    Car Service

most machnic can service a skyline- its not much different to camry in terms of draining oil etc Describe what you actually would like done! all fluids? Pently of workshops in the dandy area which isn't too far
  2. ^^non turbo are easier to sell! Exactly my point- r34 are really cheap now days! Personally knowing how hard it is to sell a skyline, i wouldn't pay anymore than 9k for a series 2. If you actually want to sell the car that is, otherwise you can advertise and just hope. with the KM, you can put what ever you want on the dash i would say 80% have beem adjusted anyways so it doesn't play such an important factor. I would rather get slightly higher km as i would know they are more likely to be gen
  3. 12-14k i seriously doubt! R33 don't go for that much now days. pretty tough market out there series 1 can be 7.5k-8.5k series 2 can 8k-10k I was happy to part with my series 1 at 7.5k. Very simular mods, probably a few more but no extra boost or anything.
  4. wow normally these issue are resolved by new coil packs! sounds like you have tried everything
  5. reason for such a large fine is that you don't have TAC insurance incase of major accident. i think that cover hospital and insurance related matters. Pretty large fine you are right. If you look at the rego sticker you will notice what is about 50% of the actual fee
  6. without degreasing the the engine yet (which i will do over the weekend) i know the cam and crank seals are fine and the rockets are good too. there must me some small hose that has come loose and its frustrating not been able to locate the leak lol maybe some sort of breather....
  7. Look apart from the smallish leak the car is perfect and I said earlier I’m playing the blame game as I’m really happy with the car! Don't mean to be rude but I’m not asking for your "opinion" what is an issue and is not. I said earlier that I was just wondering what the law in this situation is IF the rwc is dodgy. This has now been resolved so there is no need for you to further try and dig deeper into this. As for the RWC pump seizing was just bad luck and coped it on the chin. Doesn't mean the car is a lemon as the pump was not leaking! If you pay a decent shop to change gasket and they continue to leak (due to poor labour), then most places will attempt to fix the problem free of charge, to protect the rep ( i checked and this was not the case this time) If you wanted to actually contribute to the discussion you could say the rwc rule about oil leak as I’m sure it defined somewhere. But like I said I got everything under control, thanks for your input.
  8. lol i reckon lock this tread! serious i guess everyone has already said you are an idiot. How many hrs did you do on your Lz? I remember gunning it once because i didn't want to stop at a red. Unlucky having an ethnic father lol but i learnt the hard way and still remember what yellow means
  9. yer its always been 5 points, unless it changed recently 40% of tred on good tyres is still decent- it seems like the person behind the wheel is to blame. Anyways i'm sure you can learn from this (hopefully) and just take the punishment like man
  10. lol this thread is funny as!
  11. ^^ lol i dunno how this is going to look? yer pretty unlucky maybe slow down a bit! GL with it all, keep in mind u only got 3 lol You do realise that u need to enter and LEAVE the intersection before you get fined! hence u always get 2 flashes
  12. LOL is that a serious question? Do you not see this the same way as everyone else? You were doing 40km over the speed limit and had your liscence for 4 weeks...... have fun trying If you require your liscence for work, start preparing the documentation to get an exemption for work purposes ONLY! with that sort of speed you may also be rejected, although normally they can be pretty generous
  13. YER pretty much, only appear after about 30min i reckon
  14. ^^ oil leaks don't just apear from the sky! there is such a strong oil smell that i can't turn on the heater or air con because it smells. As the post says earlier, i'm not interested in responding to your opinion and i'm just wondering wat are the legal issues associated. Clearly not asking for your opinion about the leak- ok? Info that i was after has been posted above and this thread can be closed! THANK YOU GUYS FOR THE INFORMATION PROVIDED, MUCH APPRECIATED
  15. cheers for the information- that's what i was after, there is no way i'm going to pursue this civilly for a couple of hundred buxs nor can i be bothered going through the trouble of going to vicroads etc to get nothing out of it. Like i said, i'm keen to get the fixed up and thats it! I'm a reasonable person but if some seal are leaking that he changed, then i see it as a warranty issue of his labour. plus the machanic seems like a top/reasonable sort of person so i'm sure we can work something out between us!
  16. your a clown- "stuff it for the rest of us" if a machanic gives a dodgey rwc for you to transfer a car thats good for you. When you pay top dollar for a car you expect a proper RWC with it.
  17. Look at it like this- I'm not trying to establish this as an rwc item. What is the procedure for a buyer who recieve a car with a dodgey rwc? There would have to be some form of legislation procedure to follow?
  18. I'm concerned if there is a breach of rwc liscence. If u pass a car that is not, then obviously u risk a suspension. I'm not stupid, obviously I don't expect a rwc to be a machanic report, but another rwc tester told me that this an rwc issue and I should take it back to the issuer. In 28 days there should be no leaks. Plus the mechanic told me he washed the engine for rwc!
  19. btw the car is mitsu verada not the r33 So its the 3.5 v6. Seals changed- cam (2), crank, rocket cover. These are fine- oil filter, oil pan, rear main. Any ideas what else it could be, its coming from above the oil filter region so my guess is that the cam seal wasn't fitted properly during the timing belt kit
  20. Hey guys recently i bought a car and the machanic that issued the rwc missed a few obvious things. For RWC he picked up: rocket cover gaskets, seat belt and few bits and pieces. As i was driving the car home from the previous owner the water pump siezed up, yes as pissed off as i was i spoke to him and he said that its not really an rwc issue. So i decided the cop it on the chin and paid for a water pump and timing belt kit to be fitted from the same bloke. Now i look and see the car leaves small puddles of oil (oil leak), when the heater/ air con is on, it smells too. Now i'm not a tight ass but serious cbf paying for this to be fixed! he has changed cam, crank and rocket cover gaskets so the oil seal left is a rear main lol (which i'm 100% sure is fine!) I have booked it in for him to have a look at it but i'm pretty firm and i intend to stand my groud and not pay for the repair as he has give an RWC for the car 2 weeks ago and done ALL work on the car over the last 2 yrs (including timing belt and water pump at my cost)! What is the law in this case? Not interested in taking to vic roads or shame the work shop, just want my car fixed up! i would probably pay an additional 100 bucks at the absolute max JUST WANT THE CAR FIXED. I have also noticed a few small things he missed but like i said i'm not a ball breaker and i can fix it up in my own time, but the leak is giving me the shits hard!
  21. *starts car and stocks up*
  22. lol guys watch the waist line, the amount of crap in 1 mother is too much- why would you want 24 lol plus sausage rolls are jst rank lol
  23. Plus on ebay you have the risk that the buyer doesn't pay, pretty hard to sell a car like that. Dealers will give you next to nothing for an import- too many around and now P Plater are not buying them anymore.
