  1. If you pay the fine after you get your full licence you should be fine. I was in a similar situation, and i waited until after I got my blacks to pay the fine and I still have my licence. That was over 6 months ago. The RTA even sent me a letter saying I was running out of points (or had too many, however you want to put it) but that was based on the 12 you can have on a full licence. The offence that put me over the limit for points on green p's was for a missing p plate as well, so it's not as if they wouldn't have noticed that it happened before I got my full licence.

  2. Cool...

    Thanks guys!!

    and the next question..

how to get to the DASH???

which screws to remove to remove the DASH surround???

    :D

You have to take the whole dash off. Start with the screws behind the ashtray, pop the console bit off then pull the rest of it off. There is a bit of jiggling needed to get it to come off, mainly due to the steering wheel. This must be adjusted down to give extra room.

After that, the rest of the screws are easy to see.

  3. I know this topic has been discussed before but this time i would like to know some of the legal aspects. Some questions that come to mind are - Can the vehicle be crushed if.

The vehicle was purchased with a secure car loan so technically the bank owns the vehicle.?

Thats actually an interesting thought. I suspect that the banks wouldn't be overly pleased with their security being crushed. I presume that the banks would try to avoid securing finance against 'high risk' vehicles, however the recent vehicles in the news that have been caught for street racing have included commodores, charade, camry etc showing that the partictular make of car has little bearing on wether it will be used in such an activity.

  4. A hypothetical question…

What do you reckon the family of that couple killed in the incident earlier this week in Western Sydney- "allegedly" as a result of one or more persons street racing- think of this topic?

I have no in depth knowledge of this case- other than what I have read & researched in the last few days.

However, the friends and family of Alan and Judith Howle now have a very good understanding of this topic. And like them, I wouldn't care if someone stopped the "alleged" idiot/s well before they got to the point of harming someone- the method of catching them is in my opinion a technicality.

You decide how you act and react on the roads- no one else.

Is it more or less dangerous to misbehave when you’re challenged to a ‘race’ on the street by a cop? Who cares- you’re still misbehaving, in my opinion.

Put another way (which I think I’ve said before) if you are stupid enough to engage in what is deemed as criminal activity on the roads - you are still breaking the law and it’s fair game if you get caught. Whether you’re being egged on or not by a cop is just a technicality.

You have the choice of ignoring the behaviour of the other driver- cop or not- it seriously should not matter.

We all have free will and hopefully some judgement- we should exercise it.

Apparently it’s what makes us different from all the other animals.

Take the recent situation as mentioned above,

This does indeed show the potential greusome consequences of street racing.

    Hypothetical question....

If the accident occured as a result of a street race that was initiated by an undercover policeman, what do you think the family of the couple killed would think of this topic?

Although a majority of the time an accident won't occur due to a police induced street race, there is always a possibility that it could all turn pear shaped, just like any other street race.

  5. Agreed that scathing was right and the other guy didn't get it.

    This bit was funny: :laughing-smiley-014:

Yet they still manage to catch wife beaters without f**king a bloke's wife so he'll get emotional, lose control, and beat the shit out of her

It is definitely wrong for the police to initiate the race in my opinion.

  6. how do i install a switch?

Get a switch that is 'single polarity dual throw' i.e.

    on

    off

    on

There will be three positions on the back to connect the wires to.

The midddle is where you connect the wire to the solenoid.

The top and bottom positions are used for a wire to ground and the wire connected to the ecu (the other end of the solenoid wire that you cut.)

It doesn't matter which of these two go at either end.

    I wired mine

    ground

    solenoid

    ECU

this means that when the switch is pushed foward, the boost is controlled by the ECU,

when it is pushed back, the solenoid is grounded i.e. full boost always,

and when it is in the middle, it will always be low boost.

There is more about this earlier in the thread I think.
