I'm thinking to just keep on using the current engine because it will end up saving money initially, then if it blows do a Stagea/GT-R engine at that time

I have a R33 GTS-4 as well and I sometimes have the same issue, and I could never figure out why! Mine seems a little less serious though, mine will always start every time and wont backfire or cut out on idle. It only does it if I'm driving and I pull up to lights and pop it in neutral and brake, sometimes it will cut out. Sometimes if I start it back up straight after it will idle high (nearly 2k RPM) until i turn the car off and remove the key and wait a while. My car beeps 5 times after it is turned off too, I think it's the fuel pump that might do it, because my car is completely stock other than a Bosch 044 fuel pump which has been in since purchase, but I am no expert when it comes to cars. The only way I avoid this issue is engine braking down gears to second and when pulling up to lights only putting it into neutral once its under 1k RPM. -
I just wanted some guidance on my plans to turbo my 1996 GTS-4 Series II I've been doing some research on the forums about people who have chosen to do the same and found some useful information on this particular post http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/topic/244281-r33-gts4-engine-swap-to-a-turbo/ This week I'll be getting my GTS-T 5 stud conversion kit so I can have bigger brakes to handle a turbo, and to fit my Rays/ Eins wheels on to as well, but I have been trying to plan the turbo part of the plans. Thanks to the above post, it saved me planning to buy a GTS-T motor only to find out it wouldn't fit properly, so I'm now left with a few options: - Turbo my current engine, which is at 166,xxxkms (I have done nearly 50,000 of those kms, and has not been thrashed or abused, and the previous owner was a friend and treated the car the same since it came to AU). Either way it's pretty high in kms, but if I went ahead with that engine it would mean I would have higher compression, and would have to run low boost from what I understand (I'm no expert btw) - Buy a Stagea or GT-R($$$) engine with looms and ECU and possibly have much less kms and have it fitted either professionally or with some friends who know their way around this kind of stuff more than me to save money Either way I'd need a tune and an full exhaust to be able to have it working correctly, but which way would be smarter/ cheaper in the end? Any help or advice on this would be great. Like I said I'm not an expert but I'm keen to learn and find my way around this with the right help. Thanks in advance

Hello, as I've stated in the description I have had a jack knifed truck slide into the back of my 93 R33 writing it off. So I am after a NON TURBO skyline pref black and around the 100,000km mark if not lower. I will also take offers of GTS-4's as I am interested but know they are hard to come by, but so is a black non turbo S2. my insurance payout is expected to be around $10,000 so I am looking for around that price. I had previously found a non turbo 96 black S2 for 9800 neg with 86,000kms with full hks exhaust and other mods but the engine was converted to a turbo so basically I am hoping for a price around there with mods but if not thats okay. hello, i drive a 1993 R33 GTS automatic, and i jst wanted to find out about a small problem i have. whenever i put my foot down a bit on the pedal to accelerate it lags then speeds up after like, a second, then kicks in. on first gear it revs to about 6000 rpm then changes gears and i found that a bit much. second and third do the same and change at high revs. i asked a mechanic what was up with that and to just check it, and he said he changed this on the front of the engine block (srry im not that great under the hood) *refer to pic* from the top line (original way) to the bottom line (what he changed it to). it seemed to do nothing, if anything make it a little worse. after that, at times when i turn on the car it idles at aroud 1000 rpm, then after a while idling it drops a little, stays down a bit then goes up after a while back to 1000 rpm. if anyone has any ideas on whats wrong please let me know, i dont really like the lag when i speed up. my mums vr commodore speeds up way better than mine lol thanks
