  1. I have followed this thread before making my mind up on a pair of turbos to go on a RB28. I have back to back results on same car/dyno with -5 (with HKS 2530 turbine housing) and GTX2863 (Machined -5 front housing with HKS2530 turbine housing).

Unfortunately there is a problem with boost drop at high rpm (which I believe has nothing to do with turbos) which does hide true potential but GTX turbos makes more power on lower boost than the -5 as one would expect.

I would like to see GTX2867 results either on a 26 or 28. Has anyone done that?

  2. Thanks very much and will do.

    :D

Thanks for hose kit. Good quality product and fast delivery

Do you have a kit to cover heater\air hoses for R33 RB25DET? if so how much to ship to Auckland, NZ?

Looking at above list ASHK148 seems to be what i need. but on your website it states that ther are only 4 pieces... could you confirm how many pieces are actualy in ASHK148 kit?

    ASHK148-RADIATOR HEATER HOSE KIT - R33 GTST(T) - R34 GT(T) - AU$130.00 shipped - Addtocart.gif

    -15pcs

-Available in red, blue or black

    Many Thanks

  3. no they are no use on a 33. the upper control arms front and rear are different to a 32.

however...these would be an excellent buy for a 32 that needs better handling. they were an extremely expensive set when new

    Thanks Duncan

I was kinda hoping they will fit – NISMO bits on my car is always welcome

Dead right about the value of them and he seems to be asking fair price too – good buy for some one with a R32

    Cheers

  4. <H1 style="MARGIN-TOP: 0px; DISPLAY: inline; FONT-WEIGHT: bold; FONT-SIZE: 12pt">I tried searching and miserable failed getting any results for what I wanted to find out. And it looks like I need to find the answer soon as auction finishes next week

I am lowering my R33 GTR and have been told that I need adjustable upper control arms to address uneven tier wear out.

For my luck (?) a set of Nismo Link Arms for R32 GTR showed up on local Ebay

Now what I would like to find out is if R32 Link Arm set(or whats in this auction) direct fit R33 GTR?

Here is a link to auction

Any one knows about their suspensions and bits? Any help/suggestions will be much appreciated

  5. no matter how good the wiring is, someone can bring their own alarm box & remote along and start your car and drive off

this is very true, at least with Mongoose M80.

i had one on my GTR and was on my own carport and some f(ck steal it. no broken glass, no access to tow truck, etc...

sorry not to put you off but i wont trust a Mongoose M80 again

PS : i know my post is not much of help to your thread :D

  6. First one is that they say the 'Exhaust waste gate to be quiet and flow off value to remain quiet' - I asked how can be achieved and I was told to get a STANDARD STOCK AIR BOX AND FILTER to replace the one there is there now. any help in suggestions where I might get this as I have been told by auto parts people - really hard to get.

i am puzzled - how can you achive quiter "exhaust waste gate" by replacing "standard stock air box"? if you have a pod filter type intake it may make a noise...but to get a yellow sticker? i dont think so

do you have a BOV(blow off valve) in your car? if thats loud then you need to replace it with a quiter bov\put back factory recirculating valve.

thats what i understood, i might be talking rubbish - correct me if i am wrong

  7. Not very new to the forum – joined some time back but wasn't very active :D since I have asked couple of questions here and given that I have had helpful answers from all of you, I figured "Hello all" is indeed due!!

My name is emil and I am from Auckland, NZ. I have had my fair share of skylines – funny that I am on my fifth R33

Me and my affair with skylines

My first skyline was a GTS 4 25DE 4wd manual version which I bought end of 2002. Soooooo wanted to drop a RB26 in to it but then been a student and all it was just a dream. Wasn't the fastest skyline but it kept me happy. No wonder I never felt bad when it came to fill up petrol.

Moved on to a GTS + T manual it was all good fun and the chap who had it before me must have been a fan of STICKERS lol it had all performance stickers – every damn traffic light people(lets say almost every honda civic, subaru, what not..) want to race with me and revvvvv their engines – only I knew it was running low boost and all that, I was doing the cool "slow rolling"

Upgraded to an awesome R33 GTST Manual. I was the first owner in NZ – car dealer showed me pictures when they were bidding for it in Japan auctions- first sight love it was. It was just fun from the day one. I still remember - couldn't wipe big grin off my face, it was fixed for couple of weeks :D . Had it close to two years. Started moding it slowly to a decent 210rwkw on stock turbo. Oh man, what a mission to find a Power FC for 25DET, all part of the fun

    10323_0b.jpg

I always wanted a Series 3 midnight purple GTR ( but couldn't afford) and then when I saw a midnight purple series 3 GTR V spec  – xenon light, red stitching, V spec well all I could think of was it – day in and out. Couldn't make up my mind if I am to upgrade turbo/ injectors or go for a GTR. And the decision was in favor of R. What a heart aching decision it turned out to be

    P8090463.JPG

And there goes my so loved GTST for sale. Was on local Gbay (TradeMe) for three weeks and car was gone and I was the happy owner of 97 Midnight purple V spec GTR :P What else could you ask. All I did was changing oil, cleaning and polishing car for 37 days I had it

Yeah, thats right, 37 days....Some f(cking c(nt steal it from my own car port  . I was so gutted. Didn't drive for 4 month, didn't even want to buy another car. It was just f(uking horrible. You know when you dream of it for such a long time and you finally get it – and then lose it the next minute, I was well pissed off with my self….let alone the f(ucker who steal it.

What next you may ask… well I went and bought another skyline, and yes another GTR  . a PINK GTR

    P1011078.JPG

Had it over a month now, still getting to know the car. Stock standard engine with so much bling bling, all show no go at the mo. But looking forward to coming months for starting the quest – oh that power hunger that we all have

Hello all :D and bear with me for all those silly questions I will be asking\posting from now on

PS : Turned out to be a very long hello, must be the  …. But yeah, now you know me and my skylines

    More pictures are here http://destinationnzi.com/staging

  8. It should go a long way below 0 at idle. Youve definatly got a split hose there, and at idle its sucking air in the split, lowering the pressure signal at the gauge's map sensor.

    apologies for hijacking your thread

replaced the vacume hose from plenum to black box\sender

still needle stays just below 0

It should go a long way below 0 at idle - it sits at 0 even with out idleing/engine start - just key turned to ACC

    faulty boost gauge/ sender ?

thanks for your input - i will try swapping cluster with another.

  9. if you found the map sensor up under the edge of the inner guard, next to the brake booster... disconnect the hose from it and start the car. at idle it should pull a vacuum that you can feel on the end of the hose. If the vacuum is there... sensor/wiring issue. If there is no vacuum trace the hose back and see where its broken or split.

Infact check it anyway... Its seems that hose from factory was never good quality. If it were nobody else would have had this problem!

    Thanks for the reply

will check hose and replace it just to be sure, i think it is avail at repco/ super cheap auto

was puzled why needle goes to just below zero when key is on ACC? is that normal? even without engine running? couldnt remeber that happening on my gtst...

    thanks again :D

  10. This happened to me only a couple weeks ago. It was a cheap $2.50 fix for new hose.

    Sorry for bump

i have the same problem - i must be retarted :) after hour and half i still cant find where i have to plug the hose on plenum's end.

boost gauge sits just below 0 as soon as i turn key on to ACC, when started car boost up fine, can feel it, hear turbos spooling up, but gauge doesnt move.

after searching through found this thread and sure enough - hose that goes to boost gauge was just hanging from plenums end :)

any help ? picture will be best :D

    cheers

  11. ok, i went to the effort of reading all 15 pages (and i'm a slow reader!) and i didn't find an answer to my question. i took my car to the garage the other day and asked about the whole o2 thing as i'm getting bollocks economy. anyhoo, the guy turned off the o2 sensor from my power fc to see if the economy improves. does this make sense? i wouldn't have thought the economy would go any better just because the sensors are turned off but i'm going to run through a tank first to see how it goes - so far looks the same though. this is a 32gtr btw. cheers guys - sorry to make this thread even longer!

Thats spot on mate, what the guy did is correct. when my gtst's O2 sensor gave up my tuning guy turned it off from Power Fc. it did more K/tank with O2 sensor off, best way to isolate the issue. i wish my new R33 had a apower FC :) well..

  12. That's terrible fuel efficiency. My Stagea 260RS has the same engine as yours, but lugs around an extra 200kg and I was getting 300-400km out of the tank before fitting the O2 sensors. So far, since fitting the sensors I've got 240km out of half a tank (half highway cruising, half mountain roads with the occasional flogging). Maybe something else is wrong. I'd suggest doing a fault code check or plugging COnsult into it (if you don't have Consult see if someone on the forum near you could lend it to you). THe number for GLobal EFI is 0755310055. There's a also a group-buy on O2 sensors going at the moment. I can't confirm if the group-buy sensors are identical to the ones sent to me from Global.

Thanks. i will take it to a place where they have Nissan consult to do a scan then, it might as well be. i had it only for two weeks and filled up two tanks already :) i had my 210rwkw gtst and it was doing good 350 - 370 per tank and thats with flooring on first second and third ;)

please do post(i know you will ) what you will get this time for a full tank.

    cheers

  13. I haven't seen a website or mail order (it would be nice). I just rang them. They are easy to deal with over the phone

Update on results: the idle problem still seems to be happening (prob unrelated). I took the car camping on the weeken up Mt Tamborine, which involved both highway driving and mountain roads (and occasional flogging). So far I got 240km out of half a tank. I think that's the best we've ever got. If I get more than 400km out of the tank, then I'll know the O2 sensors have made an improvement.

    Hi Boosted Barge

i am really keen to know if this has indeed improve mileage. i have a R33 GTR and for a full tank it only does 200 - 220 km with driving OFF boost. i tried to google Global EFI and didnt get related results, whats their tel #?

with this price i dont mind trying it out even if they dont work with GTR RB26DETT

    Cheers
