Hi Fellas, recently got my 400R side skirts. I trial fitted them on my car yesterday (keep in mind they are not painted, just in white gel coat) and took photos with the 400R side skirts and the other random ones I had on it before. Which side skirts do you guys think looks better on the R33? I am sort of starting to regret buying them, looking at the photos I think my other ones look better, more streamlined and suited to the R33 body? Cheers

Buddy, I am not getting into specifics, I was giving an example and making a general point as I am trying to help him out. I recently built my RB25/30 front top to bottom, everything is brand new including the ECU I'm running. I've got a 12 month warranty on the engine, the tune, the turbo, EVERYTHING. If you want to buy and install your performance parts from shops that don't offer warranty, that's your problem. As soon as I come across an issue, I take it to my mechanic/tuner, and he fixes it right away, no questions asked. He'll contact the supplier, and they send down a replacement product within 1 week (like when my wastegate screwed up).' If my turbo fails due to the lack of oil pressure, I'll take my car to my mechanic and say fix it, and I'am not bearing any of the cost, and rightly so.

If that's the case, then it's your fault for being a silly bugga and buying something with no warranty.... And it doesn't matter that they don't offer express warranty, there is also implied warranty in australian law... Contact your local office of fair trading, see if they can assist you with anything. That will surely give the shop a scare. If that doesn't work, you can always take the shop the the small claims tribuneral.

There's always warranty mate, I don't know what shops you've been taking your car to? If you install a $4,000 turbo, and it is tuned and installed properly, and the turbo breaks, you send that sh!t right back to where you bought it from.

Mate, you made the first mistake of giving it to another shop to fix it. If something is wrong, take it to the shop that did the work. It will be very difficult to prove now that the shop that originally did the work was in fault. Lesson learned I guess.

EY fellas, Yesterday, being a hot day, I turned on my air con (haven't turned it on in a while) and warm air started blowing out of the vents (I set the climate to the lowest setting, 18 degrees). I have an R33 GTST I know that the air con is engaging because when I press the A/C button the revs blimp up slightly and the idle sounds different. Anyway, about 3 months ago, my air con was FREEZING cold. I recently got a RB25/30 conversion with an Autronic SM4 and I was wondering, could it possibley be that when the mechanic was taking the engine out, the gas from the air con mechanism escaped? I am not too sure how air con works, hence the reason I am asking what it could be, would it just need a gas refill because the engine was taken apart? ANy help would be great, CHeers

Coil packs mate, get one of your mate's coil packs and chuck em on your car, 99% of the time its the coil packs.

I got 2 x 10 subs with a 600 boss amp. The subs are venom and bought from Jay Car. Pump out good bass. They are in a professional made box all carpeted etc. Puts out really nice sound, asking $100 pick up from canberra

It's the battery mate, get a jumper cable and get someone to help you out, or buy a new battery. Your alternator could be f#$ked as it might not be charging the battery whilst driving.

Ok, thanks for the advice. I've heard from around these forums that the Jim Berry Full Monty clutch is the best way to go? ANyway, the rattle happens when the car is in neutral and stationary. It happens when the clutch is out, but then the rattle comes and goes as it pleases, if you give the car a rev, the rattle disappears, then comes back after like 15 seconds....

Hi fellas, My clutch shat itself (It was a Jim Berry Full Monty clutch), so I sent my clutch and flywheel back to Jim, in exchange for a reconditioned used clutch and flywheel, paying him $550. Now, I just have a few concerns which you fellas might be able to give me a hand with. 1) When I sent the clutch and flywheels to Jim, it wieghed 16.5 kg, when I received the reconditioned flywheel and clutch back, it weighed in at 19kg?? Just wondering why the increased wieght, it's not that much more, but in terms of % increase it is? COuld jim have given me a different flywheel? 2) I took it to a shop here in canberra for the clutch and flywheels to get installed, when I picked up the car, I noticed a loud rattling sound coming from the clutch. I asked the mechanic what the deal is with the sound, he said it was my power steering, however, I could clearly hear it was coming from the tranny somewhere.... Now I don't know what to do, should I give Jim Berry a call and ask him what it might be, or get the mechanic to fix his possible poor installation? I have a R33 S2 GTS-T. THis car is an endless pit, soo much time and money invested into the thing only to give me more head aches. ANyway fellas, any help would be appreciated. Have a great w/e, cheers.
