  1. I have a set of Tein HE/HA Coilovers. The are on my car at the moment while I am waiting for my new coilovers so buyer is welcome to test drive. The are height and damper adjustable and the fronts also have base height adjustable which means changing the height does not affect the damper stroke which is the problem with most cheaper coilovers. $750 for the set. I forgot to take a picture of the HE's before I fitted them so Gold pair is a sample picture.

  2. They dont need the Jap dereg. They keep if for their records but can comply the car without it. How do you think workshop compliance cars imported from NZ, US etc. No jap dereg!! If they wont comply it request that it gets signed over to another workshop. What type of car is it? The Stagea?

  3. writes off can never be registered - parts only

repairable writeoffs can be registered after inspection however you must have all receipts for parts that are purchased for the repair or they wont sign off the paperwork. I believe the registered writeoff scheme is more related to reducing the use of stolen parts, then the quality of the repairs. cost of the inspection is about $450?

theres a formular they use to decided if its a writeoff, or repairable write off. Usally writeoffs have bad structual damage, and reapirable writeoff dont but the insurance company would have to pay too much to fix it so they just pay it out.

also if a car is more then 15 years old then they dont get listed as a writeoff / repairable writeoff so better to buy something 1993 and older as you dont have to go thru the above bullshite.

This is from my experience and not in anyway garanteed as correct

  4. Monster are middleman becuase most of us cant buy direct from yahoo auctions japan. Basically its like getting someone to buy items off ebay for you. There is some risk as there are some dodgy sellers on yahoo. As for PowerFC for under $1000. They are now available from the US new for under $1000 delivered for Rb25det. Theres a big link here on SAU about it.

As for the cheap price buying from Yahoo. I have bought lots of stuff from yahoo japan and I can say that the air postage and air freight usually ruins an otherwise good deal. No point buying coilvers for $400 and then paying $400 in auction fees and air postage just to find out the are stuffed. Best to buy things that are small and light

Its usually not worth buying big or heavy parts unless you want to wait 6 weeks for sea shipping or pay alot for air shipping

  7. Are reading about the trouble with DBA I have been thinking of getting some parts in from Japan

I am thinking of getting this pad and rotor setup for the track days, and change back to my usual pads for street and drift. Anyone tried these products? Only looking at them as they are quite a cheap setup

    Under $1000 landed and fitted

ACRE Carbon Metal + Titanium Ceramic 40-900deg Race Pads for front and rear

KTS Slotted Rotors for front and rear.

    0r

MD2005 Slotted and Dimpled which will cost a bit more

+ Racing Gear or DPP Braided Lines

  8. I had one in my GTR. I could drive it fine after a few days but when I went to sell the car every person who test drove the car stalled the car 4-5 times trying to drive off. I warned people about it before they test drove and I would always drive the car 1st to show how easy it was but always got anwsers like "I drive race cars" , "I have a 500hp Rx7" etc and they thought they would have no problem. Then they would just stall it. and stall it, and stall it. Sometimes they gave up and I had to drive back. Ended up selling the the car to some 60 year old guy from up the sunshine coast

  9. My pallet is coming to Brisbane, and she is doing a couple to Goldcoast for someone else. These are coming AIRFREIGHT so wont be cheap but will be fast (Within 2 weeks)

I had an RB26 HKS Crank, a set or KTS Coilovers and some smaller parts just sent over and the total was 62kg

I was charged $700 by TNT which I didnt think was very cheap as it was a small package.

EMS(Air Mail) is not much more expensive. 62kg would cost $820 but the problem with EMS is the maxium of 20kg per parcel and the Crank was 26kg so I had to use TNT

  10. My friend is back in Japan for the next 6 weeks for Uni Holidays. She will be packing up my 2 sets of track wheels for me and sending them back to Australia. If anyone wants to share some pallet space let me know and I will forward you her contact details. I think there will be room for a couple more sets of wheels on my pallet.

She does not want lots of questions from timewasters. She can help people that have bought big items from Yahoo auctions etc and dont know how to get them back to Australia. I think she will be doing some pallets for other people but its all being charged to my TNT account so I will be able to give some guide price as TNT charge me.

She does have a forklift at her Fathers business in Japan for loading pallets but she does not want to be doing very heavy items (Engines, Gearboxes) as its not worth the effort (Unless you want to make it worth it for her)

Parts would need to be sent to Tochigi (2 Hours from Tokyo)

  11. The computer will plug in to both looms. RB20 Cpu can be remapped / rechipped to suit RB25 and auctually when you want a remapped cpu for a rb25 workshops always use the the rb20 cpu. The reason is the rb20 cpu has a removable chip and is easy to remap / rechip. The rb25 cpu does not have a removable chip and cant easily be upgraded (Upgrade chip to suit Rb25 motor for an Rb20 computer is about $40 + $70 for TV repair type person to install)

Most likely you will have a rb25 engine, rb25 loom and rb20 computer chipped to run a rb25. and of course a rb25 powerfc will fit and not sure what the guy who poste above means but the power fc completely replaces the std computer
