  1. I bought a used AP Engineering powerFc off yahoo japan which I am running on my NA 180sx which is now been turbo'ed. I took it into HiPower Racing in slacks creek for tuning and they said they could not connect to my power fc, but also said the tune and air/fuel are fine. Anyone had experience with a locked PowerFC???

  2. As I have a PowerFC I cant use these items. They are both new in the box

    The R-VIT Tye II is the silver face model brand new in the Box from Japan (Manual is in Japanese) Plugs into the consult diagnostic plug and shows all information available via consult diagnostic plug on 90-96 Nissans and some 89 & 96-99 Nissans

  3. i would be checking out a nistune. as far as i'm aware all sr20de ecu's can be remapped as they aren't any different to the earlier ones. all 180sx engines are the same, as they didn't change them like they did with the silvias. also on the nistune website they have boards for the later turbo models anyway (s14 and s15 det). they also do them for late model pulsars which run the distributor setup on the sr20de.

    i would contact nistune directly with your ecu number and ask them if you can put a board in. or was it the guys at nistune that said you couldn't do it? if so, i'd look at the possibility of putting in the ecu from a n15 SSS in as they can have a nistune board added.

    There is some issue chipping that late model 180sx cpu as they do not have the connecter pins for the daughterboard. But I managed to buy a used powerfc on yahoo this week so my problem is sorted. Its a FC3S one modified by AP Engineering to SUIT SR20DE in the late model 180sx. Its a rare item and I have never seen one for sale before but it suits my needs perfectly

  5. Looks ok. Just chuck in a arm and see what its like or You can just replace it with an adjustable lower arm off ebay and it does not matter if their is a alignment problem as you can adjust it out. Had the same damage on my old r32 and thats what I did

  6. I have just fitted a Turbo kit to my 1997 180sx which had factory SR20de (non Turbo) with Distributer setup. Its running fine but I dont want to get it on boost till I sort out a safe tune. I have discovered that my late model CPU cannot be re-chipped with the daughterboard like the eariler SR20 Cpus and I cant run an eariler CPU without changing the loom which I dont want to do as I will also have to convert the engine to coilpacks/cas. I just wonder if I can use an SAFC and that will be ok for fueling the turbo setup or will I need something more. Is there anyway to set up a 180sx Blacktop Sr20det powerfc to run a distriuter setup?

  7. Hi my Gfs R33 has the Alt and Hicas lights on all the time since she bought it

    Alt is fine and is charging the battery so no problems there. (even took it out and had it tested)

    The wires to the hicas motor on the diff have been damaged prior to her buying it so I have disconnected the plugs. Would this be the reason the Alt light is on? It does not effect the car at all its just annying having the alternator light on all the time

  8. Cars imported under the old 15 year rule (now the 88 and older rule) cant fail compliance as in qld Its just a mod plate to show new seatbelts / side intrusion bars etc are fitted. It has nothing to do with the actual condition of the car however you might find engineers may not want to put their mod plate on a rusty heap of junk

  9. To registered a 15 year import in qld you needed a qld engineer to fit a Mod plate with LO1 engraved on it (L01 means adr compliant). To register the same car in NSW you needed a NSW engineers cert which is just a A4 piece of paper basicly saying the same thing. If you want to register in both states you needed both. Just get a NSW engineers cert and you should be fine to register it in NSW. Check out sapid.com.au as he is an engineer for both states
