  1. Here is a picture of the engine swap I'm getting. It is an AWD RB25DET with an automatic tranny. I am having the guy take off the AWD transmission and send me everything, then I will convert it to RWD. I will keep the Auto ECU then..
  2. Yes, the mechanical side would be all sorted out. I've also been told the automatic ECU works fine. Anyone confirm that? I need to know ASAP because I have auto R33 engine swap on hold for me, yet it's an automatic. BTW, I noticed in your post in my last thread that you said that all RB25DET's are RWD... what about the Stagea Wagon with the AWD RB25DET? Do they have those in aussie land? Thanks btw. (getting ready to sleep hehe)
  3. Lets say I have a complete automatic R33 RB25DET harness with the automatic ecu. If I were to convert to 5 speed, would a 5 speed R33 RB25DET ecu plug directly into the automatic harness? I know some of the auto wiring will not be used if so... Just trying to figure out how hard it would be to convert a auto Rb25DET to 5 speed. If anyone has any OTHER information too, please post. I'll be searching in the mean time as well. Thanks. EDIT: I also deleted and reposted this thread btw. The first one had some funny mistakes. I've been awake over 25 hours now. :tired:
  4. 51Jay, thanks! If anyone else has one personally they'd be willing to ship, lemme know, ay.
  5. I'm wondering if there is anyone here that could possibly source me a GOOD R33 or R34 5 speed RB25DET transmission (with pictures) and have it shipped to america? I would pay for everything. I'm sorry if this is in the wrong forum, I hope you guys can understand how hard it is to get this stuff here. Thanks
  6. thanks. You mean the oil pan? Pickup? I'm not too sure. It'll be going into a 240 (of course)
  7. I did some searching and I couldn't find any examples or proof that an RB25 transmission will work with the RB26. Yes, I live in the US. I just need to know for sure or not, please let me know guys. I can't think of a reason it wouldn't work considering it is still from an RB series engine.
  8. The ITR will always be faster than the CTR. With equal drivers that is. But dropping the B18c into a civic type r will yeild even better results. I'm not even speaking about the DC5/EP3's because we (here in America) don't have the privilege of owning them. I have an ITR engine in my 99 civic.. and it's great. I don't race it, but I'd like to. It's decently quick. Definetely a powerfull high revving engine. Also, here in America, the insurance on ITR's is insane for most people because it's loved by criminals everywhere. I'm selling mine for a 240 though. I'm tired of FWD. If I could have a skyline though, I'd take it in a heartbeat. You guys are so lucky. EDIT: I forgot to mention, FWD hondas are not easy to launch. (for the drag racers) It takes some getting used to. Having an LSD like the ITR/CTR helps BIG TIME. Sticky tires are a must. And for those even asking about whether the ITR/CTR would keep up in the straights with a skyline, there is no way. It might be close, but the skyline will come out on top.
  9. lol. Yes the RB26 civic is gonna be the first ever. Thanks for the replies. Sounds like the trannys are notchy, but they work. That doesn't scare me as long as they do not grind like hell and it will go into the right gear when I want it to. (and stay there). As for the project.. it'll actually be *drum roll* a 240sx. Early 90's model..
  10. This is just a general question. I live in America.. and I might do a project in the future that involves the RB powerplant.. although I haven't decided on which one yet. But that's besides the point . I'm a huge tranny freak though.. I wan't to know what to expect from a tranny I've never driven before. So.. TYPICALLY.. can you guys maybe tell me how they shift? I'm talking about notchiness, grinding, bad synchros, smoothness, whatever. Any help is appreciated. On a side note, this is my first post so "hello"! I drive a 99 civic w/ JDM ITR swap and a few boltons. Looking to move onto bigger and better things.
