  1. I have been having real dramas trying to get my emu working, to the point I gave up on it, as with it fitted the car was running as rough as hell, or wouldn't run at all. This week I have found out that the AAC valve was choked up with crap and the TPS is faulty. Is it feasible that this could have caused my emu problems, working on the thought that the emu is more sensitive than the stock ecu and with a faulty sensor it could have been conflicting with the ecu?
  2. Seems to be reading OK. Did a datalog when it was running OK yesterday from warm and was reading between 79-81 degrees on the datalog. Jumpers are still set to factory default.
  3. Quick update Trent Got sent a map from one of the guys on the SOC forum and tried it last night and the car ran perfectly. Came to the car this morning and running rough as hell again, with a definate smell of petrol until the engine died. Reconnected the stock ecu and ran fine. Drove the car 25 miles to work no problem. At work reconnected the emu and now the car won't even start. Is this starting to indicate a potential problem with the emu hardware? Harness should be OK, as it is a genuine Greddy N4 harness. Totally lost what to do next other than chuck the lot in the bloody bin and give up!
  4. Based in England i'm afraid, but don't hold that against me
  5. Good question I bought it from another Skyline owner. It is brand new, box still sealed etc, but I don't know when he purchased it or from where. He sold it on because he went for an ecu remap instead.
  6. The serial no (If it is the small sticker on the back of the unit) is GSCII 05144 and the board is a D version
  7. Uras Have you got advice with regard to a "snagging list" to resolve my problem with the EMU? I would put money on it that it is something simple/obvious, but after hours working on it all objectivity has been lost apart from an irrational hatred of the damn thing. It looks like the easiest thing in the world to fit, which is why it is so bloody frustrating!
  8. Very strange that some people manage to install these things with no problems and others have a nightmare. Would be useful if the ones who have had problems and resolved them could put together cause and solution table. Would help with problem solving without a doubt.
  9. Still getting nowhere fast with my EMU install. Reset the jumpers to factory default and upgraded firmware to version 2.16. Wire swap done for crank/cam angle and rewired to select water temp and knock 2. Have selected RB25DET from parameter settings, started car but no better. Engine running very rough, feels like it is misfiring very badly. Any suggestions as to what could be wrong? Put stock ecu back and car runs fine again, so must be EMU related.
  10. Ah right, I'd left jumper 8 at 5v as it is a series 1 gts-t with external amplifier. Should it be 12v then?
  11. No, only got the original firmware (1.09 I think). Will upgrade and see if it helps. Also I changed jumper 13 to closed on pins 1-2 to select water temp instead of knock 2. Is this the correct setting?
  12. Hello, noobie from the UK here. First, just like to say what an excellent forum this is, excellent resource of information. Hopefully you can help with an EMU issue, as there is little in the UK on the EMU. Following on from this thread, I have bought an EMU for my spec 1 R33 GTS-T, which I have fitted today. I had some help from a guy in the UK on this, but having fitted it the car is running like crap, struggling to start, misfiring, erratic idle, etc. The car is almost standard (at the moment), with just a Blitz front pipe, cat back, and sonic induction kit. I have used the N4 specific harness. I have made the wire swap for the cam/crank angle and also swapped the purple/yellow knock sensor wire to the redundant purple/yellow connector as I have been advised. The car has been set-up on the initial parameter settings below: Can anyone see what I have made a complete balls of or have any suggestions? Put the car back to stock and it runs fine, so must be something within the EMU setup
