  1. Grab some wax and grease remover from Bunnings. Its about $10.00. Start off by washing then claying your car to remove as much contaminants as possible then rinse and dry. Then use 2 old MF towels. 1 slightly soaked with the wax and grease remover and the other one dry. and use a wipe on wipe off method. This will remove all old wax/polish/sealants. You can then move onto your polishing and final waxing.
  2. I usually use a Driven extreme duty glass cleaner to remove heavy water spots and some light scratches caused by grit that have been stuck on wiper blades. http://www.reflecteffect.com.au/products.p...s&prodId=c1 I do this with a rotary and a cutting foam pad as it would be abit of work doing it by hand. It does leave some micro scratches so you will need to follow it up with a meduim abrasive polish.
  3. +1 for Menzerna. Finishes up so nice
  4. When are you booked in with Mark. Usually its hard to get a booking with him. Very busy man. Spoken to him over the phone a couple times aswell. Nice bloke, great work and he is like the veteran of us detailers! lol....
  5. I know him as a fellow detailer and have met him a few times. Ive seen some of his work and its top notch. Cheers Dave
  6. I have heard good things about FI's sealant so it would be a good option to go for. Yeah, not too sure about the 4 micorns. A japanese manufacturer which sells their own range of nano sealants reckons it does but it would be too hard to test as paint surfaces are inconsistent. There is a product called Gtechnique from Germany (i think) which uses this nano technology and it comes in a clear liquid form. Great sealant but very expensive. Around $120 for 250mls!
  7. The nano technology sealants cure harder than other sealants and some even say that it adds up to an extra 4 microns of protections ontop of the paint but not sure if anyone has actual proof of this. If your going to go for z2 pro then make sure you also get the zfx flash curing kit so you can layer it aswell. Do about 4-5 layers and it should give you about the same durability as the nano. Cheers Dave
  8. Did this test a while back with a few products to see how effective it is at "filling" in paint imperfections. All products were applied by hand to give the majority of peple out there a better idea of what kind of results can be achieved without having to machine polish. Products tested were: 1. Driven Automotive Polish (AIO) 2. Prima Amigo with Epic 3. Prima Banana Gloss 4. Glare Micro with Infinity Driven Automotive Polish This is an AIO polymer sealant which I mainly use as an LSP but wanted to see how it'd go at filling. A thin layer was applied with a foam applicator pad and left for 15 minutes before buffing off. Prima Amigo with Epic I used these 2 products together mainly because Prima states that these 2 are designed for eachother. The Amigo was worked onto the panel with a Grey LC foam hand pad until broken down then residue was buffed off. I let it sit for 15 minutes before applying Epic. Epic was also left for 15 minutes before the residue was buffed off. Prima Banana Gloss BG is a very runny product but you dont need to use much to get good coverage. This was also applied with a foam applicator pad and left for 15 mintues before buffing off residue. Glare Micro with Infinity Glare Micro is a paint cleaner which has filling capabilities. This was applied with the white side of a LC 2in1 hand pad. It was worked the same way as the Amigo (until broken down) then residue was buffed off. 15 mintues later I applied the Infinity paint sealant over the top of it. Left for 15 minutes then buffed off. The Infinity didnt seem to spread as nicely as the other products when applied. Glare also has other products such as Knockout and Spider which helps fill in heavier paint defects but you need to go through the whole process from Knockout to Micro to Spider. These all work in conjunction with eachother and I find it more effective when done by machine. I only used Micro on this test to keep it on the same level as the other products. Here is how I would rate the products. Ease of application(by hand) 1. BG 2. Driven Auto polish 3. Amigo & Epic 4. Glare Micro & Infinity Filling Capabilities 1. BG 2. Amigo & Epic 3. Glare Micro & Infinity 4. Driven Auto Polish Finish & Feel 1. Amigo & Epic 2. Driven Auto Polish (very Slick) 3. BG 4. Glare Micro & Infinity Durability(past experiences) 1. Driven Auto Polish 2. Glare Micro & Infinily 3. Amigo & Epic 4. BG Thanks for reading Dave

  10. Give Ispropyl alcohol a go. If its light water spots then it should do the job. If that doesnt work then this is what I use http://www.reflecteffect.com.au/products.p...s&prodId=c1 it has acidic cleaners in it and its an abrsive so it will get deep to reomve the water spots. i used this by machine on a WRX which had water spots all over it as it spent most of its life in rural areas. You can apply sealants on glass aswell to prevent water spots etching in. Cheers Dave
  11. Glassplexin is the Glare range. You can find it on the Infinity Auto website or if you want a true pro detailer that realy knows how to work the stuff then see Matt at Dream Machines in S.A. 12. Are you on the Goldcoast? If so, Get in contact with Dulvari Prestige or Driven by Shine. 13. Depending on how severe the defects are, the best bet would be to use an abrasive polish such as Prima Swirl or Driven finish restorer. Work it untill you get the desired result and then coat it with a layer of wax or sealant to protect. These polishes will cut back the paint and level out the defects. You have also got the option of using a filler but this is only a temorary fix and they only mask up hairline paint defects. Fillers usually only last about 2-3months. Cheers Dave
