  1. spotted some twat in a ford mondeo trying to drag me all the way down springvale road and then down cantebury road. wouldnt even bother wasting my fuel on him

  2. i got a s14 sitting around for 8k if u can spend a bit more. can proberly orgnise a rwc if your serious.

nah thanks i wanna spend as little as possible and id probably have too much fun in it anyway lol

I've said it before in other threads. R31 Skyline. Tough as nails, enough power, drive well, parts can be bought with spare change. You can pick up ones with RWC and rego for $2K. And when the time comes you can re-sell it for $2K.

yeh i was thinking r31 but they are big cars. i was thinking something small and easy. maybe im just being too picky.

  3. Subaru liberty RS. Hold there value well (they have depreciated all they are going to now). Tough as nails.

Lots of parts of something does break.

If its only an in betwween car just buy a sheat box then flog it off

yeh was thinking if i do buy a shitbox then ill take it paddock bashing to finish it off :rofl2:

  4. Did he have frizzy red hair and big red shoes and kinda looks like a clown?? :rofl2:

    Like him?

Also spotted a white R34 with SAU stickers last night on Springvale Road turning onto Heatherton Rd, outside Maccas.

maybe have looked like that if i crashed and my hair caught on fire?

  5. none of those cars are gonna be easy to resell without taking a $1000 hit. borrow one off a mate who has a spare and give him $100 a month? Or buy one with 6 months rego left that's going to the wreckers.

Already tried with mates cars. The only one who could have helped me bloody sold his spare car not long ago :rofl2: Plus any car thats going to the wreckers i doubt would come with a RWC

Go the civic. I had a hatch in reliable condition that was bought at 3k and sold at 3k 8 months later. Hondas have a good rep.

I was leaning towards the civic cos they are popular and would probably be the easiest to re-sell out of all of them. Plus probably the easiest to maintain.

Get something you can pawn off in the quickest time possible,

ie commodore, barina etc. Dont piss fart around with hot hatches or 2 door coupes cos it wont be worth the hassle in the end.

yeh i could but in the case where i need to keep the car for a longer period of time i want it to be something i wont be embarrassed driving and can have a little fun in as well. unfortunately not all the options are RWD

  6. Hey guys, i've been searching through carsales.com trying to pick out a decent car that i can use to get around in the time from when my car sells and up to i buy my new car. This could be a 6 month period or so.

Im only looking to spend about $6k, give or take.

Ive looked at the following sorts of cars that im thinking are least likely to shit themselves over the time i own it:

    1993 honda civic (sedan)

    1994 honda integra

    1996 mazda astina 323 hatch (6cyl)

    1991 - 1994 nissan 180sx (turbo)

    1990 - 1991 toyota celica GT4

    1995 - 1997 ford probe

I did look at a few R32's and R33's but i doubt they will re-sell very easily when i want to get rid of them.

    Any other suggestions?

    Cheers

  8. popular spots for roadside camera to sit:

    - opposite the burwood hwy end of cathies lane in knox. usually is a rav 4 that sites there.

    - stud road, scoresby. usually a station wagon parked on the grass down from the bus stop about 100m or so from the george street lights.

    - next to the audi dealership on burwood hwy, burwood. copper usually sits in the driveway next door with the radar.

    - bayswater road, heading towards cantebury road. just after passing over boronia road, roadside camera usually on the right hand nature strip.

    - warragul road, oakleigh. heading towards princes hwy. just after passing over the station a roadside camera sometimes parks behind a tree.

  9. You can't park on Nature strip but if you were to park legally on road just down from it blocking the view of the laser/camera I don't see any problem with that. If I was called I would tell the speed operator to move as other person doing nothing wrong.

I personally HATE the fact that these fines are issued in Victoria Police name as we have nothing to do with them. They are run/operated by private contractor company.

I was aware that those operators aren't police officers but being run by private contractors? I didn't expect that. So this is similar to the hoon hotline as I'm told that isn't run by vic pol or any government section either? So if they aren't employed by the state then where would they get the power to fine people for parking in front of them, etc when you are on public roads/property?

As for passing them I always make sure to flip the bird at them

  10. just for you :bunny:

yeh they are nismo lol i was lucky they came with the car :) im not to fussed bout pettit anymore ive gone past him plenty of times now and he hasnt done anything from my last run in id say im on his good side. besides hes posted in lilydale now

  11. Ouch! That would have been pretty pricey! What happened?

Spotted you I think it was Friday morning around 7:30ish on Springvale Rd, just before Ferntree Gully Rd (I was turning to jump on the Monash).

yeh that was me, i work off dunlop road. im not sure whats happened but its running like shit. either boost or coils. dropping it off at melbourne performance centre on wednesday to suss it out

  12. i think there are few massive threads in the general or skylines section about all the different coilpacks.

splitfire are a proven/tested product in a huge variety of situations/setups

yeh I've seen the threads just didn't wanna make a blind decision. Looks like splitfire is the preferred but yellojack appears highly recommended as well so it's all down to the money

  13. Ok pretty much confirmed that it wasn't bad fuel that has f**ked my car. Looks like I'll be investing in a new set of coil packs. A mte offered to sell me his standard ones which sounds good but mite as we rip myself in the ass n buy some good after market ones. The most suggested have been splitfire but everyone seems to be giving me prices between $600 - $1500.

Input? I'm leaning towards buying new ones as reusing old ones from a different car could land me back in my current pissed off mood. :)
