  1. Just do it. My step brother is a conspiracy theory nut and it cost 12k for each baby. 24k later and he still refuses lol.
  2. Spicy or GTFO
  3. I'm with medibank corporate through NAB
  4. If you get seriously ill... It's house deposit money. I'm not even kidding
  5. I have the absolute top cover... I can tell you it's worth it. I nearly died in the public system... and my medical bills were HUUUUUGE after a few weeks in private.
  6. If a bitch think's you're the one Mohsen.. she definitely needs a doctor
  7. da fark is wrong wit chu? What happens if you get sick? like proper sick? Also if you and Danielle have a baby are you really willing to go public? might as well get private now as virtually all funds have a 12 month wait for Obstetrics It's not about being forced to have it, yes you get penalised for not having it but that's a call you can make. it's about getting the best care if shit goes down. and CBF is not even close to an excuse, you pick a major fund, and call them. done
  8. I don't think anyone has patience for people that prioritise booze and ciggies over bills/health. I would say that this is by far the minority of the financial hardship I see... but I still see far too much of it.
  9. double post fail
  10. Tell me this again when you are 64
  11. Totally agree
  12. Sorry Al but you are wrong. For you right now $7 is insignificant... that's great... but what about poorer people? You can sit atop your gilded throne all you want regurgitating LNP propaganda, but what about real life? What about the guy that was a successful businessman (perhaps even a real estate agent) who's wife died during childbirth and who now can not work as he needs to provide 24/7 care to his child? Perhaps he also had a special needs child? He is now trying to live on $~500 a fortnight. Even after the house is sold and the rent takes pretty much the entire government payment, a $7 doctors visit is still insignificant? Or the pensioner living on the same amount that needs to see a doctor almost weekly for scripts etc? Or the guy who got injured and now can't work anymore? I can tell you right now when I was an apprentice working in fine dining I couldn't afford an extra $7. There was a point where i was getting paid $270 a week before tax, working 80 hours and paying rent. I used bulk billing doctors, paid my utility bills and bought veggies at the cheap grocer to get through the week. Money was well gone within a day of being paid every week. I think what Matt was getting at is that it is one of the pillars of a 1st world society that we are able to look after our needy... and not have them begging or turning to prostitution like in the slums of India etc.
  13. I don't reckon the spill will get up.
  14. You never know. I would say with MT at the helm they could make it through another term. It also makes Abbot the scapegoat for anything that goes wrong
  15. Turnball just announced he will run if a spill is successful. Cryptic of course.... but it was there
  16. Austin Powers jokes aside it actually was the Dutch. They invented "hardstyle" then bogan Australia had something moronic enough to attract them to the rave scene. Jesus wept, and BOOM it was over
  17. actually, I think I'm thinking of an ep of "Breakout" on foxtel
  18. I think i know the one you are referring to... will yry to think of the name
  19. I used to be about the music Adam. But then the music changed. I blame the Dutch
  20. It may have been, i am unsure. Problem is morons will flock to emergency departments which will cripple an already underfunded system. It's not right, but it's what will happen.
  21. Private surgical procedurs arent entirely privately funded. They also get a large rebate from the government for every procedure. I dont see why someone charging $1000/h and sometimes more still gets govenrment "assistance" in the way of medicare claims. And you may happily pay $100 for a doctor, but what about someone on the pension? There is no cooperation. From ALP or LNP.
  22. I agree the loopholes for non payment of HECS should be closed, charging interest AND allowing uni's to set their own fee scales is a terrible idea. The last thing we want is a lack of educated people due to the fear of a small house sized interest accruing loan, and then importing half-ass qualified people from overseas. Paying for a doctor is fine for some, but there are peope that genuinely can not afford this. Scheme was badly implemented by people who just simply can not imagine $5 being significant. Also GP's do not earn what people think... why not remove a good $50 from private surgeon medicare rebates instead for example? Or do the co-payment at tax time and base it on a $ threshold? Let's not forget Abbot/Hockey wanted to make it $20 aswell, and tried to slide it through quickly without people noticing. High level tax avoidance loopholes needed to be closed as well. Remember that $800m we let Rupert take? And Ikea not taking a profit for a decade? There is PLENTY of cash available from big business. Not that I'm suggesting this is a budget issue, just that there is cash available. Those 2 clowns Abbot and Hockey haven't even managed to pass half their hudget and the next one is due in 3 months. This is not due to Labor blocking it, it's simply because it's badly done. I know you are dutily bound to like them as a one eyed liberal supporter but why not step outside the box one in a while? LNP in it's current guide is simply NOT good for Australia and unfortunately neither are the ALP.
  23. The jets were budgeted for years ago and both parties were committed... but then we went and ordered 58 more.... it's a LOT of money that could have been better appropriated. Yes it's an age of entitlement, no one can doubt that, but we need to have welfare, it's simply not avoidable I agree we need to look into fixing the budget, but the approach has been deplorable and has also all but guaranteed a Labor government will return very shortly. .
