I had a car towed from the SA/VIC border to Christies Downs when I was on a road trip back from Melbourne using the RAA. 2 tow trucks and 1 phone call, and I didn't have to pay a cent. I'm on the full membership, though. RAA are awesome! And why wont tow trucks not touch the car just because it isn't working? Just say it's working and then when they get there, just say "the engine exploded a minute ago". They only tow it onto a truck, anyway.

You have a OBD2 connector. OBD1 finished at the 32's. 33 onwards came out with the 2's.
