  1. Hmmm, well here is a dynograph of my RB20DET with a Disco Potato, .82 rear. Almost reaches 300HP. I used an adaptor purchased from Garrett to mate the T25/T28 flange to the T3. I am looking to change the rear housing to .64 for more response. This is 1 bar boost.
  2. For the people bagging out D2 coilovers have you used them before? I have a set of new D2's in my S13. They are perfectly fine. My brother had tein super streets in his Toyota Soarer, they were good also but from memory he paid $1800 and comparing them to the D2's there was no difference. If you are not taking your car to the track then you may want to look at Bilstein shocks and suitable springs to lower your car. In my opinion that would be a better street setup opposed to coil over suspension as they really are suited more so for the track. Alternatively if you are set on buying coil overs and want some piece of mind I suppose in terms of purchasing quality parts then HSD coilovers are known to be very good. Personally I wouldn't buy second hand unless you knew how old they were and how many k's they have travelled as there are so many buggered second hand coil overs in most imports. I suppose the same argument goes with people bagging out KKR turbos saying they are cheap chinese rubbish....yet the majority of people saying negative things have never used these parts.
  3. I recently had some braking issues and my master cylinder was faulty. I thought I had a full R32 GTST M-spec brake conversion on my S13 however it turned out I still had the BM33 brake master from a standard S13. I went to Master Cylinder Exchange Service Wynnum and took my friends BM50 ABS master and did an exchange for a reconditioned non ABS BM50. It cost $275 and these are superior to a genuine nissan replacement as they have the stainless steel sleeve inserted into the bore. The part is guaranteed for life and the seals for 12 months. They say that a reconditioned master will out live the life of the car. Here is some handy information. 15. RB20 and 25 are much the same. The 32 ECU does not support variable valve timing however that is only active up to 3000rpm and honestly you don't notice any difference. This ecu was tuned for an internally standard rb25 series 1 motor with the high flowed standard injectors, kkr 430 turbo running 14psi, standard air flow meter, walbro 550hp pump, and usual exhaust and intercooler mods. Obviously it can run more than 14psi if you want to. Boost was increased to 18psi and was a very quick car. 14psi is perfect for street. More power can be had with a z32 afm however you would need a re-map which is quite cheap at around $200. With the correct turbo this setup can handle 300rwkw easily on a standard motor, 270rwkw for reliability day in day out.

  18. Supercheap auto, it's $8. Put of few dabs of super glue to the part and then stick the paper to it so it doesn't move around. Supercheap also sells a set of scalpals for $4 which is super sharp so you can cut it properly. Get some gasket sealer which is $14 and you are good to go. .8mm gasket paper is fine as it does compress once the part is all bolted in. Don't listen to what ppl say on these forums about it having to be the right size and this and that cos i've used this on plenty of cars and have stopped leaks good and proper and been on over a year and is perfect. People have made gaskets from kellogs cornflakes boxes and made a perfect seal. Mechanical stuff is not what it seems to be talked up to be
  19. SteveL - Thanks for your input. I have the car up on jacks ready to take the box out tomorrow so I can sort it all out. The anticipation for this car is intense as it will be putting out some decent numbers on standard rb20 engine (230-240kw). I am so frustrated that I can't select gears! battery - I always make my own gaskets. A roll of gasket paper costs $8 and getting genuine stuff is way too expensive and too far for me to drive and I believe my handmade gaskets are better anyway. See picture below for the front main seal gasket. It's .8mm jointing paper. Use with gasket sealer and you have perfect seal. 2LV8ETR - I am not a mechanic but learn quickly through disassembly and diagrams.
