  1. I was having dinner at the pancake kitchen sunday night dude, next thing i know all these f**king pixies n dyk looking woman weilding huge hammars n sporting caps n shit started walking around the place. Thought shit was about to go down but later found out about that avcon thing haha.

  2. hose has come off behind the dash or the plug fell out. To the left of the steering where theres a little vent on the dash, theres rubber hose that connects to it and a small plug with a resitor in the end of it. The AC uses this to work out what tempreature it is inside the cabin. without it it just defaults to full hot.

Pull your dash out and check that there both pluged in.

    Jack

  3. talk is useless

does anyone have vids of these mv shift kits being used?

A fellow SAU memeber took me for a ride in his that had the vavle bodies fitted. It really was savage haha chirped 2nd no matter what you do.

The 5 speed has 2-3-D+O/D & when left in 2nd the auto ecu selects from 1-2 for you.

Mine has the 5 speed, id rather have the abilitly to select 1 2 or 3 on its own insted of first and seccond being selected by the ECU.

  4. You will need to look at the harmonic distortion ratio of the Amplifier , that can determine alot of difference in the clarity of sound. for instance mine is 0.0016 most amplifiers are 0.1% monoblocks 0.2% ( doesnt matter much for subs) you will also need to look at the voltage pre amp output. so you can dial out interference on the amplifier and also get a clearer sound. I use a line Driver so I get a 8 volt output however most headunit only have like a 2 or 3v output. You will also need to look into the frequency range of your speakers and sub etc

    My preference would be

Clarion Headunit (great value for money) ~250$ for aux in/usb/ipod

Blaupunkt ODC6.5 (excelent splits sound really really good!!silk dome tweeter, adjustable crossover) ~$200 if you can find them(discontinued)

Blaupunkt GTA280 (great sounding amp, decent RMS output, good harmonic distortion rate and gold terminals etc)suits the speakers really well also (`220$ I think??)

Aepro 4Ga Wiring kit(OFC cables decent RCAs splitloom, remote on etc etc) `80$

    Aepro 4Ga splitter (25$)

Aepro ground loop isolater (10$) get rid of some interferance

Earthquake DBXII 12 inch sub, (dual voice coil, LOTS of excursion, good at low frequencies etc)excelent value for money!! I think ours go for under 300$ :s cant remember.

DNA Ported box similar to EQ subs requirements (~80$)

may I ask why not rear speakers?, will sound much better!

Your not going to be able to tell the difference betweena an amp that is 0.010% and 0.10% harmonic distortion when the cars being driven around lol. Just about every name brand amp being sold now days is way below audible to the average joe so its not even worth concerning yourself over.

EDIT: Obveiously it depends how far you push the amp, the harder you push it the more THD it will produce, Hence why a company will rate there amplifier at say 100wrms at 4 ohms @ 0.010% THD then a max power rating of say 200wrms at 4ohm @ 0.10% THD.

  5. thats a pretty gay install. those speaker pods on your parcel shelf are a total abortion.

Wow havnt been on here for a while, can't beleve your still on here talking shit. In your infinate wisdom did it not pop into your head that he may be glassing these pods?

You know what i love about morons like yourself? You're either too damn stupid, or too lazy to type complete words instead of typing like a 13 year old trying to score with a hot chick on a chat room. Instead of sounding like a complete retard, you could have written a coherent response, rather than just rolling your face across the keyboard and hoping a sentence comes out afterwards.

If you knew anything about car audio, you'd know that no matter what you do, the port on that box will make that woofer very peaky and have limited response. I doubt you've checked the phase plot or graphed the frequency response, being that you need more than a peanut sized brain to do so. Your parcel shelf that you've built is far too thick to sit flush against the rear window, and as for your choice of mounting, thats a lot of effort for no gain in SQ and a really ugly way to obscure your vision. For the record, i have sold hundreds of custom boot fit outs, i know what looks good in a car and what looks like crap. I've seen many home jobs and yours is nothing flash.

If you knew anything about cars, you'd also realise what others have pointed out. It will weigh a lot, and make your car handle like a bag of shit, as well as ruining your rear shocks and other suspension components.

So mate, don't paste a thread on a forum expecting everyone to kiss your arse over your half done job, when generally, people on this forum would probably consider what you've done the complete opposite to what they consider to be a performance enhancing modification. If you already consider your job to be good, then why seek approval on a forum? You're only trying to stroke your ego (and yourself) by posting and seeking everyone's approval. The mark of real confidence, is building something and not bragging about it to everyone, and being happy in your own work. So you can head down to the local macca's car park and pick up some 15 year old wheel biters with your fully sick install, but prepared to get laughed at by anyone who has any idea about skylines or car audio.

I'll sum it up for you in simple to understand terms, so theres no confusion on your end.

    -Will sound bad

    -Looks bad (currently)

    -Makes bad handling

    -Makes the car Slower

If thats too much for you to grasp, just go eat a dick.

Another great example of your imaturity. You remind me of the kids that walk into autobarn thinking there shit hot and know the biz. You dont know shit, If you dont like this guys install there dont look at it or comment on it. you got your point across in your first post.

This guys install is very decent for a first attempt. sure there are alot of things that could be improved on but how do you think people learn? At the end of the day its HIS car and HIS money, No need to bag him out for giving it ago.

  6. Im an auto elec. as troy said. best bet is get the wiring digram for the 32 and start putting it back together bit by bit. start by seperating all the wires from all there seperate locations will make it easier.

in the first picture on the left side hanging down from the steering collum i see what looks to be a shock senser and relay loom for an alarm.

on the passenger side where the heater box should be there will be a couple of looms going to that. i think the 32's had the central locking modual and interior modual on that side too. thos plugs will be of decent size too.

most things should be reasonably easy to figure out where they go as they should only reach to where they should go and each plug will only fit in one hole.

Im just having a look in FAST for you now.

EDIT: FAST isnt really being that helpful but i thought these might be of use to you.

  7. There is no high beam harness. factory HID's dont go any where near high beams. During compliance they normally just unplug the ballasts and remove them and splice into the pos and neg wires and run a short length of new wire to the H1 plug that we use here.to convert back you should just have to find where they tucked away the old plug (normally stuff it under the headlight) and plug it back into the ballast and plug the HID globes into there sockets and it should work.

Have you checked your actually getting power to the look your trying to use?

  8. given that a bass wave is rather long (in some cases 30ft!) and you have it right behind you - are you going to get 'best effect' vs having it far away as possible (IE boot.) ?

that wave needs to expand to really be felt/heard.

You will also gain some response and volume from the cabin gain that you will get when in the boot.

  9. MASSIVE props to Jack88 for hooking up my cd player on short notice.

not only did he do the cd player, but fixed my speaker that wasnt working and some of my dash lights plus cleaned out that mess of wires.

found a few interesting things along the way. donno what the pervious owner was doing. missing heaps of bolts and left a live wire laying around :s

go to this man for audio shit!

    cheers bro

No probs mate  , Youv got me interesting in an MV auto now haha yours is freakin savage.

  10. lol its not that hot

I was at my mechanics for some time last night and this morning fixing his dyno dynamics dyno

Got it up and running a couple hours ago. We tested it on a nearby ute, it made a staggering 75kw ;P

Sure its warm today but its not hot... wait till its 45'c, then you can say its hot heh

    -D

yea last year i was working on a customers car in there garage on the 3 days we had that was over 45, didnt know someone could sweat that much haha
