  1. Yep as soon as ive cut and edited the video i will post a linkey poo, just for you Ken, seeing as you would probably be the only person who doesnt believe me. I dont doubt you really. Going from driving a shitty beat up colt to having a friend who let me drive the R35 is a heck of a change, wouldnt you say?

Yeah youre right Adam. Im happy for you.

Let that be a lesson boys and girls... If you want something and cant get it, find someone who does and use it! Dont steal.

Now where is Part 4?? Im dying here....

  2. With traffic and buildings becoming denser by the minute, i feel i just have to have another crack at the engine before we get boxed in. The road clears ahead of me, i wind the window down to hear the sound of the exhaust and engine - the air outside is chilled and crisp. I change down again into 3rd gear this time mashing the pedal to the floor, the GTR willingly, effortlessly, gets up and bolts ahead, blurring the scenery. Like a drug, the sheer speed that you can extract from the GTR will just have you coming back for more. I shoot into a tunnel- the exhaust note reverberates off the tunnel walls and as the revs pick up to a raucous rasping growl, 4th, 5th and 6th its Fast, too fast, have to back off.

    Looks like an interesting story if proven real. I just wonder how many of you guys would rev & drive a brand new car through its gears given that;

    (a) its not your car

    (b) you wouldnt even afford to pay the excess should you hit something

© realizing that its somewhat rude and immature to do so

Before getting my car, I wouldnt even accept a good friends offer to drive his M6 for the 3 months of his licence suspension. Would have been great ofcorse, but common sense comes into play.

Again, looks like a good read, if all is true.

  3. If you get the chance you should make it down to the appropriately named "skyline road" which is in the Suzuka mountain range... an awesome drift spot because you get all the Suzuka guys coming with their hardcore tuned cars.. they take it seriously round there!!

    Hakkone Skyliner or Skyline turnpike?

Is that near Hakkone? If so, Ive driven on that route. Excellent road, almost like a race track at times. Only complain is the toll I had to pay every few minutes!

  4. Somebody get this guy his own blog

Since your life has improved 100 fold, how about improving your personality just 2 fold? :D

    Btw, Im one of the ones who referred you as a LBH because of 2 reasons;

1.You were referred to me as a LBH and the title stuck.

    2.You are one.

  5. Haha Thats not me.. good detective work.. that was an old mate.. I lived in Shiga-Ken about 40 min out of Kyoto.. Its kind of country but i really wanted to experience that side of Japan, plus i couldnt afford the bloody parking in the cities!

I still attribute my accelerated weight gain to the price of fruit in Japan... it had nothing to do with the non-existant exercise, the over-consumption of alcahol/sukiya/yoshinoya and the fact that i drove everywhere...

Think you were very lucky to be with your brother. I would have loved to have your experience.

Looking at your post, sounds like a great journey and you managed to bring the 2 cars (babies) home for memory is great. Also love your shots. Some of them look like the ones out of the montly GTR Magazine. Again, what camera were you using??

  6. HEhe... interesting.

I saw a GT-R a my local 7-11 today, it was pretty big in the carpark and the guy bought bread. The 3 slice loaf. I guess he just liked wide things. I tried to give him my business card but he said he had left his business cards in his other pants so he couldn't give me one.

Then he drove off and scraped the front spoiler and ran a red light...

    ROTFL :laughing-smiley-014:

That reminds me, I saw this guy on the expressway heading out to Yokohama. We stopped at Daikoku futo and I bought him a can coffee. He gave me his cell, home and work numbers. Told me I could drive it anytime I wanted and if I liked, I could sleep with his mrs too.

  7. Interesting if guys like him are buying them. This is Porsche's target demographic and here he is driving a GTR. Well done Nissan I guess.

Think most GTRs are owned by older men. I know of one 60+ year old who owned a bayside Vpec2 then traded it in for the same model in Nur Spec and is now waiting for his 35. Another is probably due to its pricing especially the 35. Interestingly, for this model, if someone wanted a loan, they require a min of 40% down payment. Dont think this was the case with other line ups. Another example of its popularity, a friend of mine whose husband works at Nissan could get me 20% off the price of a V35 Skyline or any Nissan but not the GTR. :glare:

  8. Maybe Im used to the setup in JP these days.

Maybe some of the guys who have been here and seen the usual setup of workshops will agree with me.

Considering how much the car is, what your outlook is about the car, dont you think for it to be taken apart in what looks like a shed, a little sad??

Im not saying that paintshop or JustJap is somehow cheap, just kinda an unfitting end/renewal to a car hardly 1,000kms old.

I mean just look at whats holding this 'GOD' of Nissan... a freakin old wooden block...

Anyway, no need to agree with me. Just think about it..

  9. Please dont take offence to this, its nothing personal but those pics make me sad. ;)

To think the car came from a multi-million dollar state of the art assembly line, worked on by highly trained people only a few weeks prior

    to this...

    paint1.jpg

Will be good to see it at the Targa but just wished it was worked on in a workshop/paintshop more like the race teams.

Again, no offence just stating an opinion.. Goodluck in the Targa.

  10. I just got my plates!! Freaking hard to get custom ones here in Jp. Basicly you get the usual plates. If you want a special number, you pay a small premium but the hard thing is its a lucky draw or need to know someone. I applied for a single digit plate which as you can imagine is so difficult to get because there isnt alot left. Today got the call from the dealer and he got me my plates! :)

For those who are interested, the plates here actually explain a number of things about the vehicle.

    Intesting read: http://www.answers.com/topic/japanese-license-plates

In Tokyo, the plates to have are Shinagawa (品川) Any other plates dont cut it. Cars registered with these plates are regarded as educated or richer residents in the Tokyo area. Adachi (足立) plates are looked down upon. If you look at the two plates below, you can guess who is in the better area and one got lucky with the - - 35 number. Most luxury or connected people have plates with 8 on them only. If you see any black Mercs that have 8 on them, try not to piss off the driver :(

Anyway, just wanted to share that with you guys. Now when you see a car in JP, you can know alittle more about the owner.

  11. Got some of those today. Too expensive but i impulse bought R33 and GTR ones. Oh well.

You might have been there at the same time as I was. Saw a couple of Aussies wondering whether to buy R33 or GT-R. :D

  12. Do you guys have pics of the ones from TAS?

Yep definatly interested in a set :)

    Here you are.

Think they were $60 for 2.

More expensive than the genuine custom plates Im waiting for but much much easier to get! ;)
