  1. I got a longer one to suit my RB30DE and had to shorten by 50mm. I was able to gently cut the outer sleeve at the 50mm length and then with side cutters cut each ring of the outer sleeve off. Took a bit of effort but got it there. I shortened the firewall end where it seats into the firewall bracket Nigel
  2. I could be wrong but I would be surprised if the VCT hub/timing gear would fit the RB26 cam shaft. Also the oil galleries are not in the RB26 cam for the front most bearing. (where the RB25 VCT is feed) Not sure you will get much from it with your setup. I kept the VCT active with my RB30DE but then it was easy. Nigel
  3. Definitely more torque as N-DAWG has said. However use the pistons out of the RB25 and it lifts the compression to 10:1. For my RB30DE I used the R33 RB25 head and kept the VCT. (you can use the R32 RB25 non vct head if you like. Its easier but the intake ports are slightly smaller so "may" not perform quite as well) My R32 only had a RB20DE so the difference in grunt with the RB30DE is substanial. And this is all on std R33 RB25 ECU, std cams, RB20DE exhaust, RB20DET throttle body and RB25 injectors. RB20DE fuel pump. Only non factory part used is custom front facing plenum and air cleaner No go fast bits at all so if you want to put more dosh into it there plenty more to be had before a turbo is required. Nigel
  4. Yip I have used a R33 RB25 head. And yes I had custom sticker/decal made for the cover to read NISSAN 3.0 24 VALVE TWIN CAM I sell the decals on Trademe.co.nz in the parts section for Nissans (Pic below is earlier than original pic above while the engine was fitted to spare R32 Skyline. It was while I was sorting battery relocation, intake setup and plenum-to-bonnet clearances) Nigel
  5. RB30DE in a R32 Skyline
  6. Error 53 for programming is usually the code for missing files Have you setup the folder locations for the master files. Its the CD location setup but instead of the CD you need to tell it where the folders containing the master files are on your hard drive. Master file for mine are A1 A2 A3 B1 B2 Nigel
  7. I recently took a RB20DE out to replace with a RB30DE. I separted the gearbox from the engine leaving the gearbox in place. If you support the back of the gearbox on a trolly jack and undo the cross member this will allow sliding the engine/gearbox forward a couple of inches to get at the top gearbox bolts. I then bolted the cross member back in with the rear bolt holes of the crossmember bolted to the forward holes of the body to hold the gearbox forward. I then supported the front of the gearbox with the jack to separate the engine. Naturally the radiator and air con radiator needs to be out to slide the engine forward. I lifted the engine out and in without the need to tilt it. Theres enough room with the radiators out. Nigel
  8. Check tyhe Idle Control valve on the back of the plenum that it is not stuck http://www4.wave.co.nz/~lakewood/Skyline/IAC.htm I have just put in a new RB30DE (last week) into a R32 Skyline and forgot to plug in the AAC valve so it would start with partial throttle open but not without. Its the AAC valve that manages idle air flow. Also the Cold Air Regulator maybe faulty. http://www4.wave.co.nz/~lakewood/Skyline/ColdAirReg.htm However I had removed mine on my original RB20DE 2 years ago and blocked off the vaccum lines. I didn't fit it to the new RB30DE. Nigel
  9. Ok guys. This is for a RB30 with R33 25 head into a R32 Skyline using RB25DE ECU I have both the R32 RB20 and R33 RB25 ECU pinouts sheets. 1. Injector change from ECU pins 112 and 114 sorted (easy swap) 2. VCT ground at pin 113 sorted (easy fit) and 12v power to VCT solenoid hooked in with the ACC valve power in 3. TPS pins 30, 38 and 48 all good for the TPS "position" 4 HOWEVER TPS pinouts 54 and 57 on RB20 are for TPS ON or OFF but there is no corresponding R33 pinout. R33 pin 57 is used for Exhaust Temp and 54 not at all. The R33's uses this part of the TPS but how does the ECU know about it. The RB25DET wiring diagram shows the TPS ON/OFF going to some other plugs but not how it gets to the ECU 5 What is pin 17 Injection Pulse (Ti Monitor) signal. RB20DET doesn't use this pin Cheers Nigel
  10. Please note these items are from New Zealand so I can't do cash on delivery Sorry for not making this clear Nigel Nichols
  11. These are decals to replace the "NISSAN 2500 " decals on R33 twin cam head coil cover to represent the RB30 twin cams. http://i202.photobucket.com/albums/aa131/r...AN30DECAL-1.jpg $15.50 New Zealand Made for the R33 coil cover They self adhesive and designed to fit over the original decal. Text is silver and red overlay onto high quality black self adhesive vinyl. These will NOT fit the R32 twin cam panel. Email me at Lakewood@wave.co.nz if interested. Can except PayPal at Delia@wave.co.nz Nigel
