  1. righto, i spose i can always turn off!! why would it be a small cruise, i would have thought there would be quite a few Skylines come along for a cruise, i know down my way in good ole Rocko there a heaps of Skylines and ive seen a few lady owners/drivers too, i feel like im out riding as usualy you get a wave as you pass lol! anyways, ied be happy to organise a Rockingham meet up to get to the cruise start on the day? anyone from around Rocko in here? Gonz.
  2. ied be keen to come out, ive only just got my R33 and a Skyline only cruise would be perfect, as long as your cruises arent dangerous as we will have our baby in the car with us, is that ok? Gonz.
  3. well lucky for me, ive put new plugs in, gapped them at .8, taped them like a thread i found said, got it all back together and took it for a drive, now she revs and pulls clean all the way to 7000RPM, woohoo!! so luckly i can hold off on the coils now, cheering, this is the 1st time its ran good since i got it afew weeks ago so im stoked at the power it has, they told me it had 295rwhp, i recon its close, ill be getting it dynoed soon for peice of mind to make sure its running the best it can and to learn more about it all too! Gonz.
  4. yeh i did have a look at your beast, and the other cars next to yours, was a good display!!! i didnt hear of any type of issues like people getting into cars, but yeh, that would piss me off too i spose, we always had atleast one person stay with the utes at all times to answer any questions and keep an eye out. gday mate, yeh even a stock engine bay can look great with abit of elbow grease and silicon spray, your cars looked great so an open bonnet would have toped it off nicely, it still leaves the imagination run wild to the on lookers!! Gonz.
  5. all of our utes in our display are daily driven cars except one that is still unregistered but enters into burnout comps, ill agree that there was a huge amount of Commodores, but we all got the same invite and chance to enter and if there is one thing ive come to find about Ford owners is that they suck at being sociable, there were a couple of race cars that actualy race and some exotic cars that get driven, the Lambo came in on a set of wheels showing wear but was then fitted with a set of wheels from Tech9Tyres for the show, other cars showing up on trucks and trailers were collectables, they are an investment for some people we should be happy that they show up to shows at all considering their value. my gripe of the show is more about the fact that more than half the cars there were un-maned and closed up whilst people payed good money to have a look at them and all they got to see was what they would see when its parked in a car park. On saturday when i was there, i never saw once any of the skylines parked across the back with the doors or windows or at the very least a bonnet open to show, i kept walking past but nothing, i was very keen to look at and talk about the mods i can do to my new daily R33 but got nothing really, spoke with a couple of guys there but that was it, the Silvias up from them had a members tent and everything yet their cars had bonets down and the only reason a window was open was because the drift race cars had them down!! so how can it be called a show when some cars were just there for the secure parking for the weekend! Gonz.
  6. yeh man i did search and ive read heaps but i still didnt really find the answers, however i did find that there is a common problem with the standard coils and that covering them in tape may help or prolong its life, i also found that i should set my plug gap before spending money on coils but i didnt really find an answer on what plug is best and why, but i will be doing this first thing once im back home! my fuel system is standard and im yet to see what computer it has, i bought this car from my sister in law, she is only telling me what she remembered the car having when she purchased it over 2 years ago, so im yet to check it out to see exactly what i have, i got the car 2 days before i left for work so i havnt had the time to look into it as im still away, for all i know the fuel system could have been upgraded as this car came with nitrous fitted and she was told the bottom end was rebuild to handle more boost when a bigger turbo was fitted. Im going to track the old owner down and see if he can shed some light on the mods, ive gotta get a picture of the car up to see if you guys recognise it from a couple of years ago!! Gonz. ps: Sorry EliSun, im in Perth over in WA, so i couldnt be any further away from you mate!!
  7. surely someone must have experienced this situation at some point of their build, any opinions would be greatly appreciated!! Gonz.
  8. im in the same boat wanting to get abit more from my R33, im new to this but i can pick up on most of the lingo but what exactly is "safc2 / power fc" mean? im guessing its got something to do with fuel management? also just quickly, what turbo do series I, R33 GTS-t's come with from factory? mine has been high flowed and will be for sale shortly when i fit a GT35 to replace it if anyone is keen, i dont know what its worth but the purchaser can come for a drive to make sure its ok before i remove it. Gonz.
  9. gday, my R33 breaks down as it revs up under load around 4000RPM, sometimes its drive through it other times it wont, at this stage it doesnt seem any worse as the engine gets hotter. The car has come with a high flowed standard turbo but im not sure what boost it is running yet. Ive read in here that problems like this are common and is normally caused by faulty coil packs or a spark plug gap issue. my questions would be related to what is better... Yellow Jacket coil packs or Splitfires coil packs?(i found new RB Splitfires for sale at $575 for the set) Iridium NGK's or the normal NGK spark plug? FYI: a not so far away mod will be fitting a GT35 to it and boosting it up, the bottom end already has forgies in it so i would like to give it a good level of boost if the fuel system allows me, so would my decision on spark plugs and coils come back to haunt me if i try and save a dollar now? are Splitfires the best ones on the market for this engine and a good upgrade to suit the GT35? is my high flowed standard turbo worth selling once i upgrade? what could it be worth? thank you in advance, Gonz.
  10. Saw you guys there, spoke with a couple of yas as well, good to meet yas! The show wasnt too bad, its a shame that we didnt get more of the best performance cars we have in WA but you get that, there was a heap of Commodores at this show, and typical of Fords not showing there stuff, i own a ford and know first hand how hard it is to get them to even go on a cruise, and there was a lack of buisness support and trade stands i thought they would be all over it, they must all be making too much money to bother advertising at a show! The ute club won best club display and some individual awards so we were stoked, did yas manage to get round and have a look at it? i was hoping to see more Skylines there to have a look at some performance gear for mine but the ones there had their bonnets closed all day Saturday so didnt get to see anything really, shame, there were some nice examples. ill catch yas out on a cruise sometime soon, Gonz.
  11. ahhh, no! i value my life and the fact she lets me have toys to risk going behind her back for a cruise hahaha!! ok sweet, ill keep an eye out for it around next month, gives me time to get the car running sweet!! and ill have my new plates on then too, lol! Gonz.
  12. ok sweet, thanks for that Paul, i think i will join then...so you guys organise things like track days at Barbagallo and hill climbs at Wanneroo and the like? Gonz.
