  1. No way I could put a chev in just isn't in me
  2. I'm also starting to lean to an S chassis as well considering how well they went as well. The main thing would be to try get it nice and low in its curb weight and enough power. Would like to run a vh45 in it been in the process of building a sc kit with a m122 would give nice low down drive out and if what people are saying they weigh they are about 150 pounds lighter then an RB if the weights are correct
  3. Still here come take them
  4. Sitting in a box on the shelf
  5. How did you go with the sale richard come through?? I nearly brought an evo 5 RS out of japan a few weeks back im kicking myself now not for buying it was a great price
  6. these thing used to sell for 2k 12 monhs to two years ago so thought 600 for orginal nissan n1 turbo's is a pretty fair price when you need to spend 2500 for gt-ss turbo's the same size as these
  7. The more I look into it following the trend with an evo seems to be the only option to tick all boxes. Even if you didn't race the car in ipra the car would be built for it. Did some research on increasing a 4g63 capacity and found some nice info on bringing them out to 2.6 with a BC kit and a 4g64 block. Evo 5 are pretty cheap these days as well. Yeah it's a bit disappointing the cusco wrx and it's numbers. Will have to upgrade the dyno to awd tho with an evo
  8. Yeah I seen his build years back what he is selling it for is pretty cheap for what he wants. Budget would be what ever the parts costs can build engine tune it on the dyno weld up a cage and do all the work
  9. That is very true on the vh it's a big engine but a very good engine at that. Just love the idea of a turbo v8 gtr very different. I did see NASCAR are going efi and in testing which would be interesting. But again weight is an issue with a NASCAR engine and a gtr when an evo doesn't need much to get it to 1100. I will be competing next year with our r31 to see how we go so this build needs a bit of planing and thought to which car to pick and which engine to choose. The other thing in the back of my mind with swapping the engine out is for other classes like improved production etc an engine swap other than a bigger four or bigger 6 won't let the car run in that category so rules it out of a few classes
  10. I'm just anti chev been brought up in a ford house
  11. Roy the fact that it's a chev and it's becoming the norm just stick an ls engine in it. True with the more cost but with a set if hair dryers you would get away with a nice re grind of the cams to get up to 700hp.
  12. Yeah for those reasons it's a great engine but for a street engine to pass emissions and now with them in the shit it doesn't look like they will be building an over head cam engine. Your right weight is the key that's why I'm torn even tho I would like to build a gtr and like them a lot the extra weight is putting more off. Even tho I do like evo's and would love one it's not different and just following what is already out in front.

  14. Cheers mate never thought about us gt cars did think about a v8 supertaxi roller then read the rules and no space frame chassis. No a chev fan even tho make good power not a fan of chev and to be honest I don't know how they have gotten away with a 2 valve push rod v8 for so long. And the chicken cookers make good power sound insanse but don't last long enough.
  15. Been toying with building a time attack dedicated car for a while now and been looking at a few options and running them through my head. Seaming that lightweight awd 700hp cars like the cyber evo seem to cut the quickest times at eastern creek and also in japan and the US I'd like to keep those basics without building an evo or wrx and build something different. My first thought was a R32 gtr as I need a heap of interior parts to finish off my street gtr so that would work well. I was thinking of doing something different and selling the 26 and building a vh45 twin turbo and make the awd work bit of work but there is just enough room to mount a diff to the subframe and keep the diff and engine separate. My theory there with the v8 not needing big turbo's to get a nice 600-800hp range and have some nice low end drive out of corners torque. On the other hand on a big jenny Craig diet with carbon everything they curb at 1250-1350kg. So was thinking other lighter cars to start off with Silvia came to mind with the same v8 setup but no awd. Then I started to look at a GTIR and did a little reading and found they have a pretty poor weight distribution of around 65/35 and coments on understeer I'm sort of leaning away from that. I was even considering ditching the sr20 for a vq30det with a vq40 crank to bring it up to a 3.8 being that a vq isn't that much different in weight to a sr20 but will add a little more to the front. GTIR came to mind as they start at 1220kg so sub 1100kg should be achievable. In keeping I'd like to keep it in the Nissan family but did think about TX3 laser and a few other smaller awd cars around the 1100-1200kg mark. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated as I wouldn't just want to follow the crowd and build evo as I thought a v8 powered turbo gtr would be something different just think it might be a tad heavy seeing the GTR times at the last time attack. Cheers David
