  1. Just an update on the outcome... I took it to the Sturt Police Station and was dealt with by a really nice genuine male cop. I played the game as usual and he came out and checked the tyres and made me give it a few revs to check for smoke. He said all was good and the cop that issued the defect must have been having a bad day. $55 to remove the sticker and cancel the defect from the system and I was smiling and on my way. There are some nice cops out there still and this just goes to show, it is worth taking it to the local and giving it a shot.
  2. Need some stock springs for an R33 S2 to clear defect. Borrow or buy on those. Also would like to try a stock AFM, O2 sensor and maybe an AAC valve to try to diagnose a few issues. I have cleaned all of these things using the guides on here. I know the springs shouldn't be a problem, see how we go with the other stuff. Cheers guys.
  3. Nevermind I think I just found it...
  4. Where can I get a copy of the ADR's?
  5. Can they actually clear it, as in remove the defect? I thought about doing this but didnt think I had a chance.
  6. Just hit the wear indicators, so like the tread was in line with the indicators. Full inspection it is Like I said, they are clearly targeting imports. Money making scheme?? Do you think? It seriously boils my blood!
  7. +1 for Guage Works. Fixed my faulty odometer quickly and pretty cheap
  8. So I went to the shops last weekend to get 6 potatoes which I had forgot the day before, and I was pulled over by 2 bike cops on the side of the road not even 1km from my house. Attitude right from the start, gave me a bretho, no worries. Then he looked at the rear tyres and they were on the wear indicator, he said "that's no good", then asked me to test my horn which works. Then he said there was a heap of smoke coming out the exhaust. He walked around the car again, the whole time I was in the car and he came back with a defect notice. Major defect. Rear tyres and exessive smoke. I was polite to him the whole time and played their game. I got out the car and asked him where the smoke was as there wasn't any. He pointed to the exhaust and said "there!" I put my hand over the exhaust, nothing. So he gets in my car and revs the crap out of it and a small puff of black smoke (running a little rich and was still cold) and he said "point proven, I rest my case". So off to Regency I go, again. I've been 4 times since owning the car so I know roughly what I need to change back to stock. I have coilovers but they weren't set low so it was not obvious however I will be putting standard springs and struts back in. I don't have any springs, I have the struts. Does anyone suggest where I can pick some up from for cheap? I'm 36, studying at uni and don't have the money for one trip let alone a second trip to regency. Apparently the speeding fine for up to 15km over has been reduced to $150 and 2 demerit points, but a trip to regency is now $259 for the first visit. What the hell. They are targeting imports and it doesn't matter if you have a clean record or are old. The system is cooked.
  9. Mine has just done this. What did you use to connect the two hoses together?
  10. Cheers, great DIY. Mine has just crapped itself so Ill need to do this now. Might just bypass the lines for now.
  11. Arrggghh... double post frustrations! Sorry guys
  12. R33 series 2 coilpacks. Im sure mine are up the fritz and just want to confirm / eliminate the problem.
  13. OK that's nice to know then that it saves even without the battery. I cant recall exactly when it started going poopy, it has slowly seemed to have got worse. I'm located in Adelaide.
