  11. hey Rolls, thanks for that info. since its a nistune modded ecu it has a usb consult, so i could just find someone (a tuner) with the software and get some data logged like you said. but i tend to agree that it seems to be getting stuck sometimes the wrong mode. it just feels TOO different to just the ambient temperature or something like that...
  12. okay well if it is to do with that, which it could be now that you have explained it like that....i guess theres not really much that can be done about it. but now i realise why it happens ill be able to accept it, its just when it feels different between days for no apparent reason i wanted to find out why haha. thanks birds!
  13. thanks for explaining it like that Birds very useful can you suggest a reason why on different days it reacts differently from a cold start? might be a long shot, but would the temperature of the oil initially have anything to do with it? (could it vary enough between days to make a significant difference?)
  14. hey Ryan long time no see haha the most annoying thing with mine is that some days it will be fine from the word go, and some other days it will remain sluggish even after its fully warm wish i could find out why it was so intermittent...
  15. so what you're trying to say is, its completely necessary
  16. Interesting that you say that the rb20 ecu's dont learn, ive heard the exact opposite I can only guess and say that disconnecting the battery resets something in the ecu and makes it 'work properly' for a few starts. i will try to confirm this i can tell you its definitely not a placebo effect, i understand what youre saying but i can assure you it is happening.
  17. using motul turbolight 10w40. have tried penrite hpr10 10w50 extra ten, which says its for use with 10w40 situations... same problem still occurred will be interesting to see what result DuFFR32 has. i might try that too just to see if it in fact was a coincidence.
  18. what youre saying is fair enough and makes sense, but the point of the question was to find out why it seems different after those few more minutes of letting it sit. you obviously know youre stuff so theres nothing to argue about, and totally makes sense about driving warming it up quicker. now that ive actually seen it make a difference after the battery had been disconnected, im going to assume its something going on with the ecu and cold start...so i guess the best thing would be to do is talk to someone who has an understanding of the tune and cold start settings...thanks for your response anyway its always good to learn a thing or two
  19. wow im glad someone has actually experienced the same thing as me! im not sure if its a coincidence but i went away for a while and disconnected the battery, and when i came back, first start it was really responsive. But now after driving it regularly it seems to be intermittent. i would guess the way to reset it would be like normal rb20 ecus and disconnect the battery, and drain the backup power from it (sorry if that terminology isnt correct) so sounds like it could be related to that....but just a guess
  20. clutch should hold around 200rwkw flywheel is a direct replacement for factory just a hell of a lot lighter and yep its for a 33 pm me if you want to work something out
