  1. To add to that. For someone looking to build a preformance car on a budget these are the turbines to use. I have a 800+HP capable turbine and I got it for $100 US + shipping. The GT35R I had on previously was $1300US + shipping and is only rated to 650HP at the top of the map where I was not boosting. The car we've been tuning recently is a stock 25 block with a 26 head boosting 1.7 bar on the HX52 and maxing out 740CC injectors.
  2. Holsets are still fairly new (2-3 years old) to street cars. Give it some time and I'm sure you will see some insane cars with them running.
  3. From Tial themselves. http://www.tialmedia.com/documents/w3_tial_wginstall.pdf
  4. Never had a problem with mine in the IC piping.
  5. The vac line on top should goto your boost controller, then the one comming out the back should goto your intake or intercooler piping.
  6. Ask and ye shall receive: Don't mis-quote me. I never said that Skylines don't have potential. Right now I am in the process of building my Evo up (melted a piston and decided to go bigger) to match up with a 1000awhp sexy beast of a GT-R.
  7. The idea is to allow a path from the front ports in the bumper over the engine and then out the back of the engine bay. Like, a speed driven fan of sorts.
  8. And as far as them catching on fire, I have yet to see that, and cooking a turbine? We are running an HX52 on a 25 at 2 bar and have had no problems except snapping both rear axels at around 700rwhp.
  9. If your mani is ceramic coated then it should be fine. The temprature comming out of the exhaust side of the head is what I'm refering to. Say your exhaust temps are 400c at idle, you ceramic coat it takes you to 420c at idle, turbo condom for another 20. Since you are trapping heat at all the dissipation points, your exhaust gases will be higher temperature from the time your exhaust valves open to the time it hits the wheel of the turbine.
  10. If its carbon then its not going to be your intake. Check for exhaust leaks. If there is carbon being deposited on the hood, then there should be some around the block or where the leak is at. Sometimes sounds can be deceptive, it may sound like its comming from the intake side, but you are seeing carbon deposits which would make me think exhaust side. Mani or turbine.
  11. Effective yes. The whole point of this is to keep heat in the turbine. The hotter the air the more heat energy that you are creating to push against the exhaust wheel. I'm assuming a bonnet is the hood of the car, if so, it does help with this a little by confining the heat to the turbo condom. Problem is, it will still escape from the bottom where there is less coverage, and being that heat rises, will still keep your engine bay a little warm. The only real concern would be in a high HP high boost application where you would need to worry about exhaust temps. Since you will be dissipating less heat your headers/ex mani will be much warmer than before, and thus you will notice an jump in temperature on the exhaust side.
  12. What programs exactly do you not find on linux? If you are going to list games I'll agree with you. I switched every PC (7 of them) in my house to some flavor of linux years ago (save 1 vista box for gaming) and have always found the programs I need, and guess what, they are all free with no risk of being caught for piracy.
  13. Sounds like you need: http://linuxmce.com/
  14. Not seeing anything about dip switches there.
  15. Power to weight ratio........ 4wd advantage for the non R types

    Lo

Well, I'm not a skyline owner but rather a skyline killer owner. I have a 92 Lancer RS (AKA Evo I) and am located in Okinawa Japan. I've heard alot of good things about this site mechanically wise, and seems like a good place to find parts/makers in oceania.
  17. Easy man, just take it the commander with you and test fit it. Think I got mine for 5 bucks at Autobacs. Heres an ebay link to someone making them: If you are rich and want JDM TITE YO style: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/R-Magic-Pow...0305125007r6163 Otherwise: http://cgi.ebay.com.au/APEXI-POWER-FC-COMM...tem270354016111
  18. Reviving this thread just to say: Evo + HX52 = skyline in the rear view.
