    That looks awesome! Well done.
  2. Obviously anything I say isn't going to sway your one eyed opinion, so I won't bother replying after this. The only thing that dissapoints me is how you call it a no-name car & ebay car, as I have said above, its a HSP 1/10 drift car, yes its sold on ebay and so is every other brand of car, so is every brand of car an ebay car and therefore a no-name brand? you can bag out cheaper cars all you like, but a beginner isn't going to drift like a pro just because they have a pro car, everybody has to start somewhere and thats what I cater for. Of course I'm not going to take up your offer to race a Pro driver with a pro car vs a cheap car with novice driver. Same goes if you were to come and race offroad against me, I could give you a $3,000 pro buggy and kick you with a $300 ebay special. If you have drivers with the same skill level using different cars then it would be a fair contest, personally I wouldn't waste my time if the club is full of narrow minded brand snobs like yourself.
  3. It's funny you say that, I actually sell parts to hobby shops, and one particular hobby shop in bayswater has been selling the cars aswell as HPI & Tamiya and they love them. Once again categorising cars as an ebay car is just ignorant, you can pick up any brand of car on ebay. Talking about a car that broke a world record is good and all, but doesn't answer the original question of where to get a decent cheap drifter from, like I said above, there are those that buy ferrari's and will argue until they are blue in the face that its the best on the road because they have spent a fortune, then there are those who are passionate about a cheaper car and wipe the smile off a ferarri owners face. Your the ferrari owner, I'm the 600rwkw skyline
  4. I can see your point of view, everybody can only make their own judgement by their own experiences, have you actually driven a HSP Drift car? categorising it as an ebay car doesn't mean anything, you can buy a TT01 off ebay too. I can only go by my customers feedback, here is a prime example from my forum: http://www.plaig.com.au/phpbb/viewtopic.php?f=36&t=4886 The HSP drift cars have only been around for a few months and there aren't many out there yet, I am a sponsored offroad buggy driver, I drive the HSP 1/8 buggy and 1/10 buggy and won our club championship in both classes last year, the 1/8 buggy is a $400 buggy and I was against some with $3,000 buggies, its not always what you drive but how you can drive and setup knowledge. I haven't got into drifting much yet, I don't intend on competing seriously but I would like to attend a club day and have a try. I have fiddled with the cambers on the HSP car and can confidentally say that it does make a difference, if the standard setup of the TT01 is that there is 0 degrees camber then that is fine for drifting, but if it has 1 or 2 degrees then you would want to adjust it to 0 as I found that the best after putting my car on a setup station and trying a few different setups. As with real drift cars, having more setup options can be an advantage to suit different tracks. I'm not in the business of ripping people off either, I have nothing but praise from all my customers.
  5. A TT-01 is not really a cheap option unless you come across a hopped up one 2nd hand thats still not going to be cheap, they don't even come with adjustable camber unless you buy the upgrades for it, at least the cheapies have that already fitted. The HSP ones also have carbon fibre chassis, upper plates & shockboards available, there are complete alloy front ends & rear ends, CVD Driveshafts, there is even a PBS version to allow for more adjustments similar to a Kyosho V1RRR, arguing about this is like holden vs ford, your obviously a Tamiya supporter so there is no point arguing with you, anything I say will be wrong from your point of view and I understand because its easy to assume that everything else is crap when you own the best. As with everything there is a cheaper option and in many cases that cheaper option can be as good. EG a highly modded skyline vs Ferarri, we all know which is cheaper and which will win, but tell that to a Ferrari owner. Sorry I forgot to mention that my sister gave me her login info to answer some PM's about this.
  6. I spoke to my brother about where the cars originate from, he said the nitro version of the drift car is a copy of the HPI RS4, they then converted their version into an electric. He agrees with some things you have said, the wobble in the wheels was a real problem to begin with due to brass bushes, he replaces them with proper ball bearings now so the wobbly wheel problem is no longer a problem. We have had hours of fun with these and he has all replacement and upgrade parts in stock, he even sells brushless motors & speed controllers, I don't know what that is but its very fast!
  7. Hey my brother owns his own business and he specialises in RC cars. He has all types from drift to off road buggys. Nice and affordable too!! He has all upgrade parts available and he even runs in your car and tunes it for you too depending on which car you like. PM me if you would like any more details. He currently has Electric Drift cars going for $199. Here is his website : http://www.plaig.com.au
