Hitting the free way with 30 odd skylines was a trip and must have been a pretty cool sight to see, the noise must have been mad in that tunnel !!!! Ill be down for the next one. Cheers Roj

  5. Rob, I suggest you do some road stat, and law reseach before begin your argument aganst the new P Plate legislation. If you give an unresearched, biased self centered opinion as a newbie driver you might end up getting an F I was born and bred in NZ, as a young drivers we didnt have "P Plates" but had a similar stage of acquiring our drivers license called "Restricted" which was after the "Learner" period. While on your restricted (which I think was for about 12 months), the driver could only use a vehicle between the hours of 6 am and 10pm, and were not allowed to carry "ANY" passagners unless they were at or older than the age of 21 and whom have had their full license for over two years. This person had to sit in the passanger seat and was basically responsible for all occupants in the car. As far as vehicle power restrictions, increasing and limits are concerned Im not 100% and they may have changed, but when I was on restricted any power increase of 10% or more needed to be certified. This Cert. made sure your bakes could handle the new power etc etc. Other than that you could driver what ever you liked as far as know. Why I have responded in this forum is because the NZ road toll for this age group of drivers is not even comparable to Australia, and this is why Aust has begun a change to its legislation. We all need to learn to drive in society, and I agree some advance quicker and have better street smarts than others. But by having friends in the car even "ONE" to distract you while driving is proven to have deadly or life changing consequences. As far as all your arguments about partys etc, well they have no relevance on the bigger picture. Take a bus or walk or drive "yourself" and go home alive. You might think I'm an old buggar and to some of you I might be, but I love my cars as much as the next skyline fan. This isn't an attack on P Platers just something to consider, so take some advise from someone whos been there and done that and had a few close calls along the way, use your brain and drive to the conditions and stop your whining, you got it pretty good. Cheers Roj
  6. HA I'm in Newport "Westside" the black Dirty R33 seen in Altona is most surely to be mine, the only clean bit on it is my new stainless exhaust. I like to call it my "Urban Camo" The white R33 I followed home last night lives not far from me, I think he thought I was following him. There was another nice R33 Black I used to see often "very low" I havent seen him for a while. I wud be keen to catch up with any other SAU guys in my area. Roj
  7. Hey Rekin, The hand brake handle only, recover = $80 The boots for Gear shift and hand break were about $300 from memory. Yeah if you can get if off and drop it in Im sure he wont mind, I dropped off my whole car and was ready within a day. Just give him a call if you have any questions. Roj
  8. Sorry pic didn't load Ill try it again. Yeah retrim in leather and fit new rubber if needed to back and front seats along with lose material areas on the doors. Its alot of work I'm guessing. Would look Sh@% hot.
  9. Yeah thats what he quoted me too. He does a great job you wont be disappointed. I was also considering after market Recaro's because my drivers seat is buggared, but after seeing the price of two new seats with rails and compliance blah blah Its all too hard. Gary suggested I look for some GTR seats, and said as another option he could redo my front and back seats for around 2.5k incl.. which sounds tempting, and you don't have the hassle of getting a defect for non standard seats. Anyway I will deal with the steering wheel first, maybe some one will come back to me with a momo dealer? See attached pic of Garys work on my R33. PS the boots were done a good 8 months ago, hand brake handle was done on Monday. (Excuse filthy car) Cheers Roj
  10. Good idea cosmo, I thought about getting my steering wheel re-done also coz it looks a bit shite now after getting the gear shift boot, hand brake boot and handle redone at Gary's. Then recalled that my steering wheel is illegal any way without a padded centre, so Im on the hunt for a replacement. Anyone know who sells momo or similar quality in Melbourne? they should have some nice stylish padded wheels to choose from.
  11. Try Gary Blackman in Cremorne http://www.garryblackmantrimming.com/ I just got my handbrake re done in leather, perfect job.... $80 Steering wheel $250 look him up give him a call, top bloke. Roj
