  1. hey guys just wondering if u can help me out i have searched and found nuthing and if u know of a thread containing this imfomation point me towards it but if not ur help would be great, ok so im slowly building a rb30det and will be using spool forged rods with froged cp pistons 20th over and acl race bearings, now i would like sum sugestions in the likes of getting sumone to machine and build the bottom end for me i have oil restrictors fitted already and have a crank collar to be fitted by machinest (undecided yet) and the crank also has a little bit of surface rust on a couple of the journals i think they are called excuse the spelling. will that just be able to be linished off its only on the surface not like ruff or nything. so any engine builder u have used and recomend in the QLD area would be nice to hear about.

  3. hey mate shoot a pm to (r33 racer) he has a dry sump set up on his rb30/26 i no its not a rb25 but very similar he may be able to tell u a bit about it
  4. yeh mate i will be doing that mod asap see if it helps and i think i could find a few ppl i dnt like to strap to the front gaurd haha love that idea, anyways thanx for your help with this issue uve been a great help

GTST, i have a print out and i scaned it but it didnt bring up the numers like on the x and y axis and it wnt upload it for sumreason from wha ti can see it runs approx on 12 till the car hits 120kmh then it dips to 11.5 and slowy rises back up to 12 towards 170kmh, and no there has been no modifications since this tune all i have done is change the oil and its running the same oil just new stuff, it had new plugs gapped at 0.8mm and the mods include fmic/3inch dump pipe/3.5inch cat back, stock cat, apexi safc, pod filter, boost controller set at 11.5psi
  6. hey guys well i do have a piggy back computer its an safc it is tuned well was about 3 mnths ago so yes i think im up for a retune but dnt want to go anywear hear again. thanx for all the input guys and yeh im not 100% if it was piniging or not but only one way to find out i guess (dyno)
  7. 1400r. oh thats very helpful info i didnt think the ecu did that on the skyline never read about it b4 thats all but it makes sence, thanx for your help guys i guess i need to run it on dyno again n get a retune, the last place that did it are a bunch of ................. only went there cause they are the only place in my town with a dyno but i will travel this time

  9. if its hooked up the worng way u will have full boost all the time, which way does the flow arrow point on ur boost controler if it points towards the actuator its right i think from memory i havnt looked at mine in a while. when i installed min ei could only wind it down to a min of 10psi cos of the exhaust apperently when u get a free flowing exhaust ur boost will creep up a bit
  10. hey guys, just wondering if anyone else has had this problem before, i was racing my car at the drags and had no traction so i ran a 14.6 at 163km/h but anyways when i went to do my 5th run for the day i hit 4th gear and it just didnt wanna rev like it had lost all its power wouldnt gain speed or rev's. and im pretty shore while i was holding threw 3rd it was pinging i could hear a slight taping noise all the way threw 3rd. now i just wanna know why i had no power in 4th?????? it was 1.30pm and probly 30'c max that night i went for a drive and went threw all the gears hard and it didnt miss a beat pulled all the way threw 4th ??????? whats going on
  11. ok so i still have this problem its studering when cold at 200rpm and when its warm and you get into it at 3000 ish it has a bit of a dip or pause in revs just stay there for a second then they keep going. also whilst going up a hill at 60 kph in 4th it will start to studder but the revs will not noticebly move, i will clean the afm tomorrow but i dnt thik its going to make any different has any one got any ideas, ???? its not the turbo on the way out is it.??
  12. hey yeh from what i have read in previouse post's in the rb30det descusion u can simply place your exisitng sensors etc into your rb26 head.
  13. all i can say is what was he on when he thought of that crazy idea. that flywheel is about as thick as an auto flex plate.
  14. are you talking about the harmonic balancer or the timing belt gear that is press fitted on a key to the crank ? if its the gear u basically have to break it to get it off. on my rb30 block i tried drilling and tapping holes into the front of it to use a pulle rto pull it off all that acheaved was a few bent bolts and eventuall ythe treads just pulle dout i ened up drilling holes into the gear from front to back adjacent from each other so basicly one rwo at the top of the gear and one at the bottom then smack it witha cold chisel and it will break in two. i know this sounds ruff but i asked this question a while ago in the rb30det thread and this seems to be the way a lot of people have done this
  15. yeh its funny ay i have just had new plugs put in probly a month ago with a tune so im assuming that the plugs and timing is ok. may possible be a dirty afm.

  17. ok so storie goes s1 r33 skyline normal mods fmic exhaust/dump boost at 12psi tuned apexi safc about it i think. anyways just laty it has started to hesitate and miss when just slowly exelerating while cold like when you come onto about 2000 - 3000 rpm ny wear arround there it will just stop exelerating and start to studder and as soon as you back off or change gears its fine once its warmed up its fine. also the occasionly it fluctuates at idle like say from 1000rpm to 400ish the other day it got so low it stalled just sitting in neutral in my drive way and it was warm at thats stage. usually only does this while cold. any one know how to fix this problem i dnt think its a boost leak beacause its still fine while warm and giving it a good hard drive.
  18. yeh i no it will make the power im just thinking about how usable th epower will be if i get the .82 housing will it be to snappy and just = tyre smoke or will it be smooth. i wanna be able to get most of the power to the ground lol
  19. you could probly get away with it for a little while but i would be getting it tuned asap better safe than sorry it beats blowing up your motor because u didnt get it tuned. not saying its gunna happen but worse case cenario you no what i mean
  20. hey guys just a quik question. im going to be buying a garrett gt35/40 and im not shore wheather to go .82 or 1.06 exhaust housing i will be using the stock exhaust manifold with foolboost's adapter plate to suit so i no 300rwkw will be about all the stock manifold has but that all i want so its all good just wondering if the .82 housing will allow it to spool faster but will it cause a flow restriction more so than the stock exhaust manifold?
  21. yeh thats what i was thinking dnt do it cheap it will break. im buying an addapter off foolboost to mount the gt35/40 low and also have an external gate position with a dump pipe and oil lines etc for a good price
  22. well i have an idea its a bit out side the box but hear goes depending on how tight it is your could get a flat screw driver that is small enough to fit between the allow hole and heat the end of the screw driver up red hot and melt a new slot into the plastic scew let it cool off and then adjust it if that makes sence. dnt push to hard when screw driver is red hot dont wana push right threw it lol. hope that makes sence and works
  23. ok so i was just wondering how good the just jap external waste gates are (38mm) and also the high mount manifolds? the reason i am asking is becasue i will be fitting a gt35/40 to my rb25/30 and i dnt think it will fit low mount. i was looking at a 6boost manifold and a turbosmart gate but for the price difference i dunno im only looking to make arround 300rwkw so if i can save a bit of money with out hindering the performance of my new motor that would be great cos as you guys would no were not all made of money. thanx
  24. hey guys well i dunno if its just a boost leak or me being paranoid. well when my car is half warm it wnt boost probly like it feels like really bad lag then it just snaps on boost n goes like a roket i think that is a boost leak hoping anyways.... and then while driving at a low speed say 40kmph in 2nd 3rd and 4th it gets really jumpy like it studers on and off randomly as well as driving up a hill and just comin gon boost it will slightly hesitate and miss a little bit. the car is running 11.5 psi boost has been tuned to run this boost with safc. is it just a boost leak or is the turbo on its way out? the car has 88000ks. just one random note today i was cheking my oil just habit while under the bonnet and for some reason i took the oil filler cap off and out of no wear there was part of a leaf of a tree type leaf on top of a the roker arm under the oil filler cap. i dnt think thats very good for an oil system f**ks me how it got there.
  25. hey mate you have 2 options basicly slideing performance or gcg i dnt have any idea about gcg but i no that slide has a very good high flow turbo. go to the forsale section and he is a trader on the site u will see it and just hav a look threw that to get an idea and contact him. i think they are about 1100 i think the garrett highflow is about $2200 i may be wrong
