  1. The other night the power went out and I was bored shitless so I pulled my r33 diff from its cradle in the back yard and took it into the garage and started to pull it apart.. didnt get real far, but I was going to fit the nismo centre but I decided ill replace the bearings and seals anyway so Ill have to pull my finger out and order them. Tonight I started to pull some of the arms out to lend to a mate who hit a gutter and while I was at it I fitted my cusco upper camber arms. There is a pic of how short they are compared to standard. I was hoping they were adjustable but they arent, they are just a fixed lengh. Hopefully its not too much negative camber. Im tring to get decent lock out of 10.5" rims so here are the pics.. 2. mates old gtr had 18x10.5 +17 all round. 265/35/18 tyres and it had rolled gaurds, not flared. Very low and only rarely scrubbed
  3. Hey, Ive got an r32 project going in the garage and I picked up a cheap r33 shell. Ive got some offset bushes for the rear cradle conversion. But I have read on NS.com that someone fitted an s15 power steering rack to an s13 and it made a good enhancement for steering lock. And as far as I know r32 and s13 would be the same and s15 and r33 would be that same. My question is will a r33 power steering rack fit into an r32 without modification. And while im going I was thinking about changing the K-frame and everything to r33 bits if its possible and if it makes any difference. Another reason Im asking is a mate of mine put his gtst into a gutter and needs alot of front suspension parts and If he can get them off my car would save him money and time, and my r33 bits wont cost me a thing because I already have them so if it makes a performance enhancement it would be worth my time. Also note I will be doing tie rods, lock spacers, modded knuckles and modded r33 control arms into my car so the rest of the r33 bits would be good to have. And can anyone tell me if the big upright arms (what is there technical name?) if the r33 and r32 ones are interchangable. Or if R32 GTS-t and GTR are interchangable? any differences? Thanks alot guys
  4. Thankyou, didn't expect such a useful post. Ill have a read of the websites a bit better tomorrow when I'm awake, but this definately looks like a good way to get that extra bit of speed down the quater mile Im sure I'll be in contact with you again mate.
  5. Hey people, Seeing how the aussie dollar is doing so well I have been looking on summit racing america lately and been thinking of getting nitrous. I have been doing some reading and see the key things to run a motor with a wet nos setup is Retarded timing Decreased sparkplug gap (recommended something like 0.7mm gap, I currently use 0.9mm gap Also recommend colder plugs.. I run NGK copper plugs with a 7 heat range fuel injection into the plenum, cant find much info on how this works Now im currently building an RB30DET with forged rods, pistion 9:1 compression, RB25 Head, with cams, and mild porting. All the wet kits im seeing on the net are for carby cars. Are these kits suitable? Here is a link http://www.summitracing.com/parts/NOS-05101NOS/ And I just cant find info on where the fuel comes from. Im making a 2L surge tank, I havent welded any bungs on yet but should I put one in to allow for another fuel outlet? Ok, so I understand the kits have a Master switch to turn nitrous on and off, and a micro switch on the accelerator while on 100% throttle to activate the nos and fuel solenoids to inject the stuff... EDIT: I forgot to mention, I also have a water meth kit on the car, which im assuming will only enhance the operation of the nos, due to it heating the motor up, the water meth should cool it a bit yeah? Ok so a turbo motor wants timing, and a nos fed motor wants retard timing, is there a way around this? The car is a rare weekend warrior and the nos will only be for drag days, just to get that but past a 12 second pass into the 11's. The car has a Vipec ecu, and I'm just wondering about how it will cope with the nos injected... My thoughts are, its going to need to be tuned for nos.. but then what about when its not being used? Does anyone know if vipecs can have two tunes stored to them? Ill have to talk to my tuner a bit more about this, but any info you guys can enlighten me on would be greatly appreciated. It's hard to find info on the net about it because its always carby cars they use it on that dont need ecu tuning! Thanks guys
  6. Hey.. Well yesterday my order from Import Monster turned up so I was pretty happy about that. There is a few pics of the Duck wing and roof wing in there, I love them! The GTR rear quaters got hacked up today too. I cut all the inners out and separated just the outer shell.. I drilled out the spot welds on the fuel tank filler and knocked it out.. There is still a little more cutting to be done before they fit perfect. For those who are wondering I'm going to rivet them on like over fenders and probably filll behind them with expandable foam. I've got a few ideas I'm toying with on how to mount them... putting blocks of wood under areas to pop it out a little to make it a bit wider again. Then im considering heating the guard with the oxy and machining up a little steel roller for the guard roller to flare the guards nicely... the rims still dont fit perfect, and I want to roll them out to about 1 degree negative camber. Anyways thats the latest here, and a few pics of the garage and my other project for a daily other than my ute, an r33 gts-t with custom metallic blue / gold pearl paint.. and the orange rb25 out of my r32 is going into it. There is also some photos of the r33's old motor that I pulled the sump off today. It was not mine when it blew up but it was making 298RWKW and there is alot of contributions to what blew the motor but it isn't pretty in there, talk about sludge! the piston was missing too... but I found it.. The crank decided it didn't want to have anything to do with that rod and they parted their own separte ways
  7. Woops I'll try that again http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/post-a294825- And if that fails it's in the second post here... http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/R3...40#entry5348040
  8. Justjap R33 rear camber arms just turned up. I have a r33 GTS im wrecking so I thought well I may aswell put the cradle into my R32. So I need to machine up some offset spacer bushes which im hoping someone can help me out on specs with them?? If you have some laying around please measure them up for me!!
  9. Yeah slack for second hand ones, I think they're all just as bad as eatchother because just having the doors shut and the windows pushing in seals flattens it out over the years... New seals would make it look nice with fresh paint
  10. I havent done it yet, they are still on hold in import monsters warehouse in japan.. im waiting on a few more auctions. I have them in my r33 gts-t and I pulled the cluster out to check something and there is some pretty wild wiring in there... I hope these have some good instructions, otherwise Ill try look at the r33s one for some ideas.. Ill try get some pics and post them up when I get to it.. Although it wont be for a few months as I still need to spray the interiour befor I fit the dash back in.
  11. yeah its got alot of bends around the windscreen http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/post-a294825-
  12. ok, thanks for that information. Its just a weekened car. I live nowhere near any tracks and my mates and I drive 1000km south to brissy for friday night drift nights at QR every few months. I am just trying to get the cage engineered for a mod plate. I spoke to a guy and he said I need to find the specs to see if he will approve it.
  13. http://www.importmonster.com.au/view?url=h...p;title=N%20046 There is some of the seals I'm looking at. Does anyone know where I can get these cheaper?
  14. Hey Im stripping my car back atm to get it painted in a few months time. I just pulled the door seals off, where the window seals onto when the door is shut with the window up, and also the seal around the door the seals in the door jam and goes up around as high as the mirror. Also my windscreen and rear window and rear quatar glass seals are all in not the best nick. Just wondering what you guys have done when painting your cars. I do not want to remove the rear 1/4 windows, but is it mandatory to get the rear quater seals off? Sorry I dont have any pics atm but ill get some up. I got a quote from nissan on the seals around the windows and they want around $550 one side and $720 the other side. I found them on import monster last week for $300 plus fees, commision and freight, so around $550 delivered... still VERY EXY. Any cheap ways out or anything that might help?
  15. nah it hasnt. It was done properly by a car painter though. Has done about 15,000km over 1 year and didnt bubble at all
  16. Hey, I have a manufactured roll cage (its not custom) and on the padding there is a sticker that sais Kagura. I Can't find any information on it and I need to find the material its made of and the wall thickness of the tube. Its a 6 point cage with an off white padding. The tube size is 40mm Can anyone point me in a direction? thanks
  17. Just made an offer to someone in ebay US on a OS Giken triple plate clutch Hope he accepts
  18. Waiting on a few parts from import monster atm... I have them holding them in their japan warehouse while I shop for more Clear tinted GTR indicators Wheel alignment measuring tools Massive duck wing Roof Wing 3% tint on rear windows and 13% on front windows EL Dials Cusco front camber arms Nismo 2-way LSD and still trying to find a decent clutch atm...
  19. here is a pic of how the engine bay looked befor I pulled it out
  20. I knocked the guards right out with a 4lbs hammer and angle grinded the excess off... and bought a set of WORK VS-XX 18x10.5 +26 and 18x11.5 +26, both front and rear have 245/40/18 tyres. I'm waiting to weld the guards up because I've gotta borrow a mig from work and I need to weld a heep of holes in the engine bay, all the ones marked with white pen. I'm also waiting to hear from Lindsae Stone from Townsville about welding the cage in and welding in a few other little bits inside the car. I pulled the turbo apart, it's a garret 3076 with 0.86 rear housing Vband external gated. Im polishing the front housing and made up a neat little heat shield for the exhaust housing. The photo of the polished turbo is actually off my brothers s14, I'll be doing the same as he did, its the same turbo too. The little HKS badge is actually from a trophy shop, they laser etched a bit of stainless to say HKS, looks awesome! Just last week my GTR rear quater panels turned up, I'm not going to weld them in though, I'm going to cut the outer skin off and rivet it on like an over fender, but steel and 100% fitment Started to pull all the seals off the door jams, and the rear bar, tail lights, and started to rub off all excess left over sound deadening from the interiour with thinners. I am still undecided on what colour to paint it yet.
  21. I tried to roll the guards using a 3" piece of pipe... the gaurds both looked to be in good nick, I knew there was a tiny bit of bog, but yeah... didn't know it was this bad.. The car has had repairs done on the LH guard and there is new bits of steel in there aswell as the original guard being cracked in areas under the bog.. well it's all exposed now
  22. here you can see... Original hks turbo the car came with. The old plenum that I had painted before I found out it had a leaky water jacket The glitter flakes in the paint of the rockers
