades so i really dont need that. Like ive said for the hundreth time the hks 2.8l step 3 kit IS NOT MY ONLY CHOICE hello the tomei one costs 5k and seems to be just as good. Lastly i do not want a HKS t51 turbine. If im going single turbo im getting a kit from Full-Race which comes with a twin scroll manifold so the bigger turbos like the GT40R, GT42R can spool up somewhat quicker. Also the jun surge tank rather get the Full-Race surge tank with the 102mm throttle body. I would like to thank everyone for there time and knowledge i did learn a lot more about what it takes to make massive hp on an rb26dett. However as i said before the 350z project isnt going and if I was going to do it then i would have gone with a huge build up. My definte project is swapping the rb26dett w/rb25det into my s14. Ill just stick with the 2.6 and get aftermarket pistons and rods. Work the head. 600hp in a 2900lb rwd should be more than enough to fly on the highway and be a total sleeper. Thanks again. p.s. saw that the prices for the nengun list where in AUD so im not sure how much that equates to the dollar.
  3. Can you even get N1 blocks anymore? I thought they stopped production.
  4. lol i dont necessarily have to get the hks step 3 2.8l. Thats why ive been asking about the tomei 2.8l stroker kit and how much hp it can hold and how high it can rev. Its about 2k cheaper than then the hks kit.
  5. Thanks for the replys guys im starting to get an idea. So the front end is going to be the tricky part but the rear end should be straight foward. Also to the guy that said the RB might make the handling of the 350z worse is incorrect unless you have factual evidence or data to back that claim up. The zele car had a very neutral feeling and the drivers that test it said they hoped the new GT-R had the same handling.
  6. I understand what everyones saying. I did start a couple of threads. The 350z with the rb26dett awd is a dream car and i was jsut trying to see what everyone says. If that plan doesnt go through which it most likely isnt i will defintley be swapping a rb26dett into my 240sx. However im not going to go that crazy on the motor then. If i did the 350z swap then i would get the hks step 3 2.8l and the V-Cam. I do have the loot. I have about 20k to spend.
  7. How much will a GT-R Drivetrain from an r32 cost me? A engine clip for the a rb26dett with everything included is about 4-5k. I can get an r33 one for about 4.5k. So how much is the drivetrain, front and rear suspension, transfer case, axles and anything else needed from an r32 gonna cost. I will be doing all the labor with my buddy who works for nissan and his co-workers. His co-workers can weld and fabricate things. The only thing i will pay for is the wiring service since i cant wire for my life.
  8. I just the best motoring with the HKS R34. The V-Cam is a pretty amazing component however it is something that i would get after everything else was modded.
  9. what about the tomei 2.8l stroker kit, how much can hp can it withstand? how high can it rev?
  10. what about twin hks 3037s. How bad would the lag be on a HKS Step 3 2.8l.
  11. Okay i know the stage III HKS 2.8L Stroker kit can rev supposedly to 12,000rpm (of coure if the head is prepped to handle it) What about the Tomei kit. I wanna rev to 9.5-10k. I want a big single turbo. Basically i want a highway monster but i dont want something that will lag retardley. I want something that can also handle since i will be taking this car to the tracks. I think a TO4Z with the 1.00 A/R or the GT3582R is what im looking at.
  12. its says the V-Cam came out in 2006. Thats seems pretty new to me. i just want to know if anyone has used it and if the benefits are worth the price.
  13. Yea i would say its pretty easy especially with the motor/tranny mount set coming out. A couple of guys who swapped in rb26detts (using rb25det tranny) with the motor/tranny mount kit by JE Import Performance have said that the rb26dett sits in perfectly. So yea i dont think its that hard. RB26DETTS have been swapped into datsun 240, 260 and 280z and those are tiny cars compared to the GT-R or 350Z. So i dont see why putting it in the 350z is really that hard. Now to make it AWD easily, cheaply and hassle free thats the million dollar question.
  14. Im asking around because i have searched multiple nissan, 350z forums and no one really has any info on it. There is a company here in the states not to far from me that is bringing out a production kit of the motor/tranny set for the rb26dett. Fitting the rb26dett in the 350z isnt that hard. What i want to know is what parts do i need to get wether it be OEM or custom made to fit the gt-r drivetrain. When seeing the BMI GT-R prodigy the underbody of the ZELE z33 really didnt look to modified. The transmission tunnel was widen and some other little body mods but nothing to horrible. So i dont think its way over anyones head. Especially that my buddy is really good mechanic at Nissan and has done multiple sr20det swaps as well as having co-workers who are really good at welding and fabricating. As long as we do all the labor work shouldnt be ridiculously exspensive. Or i could be all wrong.
