  1. I don't think this problem is caused by the battery. While the engine is running, the alternator should produce enough energy or electricity to run every single system. This is pretty logic, if the alternator can't produce enough electricity, even if you replace 10 more battery, they will die eventually. Unless the main problem is your alternator. Once fixed, don't forget to share the solution(s).
  2. Hi all, I have an R34 GT-T, and the speedo/dashboard panel has been playing up. When I switch to accessary mode, it goes fully retarded (refer to picture below). When I am driving the speedo and rev meter max out and than everything on the pannel (speed, rpm, fuel, temp and odo) all go to zero (odo goes blank). After about 5 min the fule and temp usually come on first and than a few sec later the speedo and rpm will come back. When they come back they are way out. I will be doing 60 and the speedo says 120. If i keep driving it will max out again and repeat what i said eairler. When I have a chance I will upload videos and put links for you to see. Anyone have any idea what it is and how to fix this issue? I have seen topics about this around but there was now real solution. Your help is much appreciated. Thanks.

  7. It sounds like either coilpacks or spark plugs. First, replace all the spark plugs and see how you go with that. You can get a good set for about $70 off eBay, they go for about 100k or you can get the cheap ones at about a few dollars each. The cheap ones give good sparks but you would need to replace them every time you service the car. This is the cheap option. Secondly, if problem doesn't go away, check the coil packs. While the car is running, disconnect the coil pack one at the time and listen to the engine sound. If you unplug 1st one and the engine is struggling even more then you know that that coil pack is ok. If you disconnect it and the engine remain running at the same struggling pace, then you know that this coil pack is gone. It might be hard to explain to you here by typing. If you like, inbox me your number and I'll give you a call. Other than this, it could be from the fuel pump. One of my coil packs died before and I manage to get a genuine one for about $60.
  8. No bro, mine doesn't even read at all. Except last night, it started of on 60 when the car was standing still, it went to 170 when I was going at 60 according to the Gps. This morning it didn't work at all.

  10. 2. I was pulled over by a cop’s car and there were 3 officers in the car, one male and two female officers. This was because I made a sudden move turn lmao. Anyways, so a very young female police officer came to my window and asked if I have any illegal items in the car. I said “nope” she then asked if she could search my car and I said go for it and I went out of my and let the girl did her job. While the she was searching the other two were standing behind my car and ready to back the girl up or something. So she found a red thingy inside my car and asked what it was, I told her it was a flare. She asked again why you have a flare inside the car. I told her it is for in case you have an emergency and you use it to tell or warn others (well that is what I believe it is for) and I also told her that all the imported skylines have one with it and she was surprised about it. And while she was searching my whole car I was just standing with the other two officers talking about other things just to get rid of my boredom I told them I was almost accepted into the Darwin (NT) police force. (Not going into that because it is too long but it was a great experience I had with their recruiting processes and if you really want to know then I will tell you about it) So after she finished searching my car and I asked did you fine anything? ‘Nope’ she replied and they let me go. I had a bad day that day, I lady reversed into my newly R34 GTT 2 doors and when she got out of her car and put her hand on her chest and said something really funny. “ Omg i didn’t see you car as you were on my blind spot, I am so sorry for this, are you angry at me for the damage I did to your car?” NO SHIT I WAS PISSED BECAUSE I JUST BOUGHT IT AND YET MY CAR WAS IN A STATIONARY POISITION, HOW COULD SHE NOT SEE THAT? (Careless driver). But no I said its ok let the insurance deal with the damages. So we both exchanged the details and left. This happened 2 hours before I got pulled over for a search. So the point is, just be nice and polite to police because they have the power to do anything and the more you piss them off the more they will revenge by picking any little things on your car and give you fines. As someone that did legal study has mention and I myself know quite a lot about laws. So Yes, they - Have the power of arrest - They can legally break the law (i.e how cool is that when they can speed and drive through red lights but we cant?) - Can use force given by the authority but it must be necessary, reasonable and not disproportionate to the objective. Ask them if they know the 51 words with one single comma and one full stop. It listed under Crimes Act 1958, Section 462A. “A person may use such force not disproportionate to the objective as believes on reasonable ground blah blah blah. Well that was my side stories...   11. Shhiiiet this topic is long and old as... but i am very impressed with the ideas and discussions from all of yous. Some topics were related to my situation and some weren’t. However I’m going to share my good and bad experience I have had with cops in the past. Btw I live in Melbourne 1. A year ago when I had my 4 doors R34 NON TURBO, I was driving to Ringwood through Knox city and a cop's car was following me and I even noticed it. There were 2 of them in the car pulled me over and started to check my car all around. He gave me a huge list of defections on my car along with an extra fine for failing to display the P-Plate stickers. The defections were: - Bold tyres (The back two were and I’m not saying anything to that and I was going to replace new ones anyway) - Dark tint sticker on the brake light that says SKYLINE (The light on the boot) - The exhaust was not well secured - Tinted window (All or most of the stock imported Skyline R34s have tinted on the back half windows) - Eye lids (wtf is wrong with having them on?) - Head lights need to be polished (Which I had them polished ONE week before that night because I had a minor accident) - I forgot what the other one was but I remember there were 7 items. Another fine was 'Failed to display P-platters on the window' I did have the P plates on both of my front and back windows but the back one u hardly see because of the back window was tinted. ON TOP OF THAT I also had the Magnetic P plates on my hood and at the back of my boot. I had them on because some old people can’t see the Ps from the inside of my car. However, I bought these plates when I went to Sydney for a holiday. The P-plates in Victoria have green background and white letter P whereas the NSW ones have white background and green letter P. (STILL HE DIDTN LET ME GO FOR THAT ONE EVEN WHEN I ASKED FOR THE EXCEPTION) I can still remember his name because a lot of people know this officer and I have heard good stories about him. His name is ADAM PETTETT and I am not sure if the story I was told from other people was true or not but here was the story. I was told that his son used to have a R34 GTR and he smashed the car so bad and killed himself. This is why he hates Japanese cars so bad that he would pull over any Japanese and modified cars over when he sees it. (Once again this was what I heard) He pulled a lot of people over and they complained about him and he got moved to a different area for 6 months and he just got back and he started doing it again. Anyways, I made some phone calls and researches about it and I wrote a letter of complaint about it and surprisingly I got away from it. With the defections I couldn’t write a letter about it because of the facts about the tyres and the exhaust. YES, guys you can complain about police and there are people out there will deal with them. If you call up any head office and complain about any officer, they will just back each other up. However, they will and most probably have a meeting with the particular officer and discuss about it. (Same with your family.. If someone comes to your door to revenge one of your brothers or sisters for doing something wrong or hurting someone, you will back them up at that point of time but after that you will deal with your brother or sister individually right?) I forgot what the address was, where u can write a letter to but I still remember the name of it. It is called the "PENALTY REVIEW BOARD" In the letter I told my situation and along with some questions where they wouldn’t be able to answer such as: If the tinted was illegal than why did that car past the RWC and got registered in the first place? (NOT to mention I bought that car off a dealer and the dealer did all the paper work) I also told them the story about what I have heard about ADAM PETTETT. So they let me off this one which saved me $175 fine and 3 demerit points. (Btw I thought not having or failing to display your P plates will face a $550 fine? not $175?) SO GUYS WHO LIVE IN VICTORIA, if you have a modded car or imported car you shouldn’t drive around Knox's area. If you have to, just keep an eye on cops cars. Regards Charlie
  12. Hey guys, the other day i brought my car to this place called R.E in Westall. Anyways RE was too busy with the other cars on this dyno which he couldnt come out to have a conversation with me. However, another guy came up to me and asked what was my problem. I told him about it and he said he had the problem before and it was this boost sensor at the back on the engine and its attached to firewall of the car. (You guys might confuse which one im talking about but this one is easy to take off or disconnect). So we disconnected the plug and the problem was gone, however the high boost was still there. Right now i am driving it with the boost sensor unplugged. So the questions are: 1. Is it because of my boost sensor playing up which is why i have a boost cut after about 5000-5500 rpm? 2. If I keep driving with the boost sensor unplugged, would there be any consequences? e.g blowing up my engine, turbo or gasket etc? 3. WIth the high boost - should i just buy another turbo and replace it for get someone to rebuild it for me? Thanks guys

  14. Ohh ok thanks guys. Ill check with some professional prob Thursday or something. But in the mean time can i still drive the car? Do you think i could blow up the turbo or engine if i keep on boosting? If i drive normally would it still be bad idea?
  15. Woooo... thanks heaps Maddowse, today you have been a really helpful and that you have released huge stress out from my head. Erm now i am also positive that it is the coil packs problem, and sadly there is an issue on top which is the weird dirt oil in my turbo and through those pipes. (Does anyone else has this this problem?) btw love your car bro... Charlie

  17. Well maddows you are right about the traction control and thanks for pointing that out. BUT But what you did not get was that Traction control isnt my real problem here. I know how traction control works and mine is set off always. I could drift or burn out fine. Erm i live in Keysborough bro. If you live somewhere far from there, I would drive to see you instead since this is my problem. Here is my number. Ill text you my number in ur inbox.   18. Once again, thank for the replies. Well the ECU was reset and all error codes had been cleared. The crank angle sensor was checked and it was OK. Dont know anything about AFM (what is it?) Good for me to know now than later. Unfortunately i live in Melbourne. , thanks for the offer though. Really appreciated that. Where can i get those cheap spark plugs based for Nissan Skyline? The guy told me, he sells spark plugs as well and for $5 each, but those are the shit one. He told me to get them from the Nissan dealer where it actually designs for Skyline. No need to adjust or anything, where other spark plugs i need to adjust to fix into my car. Any other opinion? So far you guys are really helpful, even though i havent check all those poissbilty issue points and i would like to see more coming The more, the better Regards Charlie

I live in Melbourne.... I have the same problem but im not sure if my car has a bleed valve or not. Im so noob at car and this car is my newly turbo car as i just got off from Ps plate.   20. I think we are on the same track. When i rev fast like push the pedal to the max it could go to 6k rpm on the first gear. Then the power cut off and it felt like as if i pushed the brake so hard. O_o If i put on nutral and contantly rev harder it would go up to 5K or 5K+ a bit then the power cut off again and nothing i could do but to just watch it dropped down to about 3.5k rpm then i could rev again. This is really weird. Can anyone help me please?
  21. Well i dont know if this is what you are looking for. This car is fully stock. Something that i know about a stock GTT is that it has not even 1 bar. More like 0.7 of a bar. Is that what you are looking for? I really need to meet up with one of you pros. I am so noob at car. Hence: this is my first turbo car
  22. How can i check? Sorry i am so noob. But I dont think it is the problem though. As the mechanic said that is has nothing to do with the boost controller. As i stated earlier today, a dude told me to change spark plugs. Can anyone onfirm with that? because i dont want to pay for nothing again $30 each one of them and plus the labour. So what do u guys reckon?
