Oh, just a little shop in Moonah. Heard nothin but good reports from people who have had their cars tuned there. Only issue is he has to learn the software for my ECU, but he downloading it and sorting that so he has a feel for it before I get there. I even emailed him a copy of the tune currently in it so he has a good starting point.
-
Just booked mine in for the 8th Feb for a tune... Might have to catch up while I am down the pointy end of the state.

I just put similar stuff in mine. Who's setting up your suspension now? I just did a wheel alignment on mine after putting all new adjustable stuff in there and what a difference its made. Its actually drives out of corners now instead of wheel-spinning, which has the horrible effect of making it feel like its lost a heap of power. Cant wait to get down south and get it tuned now. Its running that rich at the moment that the brand new plugs lasted ll of 80 klm before they fouled... :-(

When was it bled and does this coincide with the warning light issue??? Its easy enough to bleed, if you know what your doing. If you dont, then its real easy to get it all wrong as well.

Could be a number of things. The reservoir in the RHR quarter, is it full? What size tyres are you running front and rear? Have you got a mix of new and old tyres? Could be a a sensor gone. Have you got a copy of the workshop manual? there are some good trouble shooting steps in there. Feel free to arrange a time to head over to Burnie if you want someone to have a look for you. Always happy to meet another GTR owner and help out if possible.

Be good to see you back up here. Heard from Jamie the other day who let me know he cant make it now... Pity, but at least I get a free shot at beatin his time now. lol (like thats ever gonna happen)

GTR is currently in the garage undergoing some minor upgrades. Turbos coming off to be replaced with a pair of new GT2860R -5's with some Tomei Expreme Dumps. ViPec ECU is in and was running well until I decided it was time for the turbos to go. New Castor arms up front, camber and traction arms in the rear. Camber arms for the front are currently being fabricated. While I am doing this figured I may as well throw in a new Gates timing belt kit along with an N1 Water Pump. (Yes it does see a lot of track work so its worth the extra) So, looking forward to the Highclere Hillclimb on Feb 13th. Should be a good shakedown for it all.

Priced up a cage for the GTR last week. Surprising how cheap a good bolt in CAMS Approved age is these days. Looked at something very similar to Jamies in his GTR and was only $1600 delivered.

Oh well... At least you were out there having a crack. Unlike that guy that turned up in his white GTR and then produced every excuse under the sun for not having a run... lol

Were you by chance down at Antonio's garage visiting one day while you were here??

Can anybody recommend a distributor that I can contact to purchase one of these ECU's from?? The distributor local to me is one that I wont go to for seperate reasons and being in TGassie makes it hard to shop around some. I am looking for somebody who can supply an ECU with a base tune already in it so we only need to fine tune it to my car. Would like to have this in a and running before christmas.

Hey Paul can you check your PM's please?? Cash sittin here waiting to go.
-
Was good that all you guys could make it up here for the hillclimb. Great day, awsome bunch of peeps to hang out with. Cant wait till Feb to do it all again.

Highclere isn't that hard on cars. Its all go except for one corner in the middle. Basky Hillclimb probably puts more strain on your car than Highclere ever will.
-
What clutch did you go with?? I just fitted an Xtreme Motorsports DSBMS Clutch Kit Had big shudder issues when first fitted but appear to have eased a bit. Reverse is a killer still though. Not sure but I think the fact its AWD doesn't help much, if you dump the clutch a bit harder it feels like the front diff is trying to climb out from under the car now. I have spoken with Xtreme about this and we are working on a solution. Be good to see how it copes come the Highclere Hillclimb next weekend.

I'd still like to know who said they were too tight to buy $50 tyres for their race car?? Cause if your directing that at me then your sadly mistaken... I have two sets of Dunlop semis at the moment. I was simply after another cheap set to see the year out... Unfortunately my car broke before they were required.
-
Who said anything about being to tight to buy second hand tyres? I ran second hand ones this year while chasing starting tyre pressures and the like. I also knew my alignment wasn't right but until I get some adjustable arms couldnt do anything about it so didnt want to trash new tyres. I was more than happy to travel down and buy these tyres once I knew what the tyres were. There are 3 different patterns available in the tarmac rally tyres made by Dunlop, I was unable to find any on the Dunlop site in the Semi range in that size.
-
You what?? Your rims are what size? If your already running 235 tyres on the rims you got then these will fit up just as good.

Did a clutch at Symmons on Sunday. Apparently you shouldn't be able to have it in gear, with the handbrake on and your foot off the clutch... :s Pulling the box out this week to see what was in it, how much damage has been done and what I need to buy to get it mobile again. Unfortunately this also means spending money I dont have so it will no doubt be off the road for a bit now cause I am not gonna just buy a cheap clutch and throw in to get it going, do it once, do it right.
-
Anyone??? Your kidding right?? I have been waiting and waiting for you to come back with the info you said you were getting. Been to Launnie twice since then, once for a club day. Your welcome to em Funz. I'll just buy brand new ones for next year, did a clutch in the GTR on Sunday anyway.

Whens the Basky Hillclimb?? God I love the fact that none of my car clubs send out newsletters or anything anymore. I would love to head down for another crack at that.
-
Hello??? Was keen to head through today and pick these up... Running out of chances now though.
-
How many have you got? Is that $200 for the lot? Exactly which Dunlops are they? When were they last used? Where have they been stored since then? Can you post up a pic showing the tread condition? I know it seems like a lot of questions but I looked at buying some not long back and when I saw them they were crap even though advertised as good usable tyres. Am very interested as I need some before the 8th of November when my next Club Day is scheduled.

Took the GTR out to Symmons today for a club day. Did a 1:07.72 on my first ever flying lap around the track. Managed to get down to a 1:05.03 by the middle of the afternoon before they closed proceedings. So, now gotta buy some new semi slicks as the second hand ones I bought are trashed after today. Also really need to invest in some new top arms front and rear as the excess camber didnt help much with tyre wear and made it track all over the place at speed.

Funny how what actually happened is so different to the story told back in the scrutineering bay... Unfortunately the rotor didnt come off that easy, as it backed over the ripple strip it hit the sump pretty hard which caused a decent oil leak. That was the only reason he pulled out of the last race.
