ebay man lots of kits, do it once do it right get samco
could you direct me to a somco rb26 complete hose kit?
-
that the point iwas trying to get at
if the end user was say happy with 450 hp
would there be any merit changing to forged?
-
hey,
when it comes to rebuild time does every go straight for forged internals or stay with the nissan pistons if there capable of handling what you need out of the engine?
any pro cons for either?
or does every one just go forged?
-
ok
rb26
tomei sump baffle
1.5 oil restrictor front rear blocked
and nothing else
yes or no?
-
Tomei sump baffles still avail?
-
Hey Jase, if you're not going over the top then a stock head gasket is pretty good. I have some HKS metal inlet gaskets you can have if you like- they're used but in good nick. I'm also rebuilding a 26 at the mo so if you want to come and have a squiz give us a yell.
Block restrictor a good idea. Your friend going to help check clearances?
Also, are you using stock turbos? Porting the stock manifolds and turbo housings is a good idea while you've got the opportunity.
Happy to get together and chat if you like.
Hey mate how you been?
My mate will be doing all the work ill just be helping helping and learing where i can
I have 2860’s with stainless mani’s
Is it possible to use a restrictor with a stock oil pump or will I need to do all the other jazz also?

hi ,
for a street driven forged internal (spool rods & pistons)32gtr with a normal oil pump with a crank collar
that does not see much anger at all
would an oil restrictor be necessary at all?

Looking for the right part choices for my up comming rebuild
im going for the standard rebuild and will go for this kit
It includes
- Engine Repair Gasket Kit
- Genuine Nissan Parts
Kit Contents:
- 1 x Tube Liquid Cement Sealer
- 1 x Sump Washer
- 1 x Head Gaskets
- 3 x O-Ring Vacuum Canister
- 2 x O-Ring Vacuum Canister
- 4 x O-Ring Vacuum Canister
- 1 x Crank Rear Oil Seal
- 2 x Cam Seals
- 12 x Valve Stem Seals (Exhaust)
- 12 x Valve Stem Seals (Intake)
- 1 x Rocker Cover Gasket (Exhaust)
- 1 x Rocker Cover Gasket (Intake)
- 1 x Front Crank Seal
- 1 x Intake Manifold Gasket
- 2 x Exhaust Manifold Gaskets
- 2 x Turbo Inlet Gaskets
- 2 x Turbo 4-Bolt Gaskets
- 2 x Dump Pipe Gaskets
- 3 x Turbo Inlet Gaskets
- 1 x Oil Filter Gasket
- 1 x Oil Pump Gasket
- 22 x Banjo Bolt Brass Gaskets
- 1 x Oil Drain Gasket
- 2 x Brass Turbo Oil Inlet Gaskets
- 1 x Oil Filter Housing to Block Gasket
- 1 IAC Valve Gasket
- 6 x Throttle Body Gaskets
- 1 x Cam Angle Sensor Oil Ring
- 1 x Water Temp Sensor Gasket
- 1 x AAC Valve Gasket
...........................................
I would substitute the nissan head gasket with a cometic or similar
And some of those metal t/b gaskets
and will get ACL bearings
Now i want a crank collar for obvious reasons but i will need a 33gtr oil pump to do this right (i have a 32gtr)
Ill be using standard pistons & rods if they are still ok
and will be cleaning up the head
Ill be having a very experienced friend doing this with me doing the smaller things like cleaning parts etc
may get a baffle but cant really see the benefit with my drivng style
Any other bits to order that i may have missed?
Thanks

hi
just an odd question
why do engines sound like there going to explode when the idle is really low?
like rattle low end knock noise?
ive seen many cars make this noise
is the piston slapping around in there due to low revs?
-
the work shop manual has every thing
apart from the tourqe specs for the flywheel bolts wtf?!
