  1. oooh only 100 posts till the magical 1000. Not enough time left to do it today.
  2. 2nd round of tomatoes lol. All waxes only required a wash before application. But most of the time you are wasting your time just waxing over all the crap that is stuck to your clear coat. To get a decent finish. And I'm sure this is subjective but I define a decent finish as swirl marks/micro scratches, water marks etc removed. The paint should be smooth to touch and have a nice glossy look depending on the wax/sealer used. The truth is most of the products and steps listed are way over the top for any normal person who just wants their car to be shiny. These are the kind of people that cause most of the damage to their paint through poor washing technique in which case no amount of polish or wax will give them the protection they need. I would go the same way as Nismo comparing it to motorsport. Those seconds that a serious competitor shaves off through suspension tuning, decent tyres etc are meaningless to somebody who just wants to get out there and have some fun.
  3. BNR Meet every Thursday at 7:30. Check the events forum and come along and say hi
  4. lol needs to be reversed so he's the one doing the cupping. No photoshop in work I would dload it but they would probably crack the shits.
  5. that pic is stupidly photoshopped though, which is annoying.
  6. I think thats the look hes going for lol. Its the Vampire/Corpse look. Emo chicks dig it.
  7. I just did my car with FI Seal to. I'm very happy with the result. It will be getting a second layer applied on Thursday then I will be using my wax on top of that to keep the shine going. I've got the power wheel cleaner as well and I'm very impressed. Spray on, Wash off and done. Absolutely brilliant. Also if your having trouble with the exhaust stains and stuff on your rear bar try the power wheel cleaner on it as well. Comes straight off. I have a white car as well so I know your pain lol. I made a thread in this section with the pics after the detail so have a look. Cheers Colin
  8. lol brilliant response dan. Josh. One day my garage will look like that. One day....
  9. tis a nice yacht thats for sure. Uni is gay that is all
  10. Will keep an eye out for that stuff next time. The FI Wheel Cleaner I use eats through all the exhaust crap just the same. Its amazing on the wheels to. Never have to touch them with a wash mit again. Spray on, leave for a minute and then hose off along with all the brake dust and crap. Very impressed with it.
  11. It's alright lots of emos struggle with english. Would it help if everything was in poem form?
  12. bahahahaha*takes breath* hahahahhahaahha. Need to add some rocker stoppers S13 coilovers + Cusco 31 camber tops = 31 coil overs... Safesearch ftl lol Its got a good 40 sec pass in it for sure.
  13. Yeah I was wondering that myself. We did a mountain run the night before so that's why the front bar looks like an insect graveyard lol.
  14. lol... Haha it could of been. I'm so ready for bed now. 3 Ice teas and I'm gooone.
  15. Cheers for the comments guys Took it for a run up to O'Reillys for a bbq and it needs another wash now haha. Approx $300 - $350 in consumables polish, clay, sealer etc and then probably another $200 - 250 in cloths and polishing pads. And my random orbital cost me $150. Seems like a lot but if you were to pay somebody to do it to this standard it would probably cost $250 or more. My sister got her car detailed by one of those Jame's Mobile Detailers and they charged $200 and didn't even clay the car before it was polished. And then they only polished the bonnet, roof and rear bar. If you're interested in getting some gear to detail the car get on to Final Inspection in Melbourne. Damian knows his stuff and can sort you out with everything you will need. It's not much more expensive than buying the Mothers/Meguires stuff and will give you a better finish. But remember its all in the preparation. The one item I wouldn't be without is the Blue Magic Clay Bar. I've used the Mothers & Meguires clay bars and they are tiny and take ages to pick up some stuff. The Blue Magic bar is 3 times bigger and takes everything off a lot easier. They're only about $20 more than the mothers/meguires stuff so well worth it.
