No, by what reasoning? You are enlarging the ports slowing the velocity of exhaust gases. You would not see any benefit for the power you want to make. Or you can give me the money and do what I said if it makes you feel better jks
Can someone else share some light into this I want to know what everyone else thinks

Im running a pfc djetro with twin maps yes . I will just plumb it back into the outlet on the turbo then just wasnt sure if they both were required the stock bovs are trust and proven I wont change out for aftermarket no need.
-
just a quick question with running a single turbo with ex gate do i need to run the factory bovs and pipeing ?
-
IIRC it was about 800nm @ about 5200rpm
the cams I am hoping to get done are going to be hard on the valve train and since I have a few cars it doesn't matter if it sits around for a bit here and there, for a every day car Pauls ones from Unigroup are what I recommend, 260 x 10.8, this I have already posted in your thread
I went from 260 x 9.15 lift back to 250 x 9.15 lift on the old 2.6 and it made the same peak power just 800rpm sooner
When you say will be hard on ya valve train is that because of such a big lift

Cheers I hope these soecs will do me well on track aswell on e85. I will talk to kelford see if they can do a custom grind
-
Hey guys thought I would throw the question to see if anyone has one lying around as above after accusump with manual valve
-
R34 GTR
593awhp/445awkw @ 24-25psi
RB26/30DETT
HKS GT-RSs, yes fancy -10s
250 x 9.15 poncams
ARC cooler
ID1300s
custom twin 3" into single 4" exhaust
Syvecs S8 ecu
has done 623awhp/467awkw @ 28psi
How much torque were you making . At 623 hp .
I have a 3582r going on mine kford doing my head interesting results on ya cam choice .must be very responsive I would like to know he ideal lift and duration who is making your custom cams I miggt get kelford to grind me some custom ones but knowing the spec would be great
-
So im stuck on cam choice still what is the ideal duration cam shaft to use in my application 7250 rpm rev limit ported head. Stock rb30 bottem end with prep upgrade
-
Haha yeah goes ok, buts its never finished you know that
Stock head with BC springs, the 250s are heaps the lift is restricting it a bit, bring on the customs ones
Keys, yeah but it's kings cross rules
What lift are the 250 s and whats done to your 30 bottem end
-
Good one, if it is not too late get your head back! Or just get them to do as I suggested and forgot all the porting.
Wouldnt it be better if I got it ported and just went smaller cams ?
-
Yes, but that is not the overall issue... the whole exhaust side including turbocharger will be too small.
The problem is you will have way too much engine for the turbocharger you have selected, you will end up having high exhaust back pressure relative to boost pressure and with the duration camshafts you are thinking about you will end up having reversion.
To take advantage of the 'blow down' effect (i.e. 1:1 ratio of exhaust manifold pressure to boost pressure) you need bigger turbo, bigger exhaust housing, an engine built to rev high (as most of its life will be above 5000-6000rpm if it is an RB).... then you can spec some longer duration camshafts with some overlap.
If it was me, RB26/30 with the turbocharger you have, E85 so you can screw as much into the turbocharger as possible with a stock RB26 head (just get rid of sharp edges and unshroud valves in combustion chamber) and spend $6k on your driveline!
I am running e85.

Edit o ring fittings wont work but the hoses shoul be ok ?
-
Im making up hoses for my accusump I have a heap of -10 aircon hose and air con fitting would this work ok with oil temp and pressure I spose press would not be a problem
-
Is the rad fan off a r33 gtr and has it got any cracks in it at all
-
Hey guys,
Out of curiosity how much power did you put out before your gearbox has blown with the rb30.
Give us a rough breakdown on the
- clutch ( single / twin / triple plate )
- torque figure
- kw / hp
- how you drive it ( track it here and there / often or street it only )
My gearbox is in great condition when i was running 234kw on the 26 and redline oil but now ive got a RB30 with HKS2530's expecting close to 600hp, probably a decent torque level too with the ported head, ported manifolds , ported rear housings etc...
Going to wakefield soon.. Will probably blow the gearbox there... hopefully not till the end of the day haha.... can only hope !
I've got a single plate 6 button brass button now without a spun centre which is gna be a bastard... Lol... told jim berry i wanted something nice and driveable but he gave me that ... oh well..
How did yours go ?
This will be interesting I have one of the jim berry clutches too just built I think its solid centre to and im getting my 26/30 built as we speak

Who else agrees with above ? ..........
-
I've ran one now for a couple months.
IMO, get rid of the check valve, don't worry about the solenoid vavle. I just run a manule isolator. Cheaper and fail safe.
Works well for me
Best place to purchase in aus what car are you running one on
-
If you are using a GT35R with the 0.8 (ish) housing and a 3.5" exhaust then you are wasting $6k... sorry. Exhaust back pressure will be too high to take advantage of cams with overlap. I would also forget about any cams that have increased duration over stock with what ever you get done.
I would have bought a gearbox with an OS Giken gearset for that money.
So are you saying exhaust is to small ?
-
Thats what rob is using on a few builds he is doing at the moment thinks its an excellent combo
-
Why is that ?
-
im in the middle f getting quotes for an accusump 3 quart for my r33 gtr build. when you guys ordered ya gear the accusump itself has a pressure release valve on it doesnt it i am ruuning a manual valve with a cable just one less thing to go wrong and this is what robs from rips uses
with plumbing it in witht the ex oil cooler in place do you guys just cut and put a t piece in line going back to engine from oil cooler with a check valve on the cooler side of the t piece?
-
I am in the middle of piecing my build and have been looking at cams.
Would the 182-c's 272 dur 10mm lift be suited to a 3.2 bottom end with gt3788 turbo?
I have been speaking with kiel from kelford cams in nz. He recomends me using the 182 -s 274 10.8 lift but there needs to be mods done to shims and buckets for clearance in the head for them to fit I was quoted 600 nz for the marching etc and 12 for each shim mod thats in nz $$ too I am going to go ahead with it I have gone this far might aswell do it once .im running a gt3582r im not sure about tour turbo . My head is costing me me 6600 nz

Your also paying him a lot of money for building your engine.
I would be seeking and using his advice even if it means it takes a bit longer to hear back from him.
True I am but I have been firing away too.many questions for the minute going to give him a call today for the first time
-
I have asked him enough questions for the minute he is very very busy im pulling him awsy from builds
