  2. Ok I have a few simple q's here.

At the moment I have an its Turbo wich makes good power (approx 230rwkws) but my god its a laggy beast.  I get the kick in the back at 4500rpm and dont get full boost 16 psi till 6k

I want to still be able to achieve this power level but I would like some little mid range back.

The HKS GTRS seems to be the way I am leaning towards.

How laggy are these on the RB20?

And I have heard they are good for max 250rwkws?

Is there anything else I would need to know about it?

My current mods are:- RX7 550cc injector, Blitz FMIC, bosch 040 fuel pump, Z32 afm, Remapped ecu, Oil catch can, etc so supporting this sorta power is fine.

    Thanx guys. :P

Probably still a little laggy on a RB20 better suited to a RB25. The HKS GTSS and HKS 2530 are a good match for the RB20 a cam gear or a set of cams will help to

    cheers

  3. Ran the Skyline down the quarter for the first time on Saturday. Had about 9 runs best I could manage was a 13.6. Had a lot of trouble getting of the line with 235 Hankook Ventus sport K104 tyres.

With better tyres and a 2.0 or better 60 ft time low 13's to high 12's may be possible.

    cheers

I was in the right lane

  4. I got that Nengun deal a while back.

    Very happy with it.

    It's currently $4250 delivered, plus tax/duty of course :O

I think the 260-270rwkw with stock motor and GT-RS is more the exception than the rule though, and you'd need cams to get that power figure. I'd say 240-250 is more likely from what i've read and seen. They CAN put out up to 300rwkw - but if you are expecting to get 260 out of one you should prepare to possibly be a little disappointed.

For 270ish i'd go the 2835ProS; it seems to be reliably making this sort of power. If you want HKS badge, that is.

And to be fair with the GCG Hiflows - a lot of people only get 230-240rwkw with those aswell. Sure some are getting 260, but i wouldn't say it's a guaranteed figure. Maybe they have cams aswell?

IMO the GCG Hiflow and the GTRS are pretty similar in response and peak power. i did a LOT of reading and enquiring around this topic not so long ago. The GTRS possibly has more in it at higher boost (18-19psi) but i only run mine at 15psi, which seems to be what most of the hiflow guys run at, for what it's worth.

The 2835ProS is a slight step up again; bit more lag, bit more top end.

    Hope that helps a little.

What power figure did you make?

  5. Your saying your car is stock you will need a full 3" exhaust from turbo back. Intercooler hybrid would be fine look in group buy section they have cheep kits. As for the turbo I agree with the others HI-flo is probably your best bet bolts staight back in place no mucking arround with oil/water lines. But I think this kit from www.nengun.com is good value too.

    from nengun site

New version HKS GT-RS turbine kit 400PS with a HKS Actuator, Oil lines gaskets, New 740cc Nismo injectors, New format Apexi Power FC and Handcomander to suit a Nissan Nissan R33 GTS t

The HKS GT-RS Turbine. This Kit comes with everything for a straight bolt on to the existing Flange. Parts included are the HKS heavy duty actuator, oil lines, gaskets and bolts.

    $4258 delivered.

You will also need a bigger fuel pump (Boch 044)

    z32 airflow meter

    fuel pressure reg

    boost control

from what I have learnt on these forums I estimate

GTR-S turbo should make 260-270, 270-290 with cams

GCG highflow should make 240-250, 260-270 with cams

    cheers

  6. Oh and as for the supra... Are u kidding....

    Good comparison for ya....

I bought the current R33 S2 for the same amount as a mate got his 96 model 6 speed...

We have both spent the same amount of mods... (With in a grand anyway) and i have him by 0.8 of a second down the quarter.... With him driving my car and vice verser the skyline beat the supra by 0.7 second...

So we are both similar drivers... Just shows supras are more expensive to open up...

Interesting to hear you say that mate as I have had the same experience with supras. What mods do you have?

  7. After watching shows such as the fast and the furious, during the main race you see the green eclipse has a indash monitor which shows danger to manifold and engine readouts

now i have a indash monitor and i wondered how hard it would be to get software or something to show stats on the screen such as fuel, speed, rpm's etc.

i already have an apexi rsm which does all this , but using a colour monitor im thinkin i could go one step better, has anyone done this yet or know anything about it

    thanks

Yep got to watch for danger to your intake manifold it causes your passenger side floor to fall out :P .

34 GTR has a indash monitor for injectors, boost, g-forces ect.

    cheers
