  1. I have noticed a lack of good 33 gtr's for sale in SA at the moment. Does anyone know of anything good?
  2. I have negotiated some good prices on a few R33 GTR's to look at on the weekend. Some are Vspec and some are not, so what are the differences and should they affect the purchase price significantly? The reason i ask is one particular car is presented beautifully and is a non V spec vs another which is also well presented but not finished off as nicely but is a V spec. Both have been negotiated down to within $500 of each other with the V spec being the cheaper one. Edit: managed to type the right thing into search to get a result. From this i get the physical differences but do you guys percieve the price differences as an issue or not? It seems that most GTR's have aftermarket suspension anyway and the active diff is supposedly nothing special. EDIT: See post 12 for update and add opinions please
  3. Trimfix. Yellow pages. They come to you and do your repairs on the spot, i had a tear in my drivers side door trim on my auto 34 and it was invisible when repaired. Cost was $66 and it was a pretty aggressive 3 inch long tear.
  4. I will have two. 1. XL, zip, no name 2. M, zip, no name
  5. Once again someones finance fell through so up for sale again.
  6. I dont know where people get 50k price tags on for a supra. There a excellent examles of 97+ VVTI manual's for between 25-30k and anyone trying to get more is dreamng unless you go for an 01-02 model which can still be had for less than 35k. There is less aftermarket support for the VVTI 2JZ but there are people who have experience with them and have achieved good results. In saying that, a low km 96- model will be a great base and the differences are only subtle unlike comparing r33-r34. Why bother comparing built RB strokers with the the 2JZ, the kit itself would pay for a reasonable sized single conversion on a 2JZ with all supporting mods. By the way the stock valve train is good for 8000rpm reliably, any more and a valve spring upgrade will be necessary. Value for money the supra shits on the 34, the overall expense in getting the same performance and reliability totally outweighs any financial sense. Get the Nissan if you are a Nissan fan and cant stand the Toyota though if you are not brand biased then get the toyota as even at your goal of 300+rwkw it will be a much stronger and more reliable base overall, rb25's are on the edge at 300rwkw with stock internals and this is where the 2JZ is just coming to life.
  7. I have owned both and i would have to say it depends on what you want the car for. The 34 is a great car but needs a lot of money spent to get big power reliably, the supra on the other hand has a totally bullet proof driveline and its not just the 2jz engine, its the 6 speed getrag which comes standard not to mention the 4/2 pot brakes and huge rotors on the later model supras. I believe the supra to be a better handing car than the gtt as well, it only on old supra's with perrished bushes that this will not be the case(who cares as most will run coilover's at some stage). The supra will put the power down much better as well and can fit 295's under the rear standard and 305's with just a rolled lip on the guard. My cousin is currently putting down 327rwkw in his supra on stock us spec turbo's with just an exhaust, filter, cooler, 044, 680cc injectors, avcr and a power fc. This a great figure in anyones language, especially on stock turbo's. Those figures are just scratching the surface as there are now many 800-900 rwhp supra's on stock internals in the US and our fair share growing in Australia as well. All in all, the gtt is a great looking car though so is the supra. It's just that the supra is a much better built car in every area except maybe interior where they are both full of cheap looking plastic. Supra all the way.
