  10. Its a S2 engine, using the S1 coilpacks and S1 wiring/ecu etc. Will try the tape i think. But the turbo noise is waaay different than beforehand. Are S1 and S2 turbos different at all?
  11. Hey Guys, Heres the story. Changed the motor in the r33 and replaced it with a S2 motor, using the s1 coil packs and wiring harness. Now under load and above 4000rpm it is missing and popping quite a bit. The s1 coil packs which are being used were working perfectly fine before the motor change. I have changed plugs with new NGK Bcpr6es gapped at 1.1 . Beforehand it was missing at all rev range, now its just missing above 4000rpm. Boost gauge is showing about 0.4 - 0.5 bar, HOWEVER, the turbo seems to be sounding like it is spooling quite a lot more than before the motor change. (Alot more whistle). Possible causes is that I have hooked up the vacuum lines wrong? (The s2 motor has some different vac setup). But there is no hunting at idle and its not running rich? Also, there is a really small vac hose at the rear of the inlet manifold, I cannot find where this once went?? Its about a 3-4mm diameter. Could this be the cause and if so, where does it go lol Im shocking.. I know alot of you will say coilpacks, based on what the search has showed me. But I would like to tackle some other areas first before i go fork out for some splitfires!! Any help would be muchly appreciated
  12. Sorry all!! Located in Murrumba Downs which is just before Redcliffe heading north from brissy! Cheers
  13. Up for sale is a complete Rebuilt Bottom End for an RB25det including honed bores, rings and bearings ready for assembly! Along with the rebuilt bottom end is the RB25det head, turbo, coil packs, wiring harness (S2), manifolds, alternator, air compresser, power steering pump, pretty much the complete motor! The old block is included as the harmonic balancer, sump, water pump and oil pump is yet to be removed. One of the rings failed in it deeming the bottom end useless hence the replacement. Reason for sale is that a higher performance motor was found and purchased! This stuff is no longer needed. Please give me a call to discuss on 0437 054 227 for any questions. Pricewise im looking for $900 for the lot!! Otherwise if I can gain enough interest in the following, ill go that way! Rebuilt Bottom end - $200 Head - $450 Turbo and Manifold - $250 Inlet Manifold and various pipes - $100 Coil Packs & Wiring Harness (Series 2) - $100 Alternator, power steering pump, air con compresser, water pump, oil pump - $90 each Would rather the lot go as one so please buy it!! I need a fridge!!
  14. The bottom coil adjustment is about half/half, and the top bolt is just on the thread (ie the shaft of the shocks are just above the top of the bolt. Would having the wheels in the air for an extended time do this? Because thats the only thing I can think of really.
  15. Naa it all seemed smooth as! Dropped it in extremely carefully. But I suppose thats a possibility I may have done something.Another thing I forgot to mention is they are Coilover types i think. Ones with the adjuster at the bottom of the spring and the bolt at the top. Can it simply be a case of stiffening the spring? (Not that it explains what the go is though )
  16. Straight engine swap by replacing a S1 motor with a S2 motor.I dont recall at all undoing any sway bars. Was pretty much engine mounts, bellhousing bolts and the little things here and there and that was it.The shocks i think are khoni adjustables with a bolt at the top, and i think a something to adjust underneath. Its just like they are now ultra soft and i go over 1 bump and the front goes up and down constantly for about 10 seconds. Plus, it is bottoming out a lot more obviously due to the softness :(Can I simply adjust them at all? Is it the top bolt i adjust or underneath? (Sorry new to this)
  17. Hi, Can anyone tell me whats going on? I have just changed the motor in an R33 gtst which has khoni adjustables at the front, and the from suspension is extremely soft and bounces like a boat in waves as im driving along. I did not touch the suspension at all, just a simple jack the car up, change the motor and put it back down?? wtf? Any help would be greatly appreciated
  18. Hey mate, How much for power steering rack? Also, I may be interested in the motor. Can it be heard running?
  19. Yeah. Well to his credit the seller has been very co-operative and decided to give a full refund (Within half an hour of emailing him). Just means I have to take it back out again but given the situation i am a little more relieved. I have a rebuilt bottom end which i was practically given but i didnt really want to go the rebuild stage with the gaskets and all that as I just want a reliable car again... But since I have probably halved the time of removing and replacing an rb25det motor due to experience, I may give it a go :D The old head that was on the blown motor I still have, so I may get that crack tested and skimmed or whatever it needs.
  20. Hi mate thanks alot for the reply. Its a S2 motor going into a S1 r33, but I used all the S1 accessories/loom.. etc. Anyways, i got it running it turned out i didnt have the CAS clipped in fully... BUT... Start it, runs for about 30 seconds, starts sounding chattery, black smoke out the exhaust, revs fluctuating....... Turn it off, pull the dipstick and its coffee white in colour, with water leaking out of the exhaust.. I cant win my last motor blew whilst my mother was driving it at about 60km/h, and now ive spent 2 days installing this one to find out it has a blown head gasket/cracked block... who knows im over it. So now Im out of options. How much is it for a shop to fix a head gasket? shave the head and all that??
