  1. got one mines computer from ebay and was genuine article, no longer have it any more. i wouldn't like to say for sure about the whole engine/tranny combination. can lead to a heap of headaches having miss matched transmissions and diff combo's. i would personally suggest a complete seperate aftermarket computer and ditch the original, i would suggest you look into making sure about your diff centres. you may need to keep the same ratio as the original unit that the transmission came out of, you may find that the tranny wants to do all sorts of weird things other wise. try talking to mercury motorsport in brisbane, these guys seem to be fairly switched on and should be able to point you in the right direction.
  2. my GTR 33 has an under tray and i have removed both it and the foil of the rear wing, although around town i didn't notice any real significant difference, out on the highway was another story. the vehicles high speed stability had gon totally out the window, befor at 160 km/h the car felt comfortable on the road and didn't want to dart all over the road, it became more like a dodgey falcon wagon with stuffed shocks. as of yet i haven't experimented with the placement of the rear foil angel, it is something that i do mean to get around to one day. also of note is the benifits of smoothing out your under-carage is the gain in fuel economy, the slippery your car is through the wind, the less effort taken to propel it. and with todays prices and my heavy right foot, i need all the help i can get lol
  3. don't know if you are interested but i have a mate hear in gympie that specialises in making and fitting stickers. if you are interested in getting more made up and in different colours i would be only to happy to have a chat to him and work out a price, so far for any thing i have had made up he has been cheaper than any body else. including canberra when i was living down there. i would imagine for bulk amounts, things would get cheaper. let me know if you are interested.
  4. hi people, i joined you guys for the slidewize event held in gympie on saturday, first time i have ever punted the GTR (no.17, local with the GTR 33 for sale) that hard and done those style of events in it. i had a great day and it was a pleasure to meet you all. i only new the one person at the start of the day and by the end of it i don't think there was one of you that i hadn't spoken to by the end of the day. for an outsider coming into a group, every body was friendly and i was made feel welcome from the beginning and i thank you all for the fantastic day that i had. what i was wondering though was, any body that took photos and or video footage of my vehicle and all the others there on the day would you mind emailing them to me at [email protected]. i would really appreciate it. (there is an under-score between jarrod and pratt) once again, thanks for a great day and i hope i see a few of you up here for the next event.
  5. keep an eye out on ebay as i have seen a couple turn up on there from time to time. or you can try mercury motorsport in brisbane, they can now remove your ecu, fit a new chip and totally tune the ecu to your vrhicle. have spoken to them about it and it is a suitable update for standard and modified cars.
  6. as a general rule you want to be able to load your torque convertor up to the revs that your engine is starting to produce torque and hp. if your engine starts to make its power at 3500RPM, then that is where you need to be able to load your torque convertor up to. the higher your power comes in, the higher RPM torque convertor you require would also suggest fitting a shift kit, causes the auto to shift a little harsher between changes but takes the sluggish response out of the shift change. not sure how you can buy them now but you use to be able to get them in stage 1; stage 2; stage 3 and full manual shift. the higher the stage, the harsher the shift and can make general smoothness of your changes driving around town a little unpleasent. you may find a remarkable increase in your quater mile times by these changes. any reputable high performance auto rebuilder should be able to design what you want if you take in your dyno sheats of your hp and torque readings. hope this helps.
