  1. not sure if this helps buddy but i was stuck around 350rwkw for a long long time until we found that our CAS was faulty. After replacing it power shot straight to 390rwkw.

Might be worth checking it if you see signs of back fire and stuff like that as they tend to fail quite often.

  2. maybe quinn will give me a commission?! or maybe you will for saving you dough!? haha, it certainly is keenly priced. hope you get it mate. it's ADM for the price of a race only JDM. not to mention it being a targa winning car this year. should still be pretty fresh. I can't think of a better car for $95K.

Well i just heard back from the owner. Was sold about 2weeks ago =[

    the search continues =[

  3. Would anyone be able to confirm some rumors ive been reading about the r35s "Launch Control" issues that were floating around?

Ive done some research and watched the video on youtube where GT Channel interviews one of the cheif engineers about the launch control issue. and these are the details ive found. Any help much appreciated.

    • With VDC on, Nissan claim a 3.5sec 0-100 time
    • Online rumors claim a 3.3sec 0-100 time can be achieved with VDC off
    • Nissan explain that VDC off is only to be used to get the vehicle out of mud/snow
    • Nissan explained that with VDC on, it can still do the same 0-100times as with VDC off
    • Launching the car with VDC off can damage the gearbox and void warrenty due to high temperatures.
    • Online rumors claim that launches with VDC off does not invalidate warranty unless crashed during VDC being switched off (which can be confirmed by data logging)

It also seems that there is a large topic about the "Launch Control" versions Nissan currently have employed.

    • The R35 originally came with LC1, which allowed the car to stall to 4000rpm with VDC off
    • After a number of gearboxes failing with LC1, Nissan developed LC2 which dropped the RPM from 4000 to 3000. No limit was opposed on the amount of launches at this point and this form of launch control did not need VDC to be off.
    • Rumours claim that Nissan is in the works about developing a LC4 where the ECU will only allow up to 4 launches in a row depending on gearbox temperatures. The advantage of this is that you dont have to worry about voiding the warrenty as the ECU will only allow x amount of safe launches.

Finally, how does all this affect me if i am purchasing a 08/09 JDM GTR? would it be possible to send the car back to Nissan Japan to get a ECU reflash with the new launch controls?

    Thanks again for any help.

  4. yeah but you do realize if you buy one of those Targa cars as a road car and get pulled over you are pretty stuffed.

Could you elaborate on exactly what kind of issues i may run into with the authorities?

Thats why I went sick on my 9 second Drag R33 GTR and turned it into a circuit car for private track days,

and will leave my R35 in street tune (interior wise anyway!) so I cant get in to grief if I do find myself on the side

of the road with an admirer.

Funny thing is these days I can get over 500 kw at wheels out of the R35 while it still looks stock and the

R33 is a fire breathing monster at that power level.

My old R33 "street GTR" was runing 450 awkw and used to rock at the traffic lights like it was on something.

I remember a few years ago pulling up at the lights next to a cop bike and he just pulled up his helmet and

shook his head at me.... respect!

I wish I could get my R35 to cam over like that at the lights.

I completely understand how u feel Munro.

Sometimes i feel like i should invest in a blown out r34 GTR with something like a T51R on a 2.8 stroker ect and have a Toyota Prius as a daily LOL.

Its just something about a lumpy rb that sends shivers down my spine =]

  5. can't find Russ's on the web, but pm 'giant' on this forum. it's his car.

I did find Quins car though. even better it's an ADM, has some gear on it and he's asking $95K. I'd snap it up if I were you. it's also black. :)

    Damn, Voicemail lol.

hopefully im not to late. You just opened the flood gates Richard lol.

  6. The only reason i am going for a JDM instead of a ADM is due to my budget. Unless someone is willing to sell their ADM at JDM prices i dont think i could be thinking about ADMs.  Just test drove a 2010 M3, very nice car but pretty much a wank factor. If i cant get my hands on a decent JDM r35 i think i may just have to take the pludge on a new HSV GTS with the walkinshaw package.  400rwkw with Warrenty and anti-epa is a decent deal.

if only that JDM white r35 in QLD was black!! Call me crazy but im not the biggest fan about changing the paint colour of a 100,000 car. Much rather keep it the standard colour.

  7. Hi guys,

I'm in the Market for a new car and have been looking into the new HSV GTS E3 range with a walkinshaw package. However the price is tipping into the JDM r35 price range.

I havnt seen too many that I've liked on carsales and would preferr a black one.

Just wondering if anyone is considering selling their black JDM r35? Or if anyone knew of alternative websites that may be advertising.

    Cheers

  8. I never understood why people built cars like that and then sold them straight away, what is the point in spending all that money otherwise?

believe it or not its on 98ron Shell Vpower =]

Never got a chance to test it on e85, especially after the twin 044 pumps and teflon fuel lines. Had a offer to buy it that i couldnt refuse. Deposit paid and the car picked up next week.

    So sad =[

  9. I hear what your saying Chesty,

I know delays are common in this type of industry. But how hard is it to include these possible delays into a timeframe? Yes some delays cannot be forseen but in my personal experience with mechanics/panel beaters ect, rather then me recieving a phone call the minute there is a delay. i have to find out the card way the day before its picked up. But i guess this falls under communication as you said, which certainly does need to be improved.

You would think that if delays were so common, panel shops would start catching on and giving customers a longer timeframes. That way when a job is completed earlier, the customer is left with a good feeling rather then a sour taste. Its simple things like this that will always seperate the really great workshops out there from the average joe.

    my 2c

  10. Yes agreed...bit unfair to lynchmob based on one side of a story...from someone who believes 1 week is a massive delay (sorry OP, but that was a bad call). This stuff does happen but customers also get bees in their bonnets. Will stop contributing to the pen names now.

It seems to be common practice in the import scene that "another week" is a small ask and should be given when asked. This is simply a classic example of a workshop not knowing what it means to keep a schedule or prioritize things. I understand things can get delayed but workshops these days are getting to comfortable with giving bullshit timeframes leaving the customer out of pocket/no transport for a number of days he hasnt planned for.

The car should be ready on a date that is agreed apon before the job commences, there really shouldn't be any excuses.

  11. The SAU Feedback is for transactions that take part via SAU (ie the For Sale area, Trader area).

What happened to you is external to SAU.

Think like Ebay feedback - it's exactly the same principle.

You can't just go and leave bad feedback for someone on Ebay for something that had nothing to do with Ebay :)

End of the day whilst you might feel stronly about it, it has nothing to do with SAU.

Too some extent you harbour blame here too and hence SAU will not become involved directly or indirectly. Once you have a court ruling you are more than welcome to come back and name names. Don't care then as a court has decided.

Nothing wrong with people asking you via PM for the workshop name as i stated earlier, anyone with half an idea will already know who you are talking about anyway.

I know you might think I'm a cvnt for the view above, but there is a much bigger picture here.

I here ya buddy, its a real shame though. I wish i could just tell everyone who it was.

  12. First off I'd just like to Thanks for listening, I feel like we gotta stick together in this shit to make ppl not go through the same shit. You know whole I was waiting those 4 hrs I called legalaid, I calle the police and even called Michael Kalzilny from MKLAW.com.au to ask for advice. They all said the same thing.

I couldn't take the car because work has commenced. If I do they all the cops and I'm

    In trouble

I have to pay what the panel shop wants even if it's outrageous.

When I pay. I need to tell him I'm paying in protest and will be lodging a complaint via consumer affairs.

I then need to go home, write up a formal letter explaining the situation, a resolution, a timeframe to respond and consequences if they do not respond. I need to sen it via registered post to leave a paper trail.

Only after the timeframe has ended can I lodge a complaint with Consumer affairs which will 6weeks to assess. After 6 weeks they will contact the panel beater and influence a more professional deal. But the panel beater dosnt even need to respond or speak to them. If they ignore consumer affairs it will be passed on to VCAT ( who is the tribunal and separate from consumer affairs) and will take up to 16 weeks to assess.

Only then can I request the compension of money lost on a poor job ect to get my money back.

I was so over with it I just paid =[

But thanks for the heads up about the tax dob in.

r31nismoid, this panel shop has a profile on sau. What stops me from leaving bad public feedback and licking it to this thread? Is there any legal issues? I obviously don't want SAU sued but feel really strongly about getting the word out.

  13. f**k me....

So here's a update guys, I got the car back but the f**king head f**k tk get there, read on.

So I call the panel shop on friday (3 days in advance) after already giving him a extra weeks extension to confirm the car will be indeed ready. I explain to him how i expect him to be professional and to keep me up to date the minute there are any delays and no further price hikes. The original quote of $980 went up to $1500. He go back and forth but eventually He gives the all clear and reconfirms pickup on Monday @ 2pm

Monday afternoon when I walk out the door to lick up the car I get a txt (not a phone call) saying he needs until Wednesday (extra 2 days). I immediately call him back but you guessed it. Voicemail, after another ring 5min later and another 15min later the phone turns off.

The next morning (wednesda) 9am I call again and manage to get through. I can hear how surprised he is that it was me (he must of forgot). He goes on to say that he had to fire his previous spray painter and things are going slow. I go on to ask when he fired him and his response was last week.

I tell him that I called him only a few days ago to confirm delivery so how did this happen? His response is the same and how his certain it will be sorted out. He asks for 1more day ( Thursday @ 11pm) and it will be done. I go on to tell him how tomorrow is the absolute last day and that if it wasn't ready, I would just take the car and to forget about the job. He assures me it will be done.

Thursday morning, (yesterday) I wake up, have a nice breakfast and leave the house around 10 to catch a bus to the panel shop. Nice day, a decent 19degrees. Mornings wrong. I get off the bus and walk the last 300m to the shop.

f**king unbelievable, this flamin mongrel msgs me again at 10.45am and says "I'm sorry for the f**k around but the panel shop is not answering"

I say to my self "wat f**king panel shop? Your the panel

    Shop!"

My pace picks up and before I know it I'm at the doorstep of the panel shop. The dickhead is on the phone with my car sitting outside with dried White liquid marks all over the car + a missing side skirt.

I approach the guy and ask "what's going on?!? What do u mean the panel is not answering"

His response " my independent panel beater isn't picking up his phone. He left Hallam at 9am" he uses a tone almost like I asked something stupid. Condescending n shit.

I continue to tell him that the agreement was that you do the job, why did you handball it to some no body? And why the hell is my car covered n shit? Whew is my other side skirt? All you were doing is repairing a frontbat, rearbar and side skirt.

He says that it's nothing very easy wash, and then ignores the question and says his not sure where his friend is.

Buddy, listen to me. The car was suppose to be rdy 1.5weeks ago. You were suppose to do it. Your freiend left Hallam at 9am it's 11.30. What the f**k do you think he is doing. Hallam is only 15min away.

Shit goes back and forth and the discussion ends like this.

He dosnt know where is friend is

    He left a message

He tells ms to just wait

He goes back inside and starts some other job

Un f**king believable is how I feel at this point. I walk over to the car to inspect the job. f**king fantastic.

Not only has this f**k not repaired the bar. His just painted over it. You can see the uneven surfaces and holes in certain places. I call the guy out of the shop to talk about it.

I show him what I'm unhappy about and point out that I originally told him that I wasn't to happy about the extensions but was happy to accept it cuz k thought u were doing a good job. But what is this?

    His response,

" ahh well man, can't do nothing now."

    Me

"what kind of an atitude is this man?"

    Him

"if your not happy with my service I'll knock off $100bux"

    Me

"the quote to repair the bar was $180, you havnt even done that"

    Him

    "that's a I can do mate"

And he walks back into the shop.

I follow him in and ask him where his friend is. His response is the same. His on his way I don't know how long. I ask him to keep calling but he says he dosnt want to anymore. I ask him "considering the poor service up to this stage I think you should. "

He responds again that his on his way and just to wait. His getting upset at this point.

I continue to explain to him that I'm not happy, half the cars missing, your friend is MIA, the job that you have done is poor, is this how u run a business?!?"

The flamin mongrel says his business dosnt work on this stuff anymore. I say "that's a surprise, you didn't say shot when I asked you 2weeks ago" WTF is your business if you don't do panel work.

He pauses and then says "I don't have to tell you"

I laugh and tell him his a joke.

I'm getting pretty tired typing this out so I'll cut it short. I end up waiting infront of his shop for 4hrs and eventually his friend shows up with a painted side skirt. He screws it on and I go to sort the bill out.

I hand him $1450 which is $100 off for the shot repair job and I ask for a receipt.

    Him

"you want a receipt, extra 10%".

I'm going off my rocket in my head but I've had enough and just want to get it over with. I Hand him the 1450 in cash and leave.

Before all this happened I contacted VCAT about my options and they were very limited. Combined with a possible 5-8month turn around time on cases I didn't even want to waste my time.

What's worse is community forums ain't allowing dickheads like this to be exposed incase of being sued. I feel gutted about this whole exp and wish I could warn ppl.

Lesson learnt, get everything in writing.
