Yeah that and elbow grease i suppose. I did notice that they're quite tense - as i was pulling out the spanner (with something to wedge it out) after i took off the boot off it i had to watch out i didn't end up with a flying spanner in my face. Joy. Thanks for the tip!

Anyone got an idea on how to do this? I'm wrecking my car and want these out but they're really really hard. I did manage to get it off one of the boot hinges by jamming the open end of a spanner on the torsion bar end and the ring end jammed somewhere to hold it in place whilst i pulled it off the boot hinge, but even now that that's removed, i'm still at a loss to how i might remove them. Anyone out there done this before? I'd appreciate any help, thanks!

I've got the one on the driver's side in good condition if you want that - the one on the passenger side I've got too but it's cracked
