  1. I put a pod filter on my 34 - my car's exactly the same as yours Beemer, and I noticed an increase in smoothness and response. A couple of things you have to remember are that the stock pee-shooter muffler is more restrictive than a cannon, and also the ECU in these cars is an "intuitive" computer, in that it learns your driving habits. In other words, if the previous owner spent most of the time gunning it around from the lights, then it's going to be used to doing that and not getting driven nicely, so give it a bit of time to learn your habits. If you plan on doing a turbo conversion then you don't really need to stress too much, as most aftermarkt ECUs - from my limited experience - aren't intuitive or "self-learning", you just program them and off you go. If however you aren't going to convert to a snail, then I'd say get some extractors for it and whack that cannon back on to improve flow a bit more. I have a stock air-box that I've replaced with a pod myself recently...Not sure if it's wise to sell it though...I'll let you know.
  2. I got 18s all round on my car Drew. They look sweet but having about 1 1/2 inch less gap alround between the wheels and arches will make it look so much sexier. Back when I had my laser I didn't have a front sway bar at first, and on the mooloolaba exit heading north from kawana (the big round off ramp thing), my car would roll so badly in the front, and then once I got the sway bar for it there was about 70% less body roll, I couldn't believe it! So it makes heaps of difference. Dan I really don't wanna have to go coilovers. Might have a look into them Bilstien shocks as they've got a pretty good rep.
  3. That's pretty much almost as high as mine man, I'd like mine to sit with a gap half that of yours between the arches and tyres, and get swaybars front and rear so it handles sweet...Apparently I can get Pedders sports riders for mine which are a lowered-spring shock, so they're made to take lowered springs.
  4. yeah...makes it difficult to decide what to do aye...coilovers might be a good options afterall, being fully adjustable and all...It's never easy when it comes to this sort of thing.
  5. Wanting to lower my R34 a bit, something along the lines of the gaurds sitting just above the tyres, instead of about 1 1/2 inches above the tyres like it does now. I was looking at a set of king springs on ebay that are the "low" height ones, and just wondered if they would help to achieve what I'd like to get with my car... I'd like to see before and after pics of anyone that's done it with their R34 themselves. I'm not even sure if my car has lowered springs because I've not really seen what one looks like with them. Coilovers are expensive and the struts in mine are fine, so I'd prefer to just get a set of lower, more rigid springs and a set of swaybars for it (I already have a front strut brace on it so I don't need that), so all I want to do with it now is lower it a bit. This is what it looks like height wise, at the moment. So is it on lowered springs?
  6. Well, as the title suggests, I swear the yard I got my 34 4-Door from is doing the fudge on their cars. I bought my car 3 weeks ago and haven't looked back, and I am loving it to bits, except for the following couple of things. Tyres: Front Right is almost bald on the inside - too much camber. Front Left is on the wear indicators. Rear Left is the same as Front Left. Right Rear has about 50% tread with even-ish wear. So...I need new tyres already. I've got a mate who works at Beaurepairs and he was gonna put new tyres on the car this arvo, but ran into another problem - Wheelnuts... On the left rear wheel there's one nut that's siezed up and crosstheaded. It moves a bit but becomes impossible to turn out any further after that. My mate didn't want to snap a wheel stud, so he suggested I go down to the yard I bought it from - Rite Price Autos in Kawana, so I did. When I rocked up I as waitin' for about 5-10 minutes for the guy that runs the business to come out and see me. The owner of "Auto Import Service Centre" who performs all the compiancing and maintinance of the cars sold at Rite Price was there as well, and was talking with the owner. They went from the workshop to the office, and after a little while the owner of Auto Import Service Centre came out and asked me take my car to his workshed, and give him a lift there too. When we arrive at Auto Import Service Centre I talked with the workshop manager about the problem and he said it's not covered under warrenty to get the faulty wheelnut and stud out and replace it with new ones. I am severly pissed off about this because all I wanted was my car be legit and just be able to drive it, but now I need new tyres which I don't see why I have to pay for. Another friend suggested calling the Office of Fair Trading in combination with QLD Transport, and tell them that my roadworthy could not possibly be legit with my tyres in this condition. Auto Import Service Centre said they don't need to remove wheels to inspect the brakes, which my mate at Beaurepairs and another mate who also knows the guy at Beaurepairs says is absolutely bullshit. I got a 12 month warrenty when I purchased the car too. Please help me sort the shit out.

  8. Thanks for that Beau. Things seem to be improving more and more with this TV. Just yesterday a mate came over with one of them MP3/MP4-Video Pocket Players and tried plugging into the Video Input you mentioned above. He only had a 2 band 3.5mm jack, which will play the audio, but he really needed to bring his 3 band 3.5mm jack which plays the video stream as well...So all that got displayed on the screen was blurry lines. But what's really good about it is I decided to try a CD again, because lately they haven't been working, so I tried it, and low and behold I now have CD controls on the screen! I just have to use the navigation stick to select the buttons on the display and use them the way you would any CD players buttons...So sweet I can do that! Seems as though getting the screen to work again has made sort of unlock features gradually or something, but I am just so happy to be able to use it. Next on the list is to try that 3-band 3.5mm jack to see if the video input really does work the way it should.
  9. YES!!! I finally managed to get the TV screen to work! It's in Japanese obviously, so I need help translating the text on the screen for the following pictures. TV screen - nothing displayed except for the text in the bottom left corner The TV Tuner section - I think it is anyway This one looks to be the Display properties for the screen I can use the joystick now to navigate the menus, but I don't know what they say so having that will also help me work out what I am doing. I still cannot select and play CDs though even with the screen working. Please help.
  10. Hey thanks insanity! That's a big help, and when I get the screen fixed I'll be able to use them all. I should've taken a pic of the toggle/Nav button combo, that was to the right of these buttons so you could translate that for me too. I'll do this tomorrow.
  11. My R34 still has it's stock stereo/CD player in it, and I want to know what the buttons between the CD player and aircon controls do, if they do anything at all. Here's a shot I took so you all know what I am on about. I have a pop up screen that is disfunctional in that it doesn't come up all the way and work how it should, which I am also wanting to get fixed. For now though, translation of these buttons would be great!
  12. Well I took a photo of my centre dash setup for you today Chris, as well as a film of the screen coming up then going down a bit. Let me know what you may have to do to help me out. I went to Maroochy car sound this arvo and all they said they could do was rip it out and put my JVC in instead, but I just think they're trying to make money myself, so I want another opinion. Mind you, the screen doesn't close in the film by itself, I closed it manually after it did it's little "Half-Open, Quarter-Close" thing.
  13. OK man no worries. I'll send you a PM ahead of time for when I am heading down so you can be ready.
  14. Live on the Sunny Coast. Yeah I am guessing it's the Navi-version, but I would like to get the screen to come all the way up. How do I do it? Can you tell me or should I get someone else to do it?
  15. Hey there...It's been a long time coming, but I finally got my first skyline! It's an R34-GT Sedan, Naturally Aspirated RB25DE Automatic, which I find perfect for me, but there's a few things I want to work out. 1. I can't seem to find where the heck the skip buttons are on the stereo panel for when I am playing a CD, I just listen to each and every track at the moment and that's not very fun for me. It does have 3.5mm input, which I have yet to find out if it works - should really. All the buttons on the head unit above the Aircon controls are written in Japanese, but where the tape deck is, there are fast forward, rewind, and skip forward/back buttons for the CD player, except I can't use them either when playing a CD, as mentioned above. 2. My model comes with the little TV screen on top of the dash, but when I press the OPEN/CLOSE button, it comes up half way, then goes down a quarter and stops...? I don't know what's causing this and would like it fixed, even if it is in jap-jap on the screen, it'd be nice to see what it has to display... Please Help me, I really do love my new car, and will post up pics of it shortly, but mates of mine that've already seen it are all so happy for me, and I am over the moon as well - this is THE best car I've ever owned, bar-none.

  17. Decided to clean up my life a bit. I've aquired too many things this year and I am anxious to get rid of them. A few of the major things are as follows. > 1980 Honda CB750 Has a 900 Bol'dor engine in it, but I still have the 750 engine as well. The bike is in good condition, but will be getting sold without rego, as it does need some work to get it going again. Paint is in much better condition than it was when I got it first. I will be selling the manual with it so anyone can work on it. I have a new bike now and have no use for the old girl anymore. I am asking $600 - $800 for the bike and all the parts I have in storage. ____________________ > LG Double Door Fridge Exellent fridge that's never missed a beat since I aquired it, but it's just too big for me, and would more suit a couple or small family. Fridge and freezer are the same size, which is quite a bit. It has a 3.5/4 star rating out out 5, so it's very economical as well. I can't justify having a fridge like this and will get something smaller for myself down the track. I am asking $400 - $500 for this. ____________________ > Logitech 5.1 PC Surround Sound System It's the budget 5.1 in the Logitech range, if you catch my drift. I only paid $100 for it @ E.B, so I am selling it for $70 = Deal! ____________________ > Bosch Wet/Dry Vac Good for shampoo-ing/vacuming your car, but I don't have a car so I want this gone as well. Want $40 for it. I will add more things as I think/look for them in storage. If anyone needs pictures, do a search! nah, if you can't find pictures of what I've mentioned here I'll supply some myself.
  18. Spoke to my Boss. He's a bit of a business man, and said that he'd sell it to me for 18k...Am I getting raped? I am sort of thinking so. I haven't told him it's too expensive, but he wants to make a bit of money on it after he gets it - like I said, business man. I dunno...I really got NFI what car I want next...In truth I'm being a bit of a sheep by wanting an import, but then I am being a sheep in saying I want an '07 Kawazaki Ninja 600 as well...cept the ninja is new and almost half the price.
  19. Laser's gone (should really update my profile) so I only got the bike. Summer's here and I still have to suit up to get to work as I only have my bike now, as the laser blew up one night on the way home from work - timing chain was too loose and a valve hit the piston too many times and **BANG!!!**, goobye laser. Thinking back now I am glad it's gone too. Thing is, I want a sports car, and the mate who I am buying it off is actually my boss, and he said he will sell it to me cheaper than if he sold it to someone else. BNR32T - Why has you 32 spent more time off the road? what have you been doing with it/how have you treated it? (This isn't meant to offend you in any way, I just want to know). I don't thrash cars (much - come on everyone does it) and with the GTR being a high performance car, I don't think I'll be needing to get under the bonnet to make any major (or minor) upgrades, any time soon after if and when I get it. I've seen a few nice R33s and I like them too, but the R32-GTR is an icon, and I know alot of poeple who like them, and the 32s are in my price range too. I read the post link about the other guy asking about the GTR...Man why is it that when I want a nice sporty car, I always seem to make near fatal decisions in regard to car integrety and all.....I might just be a bit too anxious. I just don't want to screw anyone around anymore. I've already backed out of one deal where I almost bought a shit bike... I just want a really nice car.
  20. Haven't been on here much, let-alone post anything, but this time it's a must, as this is the best site for this car, and surely I can get some answers from you ppl! j/k A mate of mine is importing a 93 GTR R32 from Japan, due here on the 15th and should be in his garage by the next week. He has offered me the chance to purchase it after a little bit so that I have a more reliable transport medium to get to work instead of my bike, which I can then work on to get it running right. Anyway, what do I need to be warey of when going to look at the car, and what things let go before others on the Godzilla? It is Nissan, so the toughness would be there, but to be sure, I just want to know what I need to look out for. I am over getting raped when buying a car/bike, only to find something wrong with it.
  21. Awe shizer!!! Man!! THAT IS THE BEST SKYLINE I HAVE SEEN!!!! Far out you got no idea how awe struck I am right now! Damn I want it!!! BTW what damage is there on the wheel you mentioned?

    Stageas In Carparks

Barina - no. Ford Laser - yes. it has...or should I say - had, a nice small turning circle. Thanks for answering the question too. I don't rate it steering as a major factor, but thought i'd throw the questions out there.
  23. I read the specs on the stagea a while back as I am havin a good think about getting one someday, and wondered what they perform like in the everyday carpark scinario. Turning circle in the specs = 5.3 metres, and that's huge! Can you get a steering rack that makes the turning radius smaller?
  24. that's a nice car. my fave colour, and the rims look real good too. good luck with it
