Cool thanks for clarifying, my next question is; when i go and get a RWC do they need to do a full standard inspection? like tyres, windscreen wipers etc or do i just tell them about the defect get them to check it and write it on the certificate? I got quote $100 bucks for it

How about this part on Vicroads website I dont have a defect sticker do i still need to take my car in for inspection?
-
Hey guys, am a bit confused what to do here, most of the stuff are back to stock the only thing is my muffler still looking for a stock muffler. I check on vicroad web site and this is what they state; I have not recived a letter from the EPA and i dont have a defect sticker on my windscreen?? How do I clear a Victorian defect notice? The defect notice will specify what you need to do to clear the defect notice. One of three types of requirement will be stated on the notice: Self Clearance - You are responsible for repairing defects mentioned in the defect notice and you must sign Section 8 of the Defect Notice once the defects have been repaired. You will also need to forward the "blue" copy of the Defect Notice to VicRoads. Clearance by VicRoads - You do not need to obtain a Certificate of Roadworthiness. However, you must present the vehicle for inspection to a VicRoads Customer Service Centre to ensure that the defects are rectified and the Defect Notice is removed. No appointment is necessary. Certificate of Roadworthiness must be obtained - You must present a Certificate of Roadworthiness obtained in respect of the vehicle, dated after the date of issue of the Defect Notice, at a VicRoads office. You must not remove the defect label. If the label is present, the vehicle must be presented at a VicRoads Customer Service Centre for removal. If the label is not present, ie where the windscreen was replaced or where a label was not attached, the vehicle does not have to be presented. Defect notices issued by the EPA cannot be removed by VicRoads. The defect notice will state where to go to get the defect notice removed.

Well i still dont really understand. The cop gave me until the 25th of feb to clear the defect. If epa letter arrives in 1-2 weeks that means my car is not drivable????
-
Yes it was an on the spot fine/notice plus i only have until 25th of feb to clear the defect.

Well guys i failed the test it around 100db @ 5k rpm. The guy said he couldn't give me a epa cert, since i've dont have a epa letter. So i need to borrow a stock r33 s2 muffler if anyone has one that i can borrow for a week or so i would appreciated.
-
There's no report nor epa letter just a " u change your exhaust system that's illegal" The only thing i've change the the muffler the exhaust system is still stock. Anyway i'm getting the exhaust test today at 10:30

Im sure the fine is not just for the bov, it written on the defect paper both for BOV and loud exhaust, he never even asked me to rev the motor, my car was on idle when he decided to say that the exhaust is too loud.
-
On my way back to the office yesterday on Chesterville rd, there was just 2 cops random breath test. I pass the breath test but the cop decided to ask me to pop the bonnet I got done for having a BOV later he also decided to fine me with the exhaust without even testing to see if it is over the legal limit. Are they allowed to fine you for this? without asking you to go and get it tested?
