  3. Lol.... nice one but am I the only dude out there who doesnt see the point of burnouts? *blinks* even a fwd can do a burnout and all yr doing is destroying a functional piece of the car that costs a decent amount of cash... Or maybe Im just associating burnouts with commodores and hence bogans and inbreeding ;\ -D

Would it perhaps be the lack of contact similar to the lack of contact both myself and nightcrawler experienced when trying to plan a fishing trip with some SAU members? -D

  14. If you're serious about getting value for money, or furthering your career, you will want to really think about secondary courses. Many people I know have ended up working professionally in their secondary subjects. Think about it. Getting something that compliments your main profession can not only augment your primary choices, it could pave the way for a career change later on. -D
  15. I'm no psychologist, but its frigging obvious. The old saying 'the enemy of my enemy is my friend' is the overruling creed, and whomever is the bigger threat, is bound to face people who otherwise would be diametrically opposed.... The victorian police chief (Christine Nixon) predicted this would happen and now that it has, we hear sod all about it on the news... The sad thing is our media are the most complicit in whitewashing. If there was a single objective "journalist" worth his/her salt, they would expose this crap. But sadly theyre more interested in who paris hilton is f**king. -D
  16. I cant agree here. Both Nightcrawler and sled have conflicts of interest, not to mention a full time job and a family. Its unfair to expect them to donate more time than they already spend. Seriously. Its a forum. hardly anyone here is a financial donor to sau (myself included) so its pretty rich of anyone expecting anything from the mods. I'm glad Nene has the fortitude to follow this thru, and believe me shes doing it for the greater good. If thats not enough for you, then i'm wasting my words. I'll help as much as I can, but I too have a job and a life. That will take priority. -D
  17. got pix man? -D
  18. I'd turn it down because I sincerely enjoy the arguments too much ;D -D
  19. I must agree. I really hate it when I'm cruising along at the same speed as everyone else, same noise, and the police in front of me pull over to the left, drop back, get behind me and chunk up the lights.... its a bit suss.... and yes, i spend probably 50% of my non taxable income on the car.... and i work my azz off for the honor... suspected defects, i suspect, are probably the main cause of malcontent of the community. Fair enough if something is blatantly illegal, but if an officer who knows nothing pulls you over and gives you a canary for something that is legal, you >still< have to pay that money at regency... i was under the impression the magistrates court would be able to arbitrate such things, but since the offences are classes as trivial, they dont get to any form of court. -D
  20. +1 for heslo, because he nominated me. paybacks a bitch son ;D -D
  21. Yeah, you would, wouldn't you ;P *kicks in nuts* -D
  22. +1 SLED and Nightcrawler -D
  23. I'd also ask about the legislation regarding modifications which actually make the car safer... why it is we get defected for 'non standard air boxes', 'blow off valves' etc, stuff which is blatantly OK... Coilovers are a good case in point. I spoke to a bloke at pedders last week and he was saying that pedders have been arguing with regency for the last 18 months about coilover laws. There actually is no written legislation about coilovers being illegal, even adjustible ones. When pressed, a regency employee admitted that it was an 'unwritten regency rule'... so I dare ask, how can we get our mods approved without fear of defecting? An engineers certificate would be great but so too would be some kind of report from regency you can keep in the car, perhaps with photos, that show which modifications are allowed to be kept on. It'd save the unnecessary defects. I'd also be asking them advice about PR and also what their position is on several things (which I won't go into here) pertaining to public perception and media. Not sure how relevant that would be to SAU but its more a point of personal curiosity. -D
  24. This is cool to have a response. Tho I know that some cars have been defected for ADR approved items (such as braided brake lines) which begs the question whether there are more laws onto of the ADR's (which as I understand it, are separate to state roadworthiness guidelines - federal roadworthiness guide is rather thin compared to the state one)... I'd like to know if the police are aware of any plans to nationalise the roadworthiness scheme rather than having a huge disparity between the states. I here rumors here and there but nothing concrete. I'd also like to know what the police's input into motor racing venues are, given the debate in the other thread about WA's motorplex Would be curious to see if Neil has any statistics about makes and models of cars defected, to see if theres patterns or not, as I wonder if the old shitboxes attract as much attention as imports. -D
