ive jst been reading up on rota's, with works ofcourse you dont really need to, this is what ive found, its either you love them or hate them, theres no middle ground, some people think theyr cheap rip offs and break easy, others have prooved they dont and theyr more than replicas, ROTA has taken alot of time engineering them, and offering better offsets at good prices, but theyr cast wheel not forged so are abit more susceptible to breaking, not very popular with GTRs here in australia, but having a look at aht GTR UK forums lots of people are running them without any problems, lets crank the debate up, ROTA GTR (LMGT4) vs ROTA GRID (Te37) both in white same size and offset 18x10 +15

sorry to hijack, but i wana do something similar, i have apexi boost cage mounted on steering wheel, i wana get a 52 mm autoguage boostguage off justjap, would all the wiring need to be redone, or can you somehow disconnect the wiring and plug it onto the new boost guage? cheers Adam

so guys im thinking about geting new rims for the GTR sometime soon, bit confused over what i should get, origninally wanted XD9s but considering other options as well, after lookin at these pics i think white XD9s would look awesome on my gtr in 18x10 + 18 offset but also seirously considering ROTA GRID DRIFT in white 18x10 + 15, i think theyr the ones which look like the TE37s as compared to the ROTA GTR's which look like the LMGT4's what do guys think? i think the price difference is a couple of hundred , will probably be lookin at 3200 for the works and 2700 for the ROTA GRIDS with Falken 18/265's all round . What do you guys reckon, car will also be getting the Bilstein Suspension Kit that Dan @ ERD sells, and the one i thnk Colin has, any feedback would be appreciated, Cheers Adam

hey mate, as the others said, look on the Rb26 dyno thread in the forced induction section, its a sticky, will find it very helpful, im currently gettin work done on my R33 GTR, wil be hoping around 230 to 250 awkw,( standard turbos at 0.9 bar, HKS cam gears, gates timing belt kit, front pipes, high flow cat, 3 inch catback, power fc, boost controller, project mu brake pads) just an indication as to what you would need for 250awkw+ safely assuming your car is stock now: 1.) You can run standard turbos but if you run them above 1 bar they wont last long as they have ceramic wheels, could be potentially dangerous coz if they blow they sometimes send bits of metal into the engine as well then you will need to rebuild the engine as well, hence i am only running 0.9 bar to be safe. standard from the factory r33 gtrs run 0.8 bar (around 0.84 to be precise) anyway yeh if you wana be safe and have room for more reliable power in the future, i would recommend HKS 2530's, wonderful turbos they bolt on , you wont loose that much response either, i think around 3K mark brand new, 2.) Nismo AFMs, again you can get away with standard afms but you said you want to have a reliable car, then better be safe then sorry. 3.) Air induction kit, apexi ones run around 800 dollars and you can hook them up to the aftermarket AFMs 60mm nismo ones or 80mm Z32 ones depending on which ones you get and what kit you buy 4.) full exhaust - the exhaust consists of a few components, the dump pipes from the turbos, then the front pipes , then high flow cat and then finally the catback. you could buy them all from on brand e.g. HKS or you could seperate brands and save money . Just an indication of prices: - HKS dumps ( i would buy high quality dumps as theyr structure can affect performance alot) : $800 - Front Pipes many brands available i chose JustJap ones coz theyr cheap and designed pretty well : $329 shipped or $650 for Blitz ones shipped - High flow cat many to choose from factors to look for include the cells etc which affect airflow - about $350 - finnaly catback 3 inch atleast - most expensive component many brands on average a good exhaust system will cost you $1000 you can find them second hand cheaper, also depends what type you get, me and brandon have titanium exhast systems which are very pricy around $3K mark, but imo not worth the money, HKS Hi-Power $1100 or kakimoto ones for around same price. 4.) Electronic Boost controller - to control what boost you want to run, you can get them around 350 dollars again depends on brand etc, or if you want you can buy the Apexi boost control kit with the PowerFC and run boost from the handcontroller (pm me if you want one im selling mine) 5.)Power FC - aftermarket ecu good for tuning, order from japan around 1000 or find them second hand, i got mine second hand from a guy on the forum, regularly for sale 6) Aftermarket Cams - these will help power delivery and response, 1200 for Tomei Poncams. 7) Cam gears - help with tuning and allow finer tuning compared to factory items - $600 brand new HKS or Tomei or OS Giken. also would be worthwhile considering getting Gates timing belt kit coz youl save on labour as the work involved for cam gears overlaps pretty much with timing belts, these belts are 300 times stronger than factory and car wil run smoother 8.) at this power stock clutch will last depending on how you drive and its condition, but to be safe get an aftermarket one, you can get you current one rebuilt by the reputable Jim Berry and a few others in australia , or get something from NPC again australia i think around 1K mark, or you could get Nismo Twin Plate , very good clutch form what i heard for around $2000. 9.) Injectors - again better be safe than sorry, prices depend on what flow injectors you want, if you want room for a lot more power in the future 1000CC injectors will be a one time investment and you will never need to get injectors again, or 700CC to 800CC will do fine as well for 300KW, around $800 plus for SARD or other brands. thats all i think of right now, like i said before, you can cut many items of the list for 270 to 300kw, but you said you want reliablity, then if you get all these parts you will not have to worry about a thing and engine will run safe, also might wana consider performance brake pads, people often mods theyr cars and forget about important aspects such as braking, remeber its jst as important to brake as it is to accelerate if you know what i mean, i got my Project-MU B-Spec pads all 4 for $550 delievered, also slotted rotors depending on how much you wana spend. i would also recommend running atleast 255 tyres all around to get good traction. service every 5000Ks with fully synthetic oil, Motul or Royal Purple Everyone else pleae feel free to correct me if im made any mistakes, but this is what i think would get you a very reilable 300AWKW+ R33 GTR, hope my post was helpful cheers Adam

yeh thats tru, i was jst being stupid at the time and left, coz there there was a certain very attractive female in the passenger seat who kept on askin me to leave and against my better judgement i did, i was just angry about the timing of the whole thing, i actually asked RACQ to give me the contact details of the person so i could apologise to them, but they said thats not allowed, so i forwarded a message to the owner through RACQ, apologising and hoping there were no hard feelings, hope i dont have to pay over 400 coz im broke anyway with all this moving house bulls**t then all the money being spent on the GTR. guess Xbox360 will have to be put on hold.
