  1. Does anyone have one of these? Do you find it useful? Was it worth the money spent? Where did you get it from and for how much?
  2. www.webasto.com.au are who I got mine through on my R33, and they do all the factory holden / ford sunroofs in Perth. Give Kelvin a call @ Prestige Sunroofs in Myaree and he'll look after you. Before and after pictures of my sunroof: http://hate-tank.net/car/new%20pics/
  3. Ok .. Well, I've done a bit of research so far, and this is what I've found .. The guys @ The Pits seem to think as long as the light is white (not purple tinged/yellow/blue) it's ok. The Technical Department @ Welshpool have said its only ok as long as the kit has ADR approval. Speaking with Philips Lighting in Sydney (who are about a month away from releasing a kit in Australia) have said that the ADR basically states: Retro-fitting a halogen headlight with xenon globes requires that the headlights are self-levelling and self-cleaning. I'm trying to hunt down the ADR to confirm this, but whats interesting is that all the latest Euro cars with xenon don't seem to match this criteria. It appears that the BMWs *DO* self-level, but they aren't self-cleaning. So, it doesn't appear that they will be legal, but the chances of the pits picking you up on it are slim, and even if they do, the original halogen connections are a sinch to reconnect to put the old globes back in.
  4. I've just spoken with the Technical Department for Vehicle Examinations in Welshpool and have been advised that: 1. Changing Halogen to Xenon is acceptable, only if the Xenon kit complies with ADR (Australian Design Regulations) 2. They will not supply that in writing, because if the product complies WITH ADR, there is no need for you have it in writing. It was recommended that I contact places like Hella etc, who make Xenon kits and to discuss with them the situation, and because they are fully aware of the ADRs, they should be able to provide me with any further information. Later today I will contact Hella and possible Bosch, Panasonic and Phillips (all of whom I have seen have some part to play in the creation of Xenon kits, be it the Ballast or the Ignitor systems) and see what I can find out. Hicks, not all of us have disposable income to go out and purchase things we want/need at a drop of a hat. Xenon lights up the road so much better than Halogen lights, and as I enjoy night cruising, I feel that is it something that *I* need.
  5. cam: shut up riaz: I'm in for style, not for speed
  6. OH MY GOD For those that have NOT seen xenons in an R33, see if you can hook up with Chris (CC). Just went for a spin with him following me and then he took me for a drive, and OMFG!! It is totally amazing. My girlfriend is going to totally hate me now, because I need xenons. It's that simple.
  7. Give me a buzz on 0412 527 661 and we'll arrange something if thats ok?
  8. CC, any chance I could meet up with you tonight to check it out? I'm in East Perth but will be heading to Vic Park sometime in the evening ..
  9. yeah, that was one concern I had, so I'm going to do a bit of research in to it before I jump in to it. I live 2 minutes from the East Perth pits, so I'll probably drop by there and have a chat with them
  10. I'll make the necessary enquiries with the local authorities I'll explain the entire situation to them and see if I can get it in writing

  14. RedlineGTR: That link is NOT a link to the brand we would be purchasing (as said in my first post). I am not sure of the brand we're looking at, will find out ASAP and post a link to those.
  15. Just gauging interest on a group buy for HID (xenon) conversion kits. Evolution R sell them for $690 (installed) with a 1 year warranty. Depending on the numbers, we may be able to get a good discount. Is there any interest in these? Planning on doing the buy in about 6 - 8 months (It's a fair whack of cash). Jason. (these are NOT the kits we would be getting, but they have a fancy flash animation which shows the difference between halogen and xenon) http://www.sportsimportsltd.com/hidxenon.html

  17. fane: just waiting on the last 3 sets to arrive .. I've just spoken with the guy, and they *SHOULD* be here this week I will call him tomorrow and Friday and confirm when they've arrived.
