  6. ^^ thanks bud, i like to be diff lol clutchburndout, if that was sarcastic i missed it......no dig intended. I happen to love r31's. If u dont like them not my problem, at the end of the day yes its still a 31, but i do things to prove to myself that i can do it and not be part of the "in" crowd to do a conversion that a million ppl have done before. As far as i know im the first person in australia to have done this to a 31....that means something to ME. I have my weekend toy with a 25 in it now, that i grew up as a 9yo boy driving around my paddock n since then i have loved them.........each to their own, thats wat makes us individuals i guess
  7. heres mine, just finished it after 2 months of starting it lol
  8. LS1R31 Full exhaust, Maffless tune n edit, 245rwkw Mainline dyno

  11. Hey guys. Got 2 R31's this is my track car build. Long story short Built a R31 with a 25DET in it, people said i was nuts to trash it on the track cos its neat, so i got it engineered instead also has JIC coilovers all round So then i wanted something different instead of a 25 or 26 so went LS1. Nothing to hard, got the car in October finished it in december lol. Did the engine mounts n gearbox xmember myself fitted all the gear to basically get it there, suspension n brakes. Wanted to get it done for a jaustech private day on december 23rd. unfortunately it didnt make it due to a faulkty relay but we didnt pick it up. Anthony from jaustech had it wired n running in a day lol. So yeh, this is my 2 month build Photodump lol Made 245atw on a mainline. Mafless tune n edit, full exhaust with 2 3/4 with a canon on the back lol There ya go, a few pics of the build.......Enjoy
  12. BAHAHAHAHAHA . Pretty much hey. But in saying that, in both my 31's that ive done, have only ever found rust under battery tray for obvious reasons and behind quater panel where the front window valley drains. So not that bad for 22 year old cars..
  13. haha, it my first smash car, drift lol, so no doubt the rust will be the last of my worries once she starts being a regular track hack But yeh, if it lasts me a year with no damge......or i cant resist the temptation (which i know will come first lol) i will pull the motor out one weekend n paint it up
  14. Thanks guys. Yeh im the kind of guy that has a thought, does it, n then thinks lol. Hence the 31 in the background, engineered with a 25det n coilies all round. Did all the fab work myself, engine mounts, gb xmember. Then sent for it to get wired up. All up was 17k. Thats with HD clutch, brake upgrade custom 3" tailshaft, seat the works. Could have done it cheaper but didnt want to skimp on the important things lol. Doesnt look Hektic, but im not out to impress, just to be different. Was gonna supercharge it, but ile learn how to drive it NA b4 i force it haha Now just have to wait to drive it on a track lol.....
  15. Hmm, crap thread but i will post this seeing as its relevant, my drift car i just finished 245kw atw. Pretty standard for an LS1 n spins its tits of in second without no hesitation
  16. If it wasnt so far away ide bring my LS1R31 just for shits n giggles. Isnt she building an ls1 drag car now aswell?? Thats kind of muscle....
  17. Thread revive.......Im currently doing this now for drift. also you can get it engineered, already looked into it :-)
  18. If the sale doesnt go through, ile take them :-)
  19. This sucks .......... will keep a look out. Hope it comes back
  20. Have you put the little copper washers back in??
  21. Would you seperate the front and rear brakes? If so, how much would you want for the front?
  22. LOL. Ive lived here for the past 14yrs n never had a problem.......then again i never go into actual Gawler anymore as i hate it haha. Back on topic, any fresh updates with this?
  23. Hey all, Well....ive had this car for 13 years, it was my parents car before that and they bought it in 1989. So it has been in the family for 21 years. It started as a track car project but then i realsied that i loved it to much to put it into a wall lol . So after that idea was scrapped i thought i will do it properly for a toy street car. It started life as a 30 auto. In March 2007 i bought a RB25DET 5 speed half cut and put that in. It was fitted and wired up for starting. But then had a few life issues and lost interest and it sat idle for 2 years. So in June 2009 i got off my butt and started on it again so i could get it engineered and roadworthy. So for 6 months i have been working on it on the weekends with the help of a mate, who is very handy and doesnt like stopping things half way through, which is good lol Pretty much got brand new everything from bushes to bolts. What ever i took out i either replaced brand new or if i couldnt find it, painted it and made it look brand new. Really makes a diiference when you look closely So yeh as sits now it has been engineered with a RB25DET, 5 speed box, fmic, pod, strutbrace adjustable panhard rod. Ile post up a few pics, have a look and see what you think. Cheers, Mark Before i attacked it lol The removal of the old engine may 2007, that had about 400k on it. Still started first time until that day Installing of the 33det brakes and s13 coilovers which have now been changed to new jic's all round
  24. This is very upsetting. It is a shame that we cant have anything nice anymore with out people respecting it. I also live in Gawler, but all suburbs have their scum and "heroes" unfotunately!
