  1. So turns out that the source of the smell wasnt the filters and there isnt a problem with the heater core from what I can tell....this mystery continues =/ If i were to try and spray in some sort of glen 20 or disinfectant, where would I spray this? Maybe that will solve it...worth a try since we always have that stuff hanging around the house
  2. only those who want to....or are brave enough to lol im not worried since ive been pulled over 3 times and have had 0 fines or defects
  3. im defs comming now, got my new plates today so definately good timing for a meet. Seems like we have a few who want to cruise so we can all go do that after if not everybody wants to come
  4. thinking about rocking up, ive never been on an sau meet or cruise yet! are we cruising anywhere after dinner?
  5. haha yeah I was like that at first, but eventually worked it out. 1. remove glove box. There are 2 sliding clips at the bottom of the box (stick head into the foot well to see them), you slide them and pull them out, that will let you take the glove box out. There is a retracting cable that is attached to the right hand side of the glove box, that needs to be slid off to let you remove the whole box. 2. remove all the screws behind the glove box, including the clip that the box grabs to in order to stay shut. Can't remember how many, probably 4 or so. This lets you take the whole panel off and reveals the aircon blower and filters. 3. locate the rectangle white plastic thing. there is a metal clip on the bottom, take that off. then slide the whole plastic thing up and that allows you to take if off. 4. now the white plastic rectangle thing is off, the filters are revealed. unfortunately they weren't the source of my urine smelling heater
  6. I'm going to try take the filter out to see if it is the problem, but can someone please tell me how to actually get to it? I looked in the r34 workshop manual but it only says how to take the filter out....not where it actually is and i have no idea. thanks
  7. Basically my heater smells like urine...bad....the musky cat piss type of urine. Has anyone else had this or know how to fix it? I would assume some sort of bacteria build up? It only smells with the aircon off, if i turn on the a/c then it doesn't smell but as soon as the a/c is off and its running off the fans/heater (regardless of temperature) it will stink. Help pleaseee! Cheers Dom
  8. Hey This is a sad sale (yeah i know everyone says that but I actually mean it ) but due to a new job I have to sell this car. It won't be the end though, once I'm off P's I'm going for a r34gtt I have spent over $12,000 on mods in the last 6 months, so its a big hit for me but great for you! I am the first AUS owner, it was imported from Japan end of last year. Serviced every 5k with top grade oils and had a major service done yesterday. Nothing was spared in the major service with about $700 in parts: timing belt, tensioner bearings, fan belts, platinum NGK spark plugs, coolant, german oil and more. This is perfect for a P plate driver under new license laws, looks good, sounds good and you can still drive it. I was pulled over by a highway patrol 3 days ago and they checked the car all over and didnt defect me for anything, its a good feeling Please respect the pricing and not say things like "too high blah blah", I'm open to offers but considering all costs involved so far I think this is fair. Year: 1999 Km's: 105xxx (100,000km service done yesterday) Location: Mornington Peninsula, Melbourne Colour: White Rego: Feb 2010 Transmission: Auto- tiptronic with 2nd gate + paddle shift Price: $16,999 for SAU members (will go on car sales for around $18k) Contact: PM or post in thread or email [email protected] Modifications: Engine/performance (well not that much really): - Apexi high flow panel filter - 2.5" mandrel bent mild steel exhaust from manifolds back with high flow cat and high flow muffler (very nice tone) Body: - Impul body kit - 18" gmax wheels- shadow chrome spokes with chrome walls- 9.5" fronts and 10.5" rears - 6000k headlights + matching parkers - White LED interior dome light - Blue LED dash lights - Darkest legal window tint (done less than a month ago) Sound: no cent spared here, since i couldn't do performance mods it all went into making it sound awesome. - Pioneer double din touch screen head unit. with ipod, 2.5mm jack and usb port in glove box. AVH-P4050DVD (rrp $1499) - Alpine Type-R front splits SPR-17S (rrp $349) - Alpine Type-R two way rears SPR-17C (rrp $229) - Alpine Type-R 12" Sub SWR-1222D (mounted in custom made sub box moulded to boot) (rrp $399) - Fusion Reactor 1000w monoblock amp (rrp $349) - Pioneer 600w 4 channel amp (rrp no idea) - All hooked up to a secondary sealed battery in the boot to run system with car off. This battery is linked to the main battery with an electronic isolator switch which charges it from the main batt when car is on and isolates it when car is off.
  9. 10 confirmed and if the others who are coming show, 16/17. It isn't JDM only so could be a few random cars in the mix. I'm not sure what is going on with the Auto Indulgence cruise but if some of them join us then a few more than that
  10. haha I know, that why I think yourself and some others from around here should come along
  11. thanks I got it from carmate.com.au however it wasn't the best fit, took a bit of modding to get right and even still you can see between the grill and bonnet a fair large gap. I knew fiberglass replica kits wouldn't fit perfectly but luckily my godfather was the bodyworks guy who did the job...otherwise the labour costs to get it all done would have been crazy.
  12. A Skyline r34 has been my dream car since the day I played need for speed underground 2. I saved my money and before I turned 18 I purchased my dream car. Bought it totally stock and have been working on it since Feb so that when June came around it was ready to go. Last week I had the tint and lowering done and its just how I imagined it Apart from 2.5" manifold back custom system and high flow filter (doubt it even did anything), engine is stock. Not much I can really do on P's.
  13. Hey everyone very late notice, but me and two mates decided to go for a late cruise tomorrow night. Its turned out to be a few more cars than we thought so now going to make a route etc rather than our normal whatever goes approach. Late notice but it was a last minute thing that a few people have expressed interest in. 14. thanks for the replies Yeah he definitely uses top quality oils and fluids, one of those mechanics who cringes at the thought of people putting cheap shit into their imports. I'll call up to see if it includes a water pump, otherwise might see if i can supply parts instead. Considering i'm putting in about $550 worth of parts, he'd be charging $550 for labour + the normal service items like fluids...so maybe it isn't so unreasonable.
  15. Hey people Did a search but didn't find what I was exactly looking for. I've hit 100,00km on my n/a r34 25gt so its time for a major service. Since I haven't had any experience myself I wanted to get it done by a pro. I was given a quote of $1100 by a jap import mechanic down my way, is this a normal price? I didn't get full details but that includes new spark plugs, timing belt, and im assuming bearings and seals. As well as the standard service like dropping oil, coolant etc. What should I be paying for a major service including parts? Also found this http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Ni...or+service+cost so I was thinking of buying the parts myself to save money and just get the mechanic to do the install. Cheers Dom
  16. Hey Just got a new Isotta steering wheel, but need a boss kit to fit it. I'm not actually sure what type/size I need, so anybody have one for sale that will fit my R34 25gt? If not, can someone please point me in the direction of one that will fit? Thanks Dom
  17. Name: Dominic Tallon Location: Melbourne Contact: msn: [email protected] or PM here or email: [email protected] Website: www.apertureprophoto.com About me: I've been into photography for about 5 years. 1.5 years ago I turned it into my part time job. I do weddings, events and portraits. I shoot with a Nikon D3 (or two of them if a wedding), 24-70mm 2.8, 70-200mm 2.8, sb800 flash etc etc. If you want a car shoot done....just let me know. I won't charge SAU members....maybe just a few $$ to cover fuel money for me to drive to you. Only other issue....I'm in year 12 and won't be on my P's until June 6th. But any time after then it should be fine. I'll do a proper shoot with my car too with the first person who asks me.... my body kit + lowering will be done by then, so will look nice. For anyone up the coast, between Melb and Gold Coast, if you want a free shoot done...i'll be heading up there at the end of this year if you can wait. My mate will be tagging along with a very nice supra, so we can all go do a shoot if you are after one.
  18. Like the other thread, I am also looking for a R34 GTT wing/spoiler. Preferably painted in white and ready to bolt on. If not, then unpainted so I can paint and install myself. If you have one, please PM me here, email at domtallon[at]gmail.com or msn dom.101z[at]hotmail.com Cheers Dom
  19. Thanks for all the replies guys. I went with TokyoTaxi's suggestion. custom built 2.5" mild steel. Mandel bent, high flow car, high flow resonator and high flow low profile muffler with 4" tip. Here's a before and after vid:
  20. Heyy Before I ask, yes I've done the research and looked through about 20+ past threads on this question. I've still been unable to find a solution so now im here! I've got a stock r34 NA exhaust and I want to upgrade to a new system. I'm not particularly after more power, but rather a nicer tone. However, I don't want to lose power/tourque so a 3" system may be out of the question. What advice can you give me on a 2.5" exhaust system to get. Where can I find one to buy online? I looked on nengun.com but they didn't have anything. I've considered going to my local exhaust place and getting a custom 2.5" system made up, but I would rather get a quality system (HKS, xforce, blitz etc). I'm after a deep tone with minimal drone with an awesome sound at high revs. Sound level? Well i'd like to get a silencer but without silencer nothing over 100db What are my options? Thanks Dom

  22. I had a read through the thread on the carbon fibre sail mount earlier, but I'm not sure if it would work for me because of the size. The type-r splits seem too big even for that.
  23. Heyy I've been gathering all the parts I need to put together a half decent sound system but I've run into a problem. The tweeters for the SPR-17S type-r splits are massive. I have no idea where or how I am supposed to mount them into the car. The doesn't seem to be a space (apart from right next to the door handle) that is wide enough to cut out and mount a tweeter. Has anybody here had any luck? How/where did you mount the tweeters for your type-r splits. Cheers Dom
  24. Ahhh thanks heaps for that. That must be why the guy said "might" not fit. Well in that case, I can get the wheels that I really wanted now
