Questions Regarding Turbo Selection For Rb25det
Housie replied to Housie's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Thanks for all the replys, very much appreicated! I always had the intention of doing injectors, fuel pump and airflow meter anyway. Im really interested in the HKS GT-RS bolt on kit, initially was turned off by the Just Jap Price of $3800, but when i realised nungun and slide where doing them for a grand cheaper, it has sparked my interest! New Question for the day. Do the 300zx T/T stock injectors (430cc/min) fit the rb25det? or is it the same story as the gtr injectors top v's side feed? 2nd Question for the day. Would the Greddy Emanage Blue be a satisfactory piggyback ECU to run my desired tune/setup outline in first post? Cheers. Jason -
i'll be there with bells on (and chromies off!) lol

Questions Regarding Turbo Selection For Rb25det
Housie replied to Housie's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Its running the lowest duty cycle % with the gizmo IBC, so around 8 PSI max. Its going great, but rather replace a turbo now than an engine later. thats the fun bit LOL -
Questions Regarding Turbo Selection For Rb25det
Housie replied to Housie's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
What about this bolt on kit? Seems a good price for a garrett setup. What are the arguments for internal V's External Gate? This kit is internal. http://www.tweakit.net/shop/product_info.p...roducts_id=6637 [edit] WTF Turbine Housing are they using on this kit? Doesnt match up to any GT30 on turbobygarrett.com HELP! -
Questions Regarding Turbo Selection For Rb25det
Housie replied to Housie's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
wow, cheers for quick responses. Didnt really consider the 2nd hand option, alot of dogey stuff gets done as we all know lol. Air research is garretts old stuff ay? Found a to4 Air research done under 2000km/s since being hiflowed ($2000 worth apprantly, with reciepts). Came off a 13b. Sounds ok? but that would need to be high mounted correct? and new flanges fabricated etc..... owww bolt on is so easy, dont want to have to pull the welder out the shed HAHA -
Im pretty sure i know the answer, but would like to have it confirmed to reduce my concerns. Firstly, unfortunelty all my spare cash in getting poured into my wedding fund, and outlaying $3000+ for a bolt on HKS/Garrett turbo isnt even thinkable BUT, im crapping myself about the stock turbo, its going strong but the car's comming up tp 90,000kms and i sure as hell dont want bits of worn ceramic reeking havoc anytime soon. So, im set on a new Turbo. After hours of reading the massive debates about MonstA, JJR and KKR turbos i think the general concensus is to stear clear of MonstA all together. JJR and KKR most people consider to be identical, correct? with a few pointing out slight differences such as how long each individual turbo is balanced etc with most suggesting KKR receive superior balancing compared to JJR. I think i even read that KKR is balanced using VSR which apparently Garrett use??? So at this stage of my essay, it would appear that KKR are the best turbo chargers in my budget (also apparently a very good warranty???). OK, so now do i go the kkr 430 or kkr 480? My overal aim performance wise it to achieve 250-270rwkws. I need a turbo that can help me achieve this with the following supporting mods FMIC Apexi Filter IN/EX Adjustable Cam Gears GTR Injectors (unrelated question 1: are they a direct replacement for the rb25det stock injectors? Unrelated question 2, is an aftermarket ECU required for injector swap? it is right?) 4inch Catback Exhaust Hiflow Cat 3" Dump & front pipes Fuel Pump (undecided on exact pump to use, recomendations?) So the kkr 430 will have less lag, but will have to work harder to achieve 250-270rwkws. Were as the kkr 480 will lag like bs but will easily push the required PSI to hit 250-270rwkws. So, what turbo out of the two do u recommend? At this stage im leaning towards the kkr430. Agree? Disagree? Discuss! All replys appreciated!!! Cheers Jason

Nar its not them. Bloody yocal (yes, 'y') kids stole my valve caps, and now there getting their rocks off by letting down my tyres. Hmmm, inflating tyres with mustard gas should give them a nice suprise Jason

Caboolture / Morayfield / Northside Skyline Owners
Housie replied to RandomHero83's topic in Queensland
Add me to the cruise list. Im border northside/westside just out of the city. Currenty im at bracken ridge tech everyday. The list of skylines in the rear carpark (not including mine which is a grey 33 gtst on 18's) isnt bad at all looks a little to 'organised' when all five are parked next to each other haha. White r33 gtst dumped on alloys Metalic Blue r32 gtst + blue flame tint Grey r32 gtst + drift toy lol Grey r33 gtst dumped on stockos. Any of those cars you guys? -
have u checked the boost the turbo is generating; rather than the pressure at the manifold/boost guage? Just curious to see what the compartive figures would be with the ebay intercooler. Dont want to go cooking the hiflowed stocka! ...but yes results show nothing odd!
